Basically the most unique show on the circuit, the weather element is just so cool and no other event throws that extra variable in there and it makes me think of the Vikings lifting these stones hundreds/thousands of years ago at the same locations.
Strongman is approaching it's golden years in my opinion. Popular enough that it draws fans, promoters, money etc but not so popular that they have to water it down to cater to casuals.
I only just started following the sport this year, but from what I’ve learned of the sport’s history I feel like the MVM Classic is a spiritual successor to the “World’s Strongest Viking” show that SCL used to do in Norway
I really wann see Mateusz succeed ngl, he should just move in with Rauno for half a year and then he‘d probably be ready to win WSM. It hurts to see this insane talent wither
@@LalasBrothers Rauno talked about it in a BTS-video with Loz, said its just unreal that Mateusz sucks so hard in Deadlift when he is so incredible in other events and he believes someone should take a very good look at how he uses his suit, there has to be something wrong
@@kryptonianstrength8461 ofc it sucks, he can never win WSM/Arnold/etc with those numbers. Mateusz is a complete beast in anything else and deserves to be a multiple times winner, but because of his 420 kg deadlift, he just comes dead last and thus can never make up those points.
I think this will be a really tough comp, I watched some of last year's livestream and the weather conditions looked brutal to lift in as you both said. Hope to see Mateusz and Shane do well, I can see Aivars taking the win. Also enjoyed the pronounciation help bit at the start with some athletes' names, very wholesome

Colin Bryce(who will be affiliated with the Magnus Classic's broadcasting) should pay attention to this contest. I believe the Strongman Classic could literally be the exact same calibre as this show, if they made it 2-day or even match it as a 3-day show.

I like this competition. I like the level of strongmen too. Its the one of a few competition that crosses over SCL and a few 'Elite Competition' strongmen. The weather is depressing though but gives these participating strongmen extra kudos for competing in piss poor weather.
Mateusz is going to smash this one considering how his training is going, he can viper press all those logs no problem, and hes not terrible at the silver dollar DL...it will be a good show for him and Ivars

I would have him winning and I suppose Rongo, Shane Flowers, Evans Nana, Tristan and Wesley in the battle for the remaining top spots. There's quite a few athletes I know nothing about would love for some of those to stir it up.

Looking forward to this comp old school events with outdoor weather to deal with great choice by Magnus Ver Magnussen my list of favourites to worst comps this year Arnold no 1 then Rogue, worlds strongest, Britain strongest, European, uk strongest and dead last goes to Shaw and his boring gym lifts comps that he does last year a lame leg press machine this year a squat in pretty much in a crap set up and then poor organisation with the weights on the barbell press. I really think Magnus comp is really gonna be big this year and a decent line up

I don't know if even Rauno can fix his deadlift, if he did it would be unreal 😊 deadlift event cost Mateusz a lot in his career.

Definitly watch the old competitions . It was great as an old style strongman events and still entertaining

What I love about the MVMC is that toughness is part of the equation. It can't really be measured nor quantified....but it's cool.
