Klare und saubere live Aufführung dieses perfekt komponierten Meisterwerks mit gut harmonisierten und perfekt synchronisierten Töne aller historischen Instrumente sowie herrlichen Stimmen aller Solisten und perfekt kontrollierten Stimmen des ganzen Chors. Der erfahrene Maestro dirigiert das ausgezeichnete Ensemble im gut phrasierten Tempo mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Einfach wunderbar!
Eine sehr gute Aufführung, die Johann Sebastian Bach gerecht wird.
Man sollte nicht vergessen, dass Bach zu den größten und bedeutendsten Komponisten gehört!

I listened to a recording of this work while in the military in Tacoma, Washington back in 1959 and just fell in love with it. When I returned home in 1960 to Maryland one of the first things I did was to have a record store order me a copy, And I've played it every Easter season, I was never blessed to sing the work (I was a choral sibger for 31 years), but I did attend a performance once by the Cathedral Choral Society under J. Riley Lewis. Happy and blessed Easter and music by Bach.
Why haven't you ventured to sing it along with the recording?

I was looking for a recording of the Johann Sebastian Bach Eastert Oratorio by the Thomaner Choir from Leipzig Germany. I found this performance on TH-cam and found this beautiful performance conducted by Sir John Elliot Gardener of the Proms from 2013. May be heard by the Thomaner Choir in 1965, the anniversary year of the birth of Bach in the then D.D.R. This is what I hear like, having been a singer myself for 30 years as Bach would have intended. Blessed Easter
Extraordinaire, la quintessence de la musique glorifiant le Divin par un des meilleurs ensembles au monde, quelle fierté d'arriver à ce niveau là. Mentions toutes particulières aux hautbois !!!! il y a des moments dans une vie qui sont exceptionnels... c'en est un. En n'ont ils eu pleinement conscience, l'horloge du temps s'est interrompue lors de ce chef d'œuvre.
Non ci sono parole per esprimere la bellezza di questa cantata pasquale. L'adagio della sinfonia è di una delicatezza sublime, bravo l'oboe che sa esaltare in pieno il carattere bachiano. La spiritualità dell'opera è reale. Dio attraverso Bach non poteva fare di meglio.

I really like the soprano soloist here. Her voice is very pure sounding, and she is using only a very small amount of vibrato as an ornament - much like I believe was done in the time period Bach was writing. This lets all the intricate other baroque ornaments she's singing ring out clearly. And it sounds wonderful.
