  • Upswing Poker co-founder Ryan Fee shares his thoughts on various aspects of 4-betting and 5-betting in No Limit Texas Hold'em. Topics covered include reasons to re-raise (value vs. bluffs), when to do so, and constructing ranges for 4- and 5-betting. Some specific situational ranges discussed are straight from the Upswing Lab.

    Thanks! I’ve been studying - trying to retain the most that I can. And no one I was studying from has dived a little more deeply.
    Great video here!

    i 5 bet sometimes light in zoom ags regs with a good dynamic leading up making them more likely to 4 bet bluff as i 3 bet bluff the hell outta dem too...spec vs agro regs in blinds...some regs also play super exploitable...find those mini 4 bets most often can't call the 5 bet shove as people just put u aces & would even fold ak

    Nice video. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on why certain opening ranges should include certain percentage of hands. Most good players have a feel for how loose they should be opening in the HJ, BTN, etc, but is there any mathematical justification for those ranges?
    Everything boils back to the opening range (as noted in Millers Poker's 1%), since you'll have to defend 70% facing additional pressure, so it seems critical to understand how and why these opening ranges are a certain width from each position.

      @@ryanfee1852 Speed was good for me. Glad not to have to put it on 1.5X, like a I usually do. It' a pretty simple topic, and one really has to appreciate, the evolution of poker lingo, where playing a two-card hand with A-high against one opponent is now a "bluff." I'd like to know what software that is.

    I looks like you're defending a minimum 60% of your opening range, and up to 80%, does that not seem really high?

    • @joeregan63
      @joeregan63 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s still a cash print live to play against people who open too wide and compensate by folding to three bets like 70%. Like he makes it 3 bb, you make it 9 bb, if he’s folding 70%, there’s just nothing he can do with the other 30% to beat you.

      After 4 betting, its usually all in after that, unless the stacks are deep. Even so, 5 bet bluff is pretty much suicide.

  • @alexfoo5807
    @alexfoo5807 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    if you do 4-bet bluff make sure you do it with rags, like Q4 off, so you can get away easy on the flop if they do call and show resistance on flop
