You fight the 3 king salmonids, a new king salmonid introduced in this game, a Triumvirate, and the main antagonist (the head engineer of the salmonids) twice in two separate mechs (The Amphibeast and the Dorsal Fin-isher) While traversing this world, certain areas are marked as salmonid territory, and you must fight waves of Salmonids in a designated arena space and get as many eggs as possible to move on. If a specific egg score is reached, you get a main collectible and some upgrade materials You have a specific amount of upgrade points. You can allocate them to whatever stats that you want, but even with maxed upgrade points, one cannot obtain every single upgrade, so you have to carefully plan out the best loadout. You play as Neo Agent 3, and you adventure with Smallfry, Callie, Marie, Captain, and Cuttlefish. In Freedom Mode, you play as a Salmonling left by your species to rot in the sewers. You find Deep Cut and they assist you on your journey. They were told that there was a treasure in the centre of the sewer by Agents 1 & 2 (who tricked them into going there so that they could help out with the investigation), so they want to get it. There are also mammalian octarians (who are the enemies in this mode) in the sewers, and you have been tasked to clear them out as well. 15 new Octarian types. Only 3 types of weapons available: Sloshers, Splatlings, and Spouters Gameplay could be a metroidvania or maybe have a higher focus on combat. You fight upgraded versions of the Octonozzle, Octowhirl, and Octo Shower, new mechs (the Octoclaw (wolf), Octotusk (walrus), and Octoscreech (bat), each based off of mammals), and eventually, the corrupted Great Zapfish (now the Great Zapfuzz) who is the final boss, now fully taken over by the Fuzzy Ooze, based off of the fact that the Splatsville Great Zapfish had some hair on its head after the main story was completed. There is also a Last Story (SA2 style) available after a Grand Festival event to kick off the new trilogy, includes a new, undiscovered clone of Judd as a final boss. There will also be a second DLC campaign focused on providing an actually good story and plot as well as a remaster of Side Order with heaps of new features and quality-of-life improvements.
My idea for the idols: A big, buff drummer, a funky bass player, a rockerboy, and a really, really loud lead singer. And they’re all dudes because there have never been male idols before except Big Man.
My big idea Ive been thinking about is: While it can still be in a old time town, the main hub location will be set in a mall close by, based on some of the largest malls in the world, I loved how vertical Splatsville is, so lets there would be 4 floors each about the size of Splatoon 1 plaza. I love the idea of the idols using the sound system to do the announcements so you can still do the skip while its in the corner. If there are 4 idols then each one can be in charge of one of the levels matching in personality There can a huge central fountain of the animal statue. That you can see from all four levels. I'd imagen the first floor would have the entrance to the Shoal, the lobby. Maybe some outside sections? And there would be a train station somewhere inside too. There's obviously a food court section with the meal tickets and cafe. A fashion district with all the clothe shops. A floor thats being rented out for businesses like grizzco and maybe thats where apartments can be for the player. (Most malls have been renting the floors to offices because of low interest in shops)
This is my idea of Splatoon 4. Splatoon 4 takes place in a city that looks like an old Japanese city, this place is called Splatopia. In Splatopia there are four towers to play in, the Turf War tower, the Ranked Tower, The Salmon Run Tower and the games new mode, Splat Match Tower where you play against 7 players in a 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1. The idols of the city are known as the Idol Coral a group made a of two idol groups, one being the Sea Stars made from two Octolings and the other being the Sea Bea_ts made from two inklings. The Splatfests are two options and each idol group chooses a team. The tri color or shifty station of these Splatfests would be Stage Stages where maps would be turned into idol stations and depending on the fest would depend on what the map looks like. Another thing about Splatfests is they would either takeover the Turf War Tower or the Ranked Tower with each Splatfest choosing either turf war, splatzones, clam blitz, tower control, or rainmaker. Big Run would also keep the egg count like the Splatland Big Run for every Big Run and each would have a different reward. Another new event would be the Ranked Splatdown where it would work like Big Run, but instead of Golden eggs for a reward, it’s win streaks. This is getting too long. If you want to hear about the story mode, I say what that would look like too. And the dlc would be the biggest one yet.
im fine with all this new stuff but i'm just really looking forward to simple quality-of-life features that all three games so far don't have: a pause screen during pubs, stop matchmaking before you find a match, interact with things in the lobby WHILE matchmaking, better servers, better connectivity, more modes (that we got none of in sp3) dont get rid of past season catalogs, more splatfests, more time to complete challenge modes, a TRUE skip the news button, a better visual hub world map, a bigger comp scene, all these things that should've been in splatoon 1 but weren't in ANY of the games. the one thing they did right was keep it as free as possible. No "premium" catalogs, store bundles, microtransactions, any of that.
honestly i can imagine the splatoon 4 idols helping you out during a mission. imagine that, when a level is too hard, you can choose which idol to help you out. like marina in cto expansion (except here they follow you around like an npc- A SMART ONE THOUGH. not one that falls off the map!)

What I think is custom kits and skins for your weapons. Like the splattershot, you can do the Splat 4 design,(default) Splat 3, Splat 2, and Splat 1. That’s for skins, For custom kits, you can buy subs and specials to put them on your weapon. And also, 2v2 modes and split screen.
I can picture how viewing peoples apartments would work and its kinda perfect, a sort of high angle view of the whole thing would do just fine, and switching to different player's apartment rooms would be quick like switching through shops. Also new idols feels like a stale idea. We should not have new idols at all, but maybe shift focus on an existing band
Random encounters during story mode where just a bunch of enemies attack you in a small arena would also be cool. Would keep the map from feeling barren outside of levels.

I love the customization part you talked about with the apartments and ink tanks the Cuttleling part does sound a tad bit far fetched without back story + lore but I wouldn't mind if the new species doesn't get an introductory phase. I definitely want more lore about humans, the great turf war, inklings + octolings, other in game species and the condition of the world Nintendo makes it so vague in the game ☁️
1. most games already don't give you multiple species and there are sooo many other customizations you could add so I don't really see the problem with just inklings and octolings 2. Lore. Its like, the inklings and octolings arose together. Then came the great turf war, then the events of splatoon 1, splatoon 2, and octo expansion, then it being wrapped up in splatoon 3 where they are both finally equal and we assume (or at least I do) with what happened grizz and dj octavio, there is no longer such thing as the "octarian army". So now it *should* be over now that they are living in harmony loll. But point is, they've both been here since the beginning, but because of lore and such, we didn't play as octolings till splatoon 2. But they both have relating lore and all and I feel adding another species would just be so weird and random and it wouldn't be right to me. It would seem to me like it was just to please people or be a cash grab.

Also Past won Final fest so were probably gonna have a story mode like during the Great Turf War and the story varies depending on your species (Like if you are inkling species you would get the Inkling story and if Octoling you would get Octoling story) You could also get both but only after you complete your initial one.
bro, just for the ink tank part and the apartment, i totally agree with your idea, some time ago i came with an idea that it would be cool that in each city you would have the ink tank of that game and the weapon style of that game so i love your idea
imma give my own take of what i specifically want because im a nerd the first thing is instead of apartments the replacement will be clubs you can make a club for your friends to join its sort of like a clan system but every club has their own area the members can design like a locker there will be an entire area of the plaza for clubs, also no customizable ink tanks i just think its weird. there will just be a new sleek ink tank design with your sub magnetically attached to a shoulder strap which is connected to the ink tank via a pipe and when you dont have enough ink to use your sub you will visually see your sub weapon deflated, speaking of subs (and specials) instead of weapon kits there would be kit pools for each weapon basically at the start of the game each weapon will have 3 subs and 3 specials in its kit pool you can use any combination out of those as the game updates more subs and more specials will be added until each weapon has 5 also instead of brands directly making their own weapon they will be providing the subs so for example stamper could have a toni kensa sponsored burst bomb and an annaki sponsored special (they will have unique designs based on the brand) this system is not my idea i saw it in a prochara video and i think its the best system also one addition i want to add to this system is weapon customizability depending on the brand your special different parts of your weapon will have different designs so on stamper (again) using an enperry sub will give the handle a sleek modern gold black design and an annaki special could change the design of the blade to have graffiti decals. all ranked modes will be reworked and i have rework concepts for all of them but they are way too long to include here so im not gonna explain it. also larger maps and 5v5, there will only be new or drastically reworked specials splatfests will have 4 teams and it will be 3v3v3v3 12 player lobbies and also ranked splatfest modes cause fuck it. also just in general there will be arcade modes which can range from random weapons 10 player free for all where whoever gets the most kills wins etc. also the entire game will be beach sea and coast themed the plaza will be on a beach with great views there will be an inflatable water obstacle course map a boardwalk theme park map you get the idea. also some maps will be locked out of certain ranked modes which will allow more creative map design like a map with no mid and rotations will remain but every ranked option will be converted into 1 mode/rotation but rotations will have 4 stages now and be locked into 2 modes 2 stages for each mode so you get to not just play one mode and yes x rank is now just an actual rank there the whole ranked system will be revamped to work well for x rank so there could still be a top player system in x rank. finally the opening of the game would be you on riding on your airboat and making your way into port where you find a splattershot junior and make your way to the plaza. i dont know what to do with salmon run cause i dont play salmon run so if anyone has ideas that would fit into the theme of the game let me know but i do think adding that scrapped underground mode to function as ranked salmon run would be cool
If you haven't noticed in between games, the new games are built on the winning results of the final splatfest. Since team past won for splatoon 3, splatoon 4 would go with that theme
I'd love to see a post-soviet theme for the main plaza/lobby since Team Past won, and the Soviet era was in the past. imo, soviet architecture looks nice, but I'd love to see some old japanese sort of theme aswell
6:28 HUNDREDS?!?!? Do you even know the slightest bit how unbearably long, tedious, and near impossible adding in HUNDREDS of unique types of enemies into a single video game would be, on top of everything else you've mentioned??? I know this is all hypothetical, but do you even WANT hundreds of different types of enemies??? Or even apartments? There isn't a button that just says, "make good game", you know.
I only want is that Nintendo make a offline mode for turf war & salmon run, for the game live a little longer for those who have no internet & online card.
100s of enemies is a bit unrealistic esp if they're an entirely new species so repurposing assets isn't viable. i love the water-shooting idea though! i kinda would love a salmon-run centric storymode, i feel there's a lot of story potential in what we know about them so far! also apartments would be sick if you could invite friends to hang out live & chat (though with it being a children's game, online chatting isnt really gonna happen lol)
I dont know, adding new subs each season or update seems excessive, right now, due to the balancing, stuff like fizzy and torpedo have 7-8 weapons each, with adding so many subs seems like that issue will escalate further, imagine a weapon which depends on high mobility like splat rollers to get a new stationary sub, it wouldn't be great for the weapon

The main idol group we see is 3 idols🧡💜💚, but between the events of 3&4, one of the idols gets kicked off🤍, and now stays in the shadows as a bitter nemesis to the remaining 3. When splatfests happen, and you don't see a choice that fits your opinion, you can secretly join the forgotten idols🤍 team as an independent party, and infiltrate matches undercover (The indie player joins alongside whichever team they chose to blend in as. They are tasked with covering the most turf with only their ink(which will be outline in red for the player to see.) and trying not to look suspicious to their so-called teammates)
The new class every update would absolutely not work, would that mean the prior classes might have 5 weapons while the new ones get 1 tops? It’s too unbalanced.
@Freelancer837 from what I heard from prochara a pro player the game is well balanced at top level play with many kits being viable. Honestly, the most unbalanced part of the kits are that bombs dominate the sub weapon meta. What about the game do you find unfair from a weapon kit perspective?
No offense but, I don't think Nintendo would ever be this ambitious for a sequel. Some changes you want could be good in moderation. But the idea of making everything bigger and better would be risky as you don't want the world to be empty. (And no offense historically large groups of humans can not all collectively agree or know what they want)
I really dont want a new species, if they do add a new one it would feel way too forced and theirs no point in adding one inklings and octolings are fine they just need a couple more hairstyles and more general customization, it also wouldnt really fit in lore wise as we know some type of aspect of the next splat game will be past themed and just slapping on a “they went extinct before s1” will not only be confusing but also lame because how would you explain the sunken scrolls not mentioning them?

I disliked this video because of how superficial most things that were brought up were. It felt more like something that could be in any game or a slight expression of a concept we've seen. The new weapons are a good new change, but that wasn't really given as much of an explanation as needed to really show how it would be different. Here are things I would do to change splatoon... 1 Asymmetrical multiplayer. I would have a new game mode where in players had to fight a boss creature controled by a single person. 1a. Or have a mode in splatzone or tower control where the losing team will get one player to become an idol and aid in the fighting. It would be a fun comeback mechanic and make the new idols stand out. 2 explorable cities. If they made a city exploreable you could have all the multiplayer maps be loctions that could be explored outside of battle in the overworld making it feel like you are in a real place. It would also make splatfests more epic. 3 Nintendo music announcements have the idols mention when their music is added to the app and have events about it 4 for salmon run we could introduce a new mode where you had to escort mr grizz to a loction. Making it a mix of tower control and hoard mode. This would also make use of the overworld map. 5 side quests/questing/side stories have characters in the world make requests of players for items or play them in table turf or beat x number of players, things to add personality to the npcs. 6 salmon runs and splatfest battles in the city streeets, it would be epic if there were cheering inklings or civilians in danger it would make these events feel more important because you're saving the city/competing in battle infront of hundreds of people. There two new muliplayer modes, an open world instead of hub, integration of the music app, a new objective for salmon run, more interactions with npcs, and making splatoon's bigruns and splatfests more epic. I didn't make this comment to be mean i did it because I'm a firm believer in putting your money where your mouth is.

@Endblade47 see I think that's the problem with the method used. The audience picked the most superficial things. They picked the shiniest option not the most mechanically different. These changes outside the 5v5 aren't really anything too differentiate splooon 4 from 3. And if overwatch is anything to go by switch team size isn't a big enough change.

Not really necessary, but we do need better level design. Random floating geometry is really dumb.

Cuttlefish is just their last names, they're all inklings.
Those three are all Inklings. However, with Octo Expansion, we did get "Cuttlings" though they seem to just be a type of subspecies of Inklings.

They aren’t; they’re inklings. Captain Cuttlefish isn’t even named Cuttlefish in the Japanese version.
I love the customization part you talked about with the apartments and ink tanks the Cuttleling part does sound a tad bit far fetched without back story + lore but I wouldn't mind if the new species doesn't get an introductory phase. I definitely want more lore about humans, the great turf war, inklings + octolings, other in game species and the condition of the world Nintendo makes it so vague in the game ☁️

1. most games already don't give you multiple species and there are sooo many other customizations you could add so I don't really see the problem with just inklings and octolings
2. Lore. Its like, the inklings and octolings arose together. Then came the great turf war, then the events of splatoon 1, splatoon 2, and octo expansion, then it being wrapped up in splatoon 3 where they are both finally equal and we assume (or at least I do) with what happened grizz and dj octavio, there is no longer such thing as the "octarian army". So now it *should* be over now that they are living in harmony loll. But point is, they've both been here since the beginning, but because of lore and such, we didn't play as octolings till splatoon 2. But they both have relating lore and all and I feel adding another species would just be so weird and random and it wouldn't be right to me. It would seem to me like it was just to please people or be a cash grab.
@@OddballWeirdo I think it makes sense to not have inktolings considering that squids and octopus can't breed but maybe if through all the events something or whatever in dna allowed it. I wouldn't be mad if we did get inktolings but I almost think it's better the way it is. They are cool though

Also Past won Final fest so were probably gonna have a story mode like during the Great Turf War and the story varies depending on your species (Like if you are inkling species you would get the Inkling story and if Octoling you would get Octoling story) You could also get both but only after you complete your initial one.

bro, just for the ink tank part and the apartment, i totally agree with your idea, some time ago i came with an idea that it would be cool that in each city you would have the ink tank of that game and the weapon style of that game so i love your idea

imma give my own take of what i specifically want because im a nerd
the first thing is instead of apartments the replacement will be clubs you can make a club for your friends to join its sort of like a clan system but every club has their own area the members can design like a locker there will be an entire area of the plaza for clubs, also no customizable ink tanks i just think its weird. there will just be a new sleek ink tank design with your sub magnetically attached to a shoulder strap which is connected to the ink tank via a pipe and when you dont have enough ink to use your sub you will visually see your sub weapon deflated, speaking of subs (and specials) instead of weapon kits there would be kit pools for each weapon basically at the start of the game each weapon will have 3 subs and 3 specials in its kit pool you can use any combination out of those as the game updates more subs and more specials will be added until each weapon has 5 also instead of brands directly making their own weapon they will be providing the subs so for example stamper could have a toni kensa sponsored burst bomb and an annaki sponsored special (they will have unique designs based on the brand) this system is not my idea i saw it in a prochara video and i think its the best system also one addition i want to add to this system is weapon customizability depending on the brand your special different parts of your weapon will have different designs so on stamper (again) using an enperry sub will give the handle a sleek modern gold black design and an annaki special could change the design of the blade to have graffiti decals. all ranked modes will be reworked and i have rework concepts for all of them but they are way too long to include here so im not gonna explain it. also larger maps and 5v5, there will only be new or drastically reworked specials splatfests will have 4 teams and it will be 3v3v3v3 12 player lobbies and also ranked splatfest modes cause fuck it. also just in general there will be arcade modes which can range from random weapons 10 player free for all where whoever gets the most kills wins etc. also the entire game will be beach sea and coast themed the plaza will be on a beach with great views there will be an inflatable water obstacle course map a boardwalk theme park map you get the idea. also some maps will be locked out of certain ranked modes which will allow more creative map design like a map with no mid and rotations will remain but every ranked option will be converted into 1 mode/rotation but rotations will have 4 stages now and be locked into 2 modes 2 stages for each mode so you get to not just play one mode and yes x rank is now just an actual rank there the whole ranked system will be revamped to work well for x rank so there could still be a top player system in x rank. finally the opening of the game would be you on riding on your airboat and making your way into port where you find a splattershot junior and make your way to the plaza.
i dont know what to do with salmon run cause i dont play salmon run so if anyone has ideas that would fit into the theme of the game let me know but i do think adding that scrapped underground mode to function as ranked salmon run would be cool

If you haven't noticed in between games, the new games are built on the winning results of the final splatfest. Since team past won for splatoon 3, splatoon 4 would go with that theme

I'd love to see a post-soviet theme for the main plaza/lobby since Team Past won, and the Soviet era was in the past. imo, soviet architecture looks nice, but I'd love to see some old japanese sort of theme aswell

I only want is that Nintendo make a offline mode for turf war & salmon run, for the game live a little longer for those who have no internet & online card.

100s of enemies is a bit unrealistic esp if they're an entirely new species so repurposing assets isn't viable. i love the water-shooting idea though! i kinda would love a salmon-run centric storymode, i feel there's a lot of story potential in what we know about them so far! also apartments would be sick if you could invite friends to hang out live & chat (though with it being a children's game, online chatting isnt really gonna happen lol)
Realistically these would be reskined enemies from the other modes s 50 or so enemies isn't impossible
I dont know, adding new subs each season or update seems excessive, right now, due to the balancing, stuff like fizzy and torpedo have 7-8 weapons each, with adding so many subs seems like that issue will escalate further, imagine a weapon which depends on high mobility like splat rollers to get a new stationary sub, it wouldn't be great for the weapon

There is a way they could TECHNICALLY do this.
The main idol group we see is 3 idols🧡💜💚, but between the events of 3&4, one of the idols gets kicked off🤍, and now stays in the shadows as a bitter nemesis to the remaining 3.
When splatfests happen, and you don't see a choice that fits your opinion, you can secretly join the forgotten idols🤍 team as an independent party, and infiltrate matches undercover
(The indie player joins alongside whichever team they chose to blend in as. They are tasked with covering the most turf with only their ink(which will be outline in red for the player to see.) and trying not to look suspicious to their so-called teammates)
The new class every update would absolutely not work, would that mean the prior classes might have 5 weapons while the new ones get 1 tops? It’s too unbalanced.
From what I understand splatoon 3 is really well balanced unbalancing the game for a sequel seems like an easy way to get hate

@Freelancer837 from what I heard from prochara a pro player the game is well balanced at top level play with many kits being viable. Honestly, the most unbalanced part of the kits are that bombs dominate the sub weapon meta.

No offense but, I don't think Nintendo would ever be this ambitious for a sequel. Some changes you want could be good in moderation. But the idea of making everything bigger and better would be risky as you don't want the world to be empty. (And no offense historically large groups of humans can not all collectively agree or know what they want)
I really dont want a new species, if they do add a new one it would feel way too forced and theirs no point in adding one inklings and octolings are fine they just need a couple more hairstyles and more general customization, it also wouldnt really fit in lore wise as we know some type of aspect of the next splat game will be past themed and just slapping on a “they went extinct before s1” will not only be confusing but also lame because how would you explain the sunken scrolls not mentioning them?

I disliked this video because of how superficial most things that were brought up were. It felt more like something that could be in any game or a slight expression of a concept we've seen.
The new weapons are a good new change, but that wasn't really given as much of an explanation as needed to really show how it would be different.
Here are things I would do to change splatoon...
1 Asymmetrical multiplayer. I would have a new game mode where in players had to fight a boss creature controled by a single person.
1a. Or have a mode in splatzone or tower control where the losing team will get one player to become an idol and aid in the fighting. It would be a fun comeback mechanic and make the new idols stand out.
2 explorable cities. If they made a city exploreable you could have all the multiplayer maps be loctions that could be explored outside of battle in the overworld making it feel like you are in a real place. It would also make splatfests more epic.
3 Nintendo music announcements have the idols mention when their music is added to the app and have events about it
4 for salmon run we could introduce a new mode where you had to escort mr grizz to a loction. Making it a mix of tower control and hoard mode. This would also make use of the overworld map.
5 side quests/questing/side stories have characters in the world make requests of players for items or play them in table turf or beat x number of players, things to add personality to the npcs.
6 salmon runs and splatfest battles in the city streeets, it would be epic if there were cheering inklings or civilians in danger it would make these events feel more important because you're saving the city/competing in battle infront of hundreds of people.
There two new muliplayer modes, an open world instead of hub, integration of the music app, a new objective for salmon run, more interactions with npcs, and making splatoon's bigruns and splatfests more epic.
I didn't make this comment to be mean i did it because I'm a firm believer in putting your money where your mouth is.

@Endblade47 see I think that's the problem with the method used. The audience picked the most superficial things. They picked the shiniest option not the most mechanically different.
These changes outside the 5v5 aren't really anything too differentiate splooon 4 from 3. And if overwatch is anything to go by switch team size isn't a big enough change.
