- This video tells you on how to properly design a septic tank in a residential project. No to copy paste septic tank details. Learn the needed volume and right dimensions for your future reference.
TAKE NOTE : In septic tanks having over 6 cum capacity, the secondary compartment should be not less than 1.5 m in length.
While there are listed design considerations that are not tackled like pipe size,slope,distance of pipe etc. This is just a preview of a septic design for size configuration. I will a make video for the right technical specs and considerations. Thanks!

Most of our computations for plumbing are based on the books of FAJARDO and SALVAN since yan ang books natin noon sa college and I see meron pagkakaiba sa results when we use itong NATIONAL PLUMBING CODE. I am glad na sa computation ng Septic Tank You taught using NPC. Will you make other computations teachings like soil and waste pipes, storms and also vents using NPC. Thank you. I am also an Architect and RMP.

Good day Ar.! Thank you for such an informative video. Question, I tried to compute the septic tank dimensions for a house with 1 or 2 bedrooms and I got 1.50 x 0.90 x 2.10 M (length). The digestive chamber is 1.4 m and leaching is 0.70 m. Is the dimension enough or is it too small? And is a 500x500 mm manhole suitable for this dimension? Thank you!

What happens to the effluent from the septic tank? Does it eventually reach a treatment facility like it’s supposed to or does it drain into a street canal that eventually goes to an estero or river and eventually to Manila bay?
It should go to main public or private sewarage system. It should not go directly to canals,estero, river. Unless its a storm water

Hi, septic vaults can only be used to residential projects, in a comml prject, you need na ng sanitary treatment plant, and the right professional to design that is a sanitary engineer :)
The sv would be huge if that so haha, kaya stp is needed na for that, the problem is the problem lol,
You must also consider grease interceptors for the development, anyways i hope i answered your question indirectly hehe 🙏

Your problem.would be the standard slope of the pipe, 2% slope to fully drain waste and water

Hi sir Jim, depende din po kasi sa designer, si fajardo kasi is like an additional reference. Pero I opt to choose RNPC guidelines kasi dun din kinukuha yung fixture units when designing sanitary and waterline. hope it helps thanks!

Comment lang: Hindi parehas ung mga unit symbols sa computation kaya medyo nakakalito dapat kung kukuha ka ng length (m) = cu.m / (width (m) x depth (m)). Anyway, thank you very informative.

Good day po! Thank you for the helpful information Ar.! Ask ko lang po, how about pag 3 chambers naman po ang reqd. na i-design, applicable pa rin po ba yung 2/3 digestive and 1/3 leaching? If ganun po kasi sosobra na po sya sa nakuhang total length ng septic tank. How would you design po a 3 chamber STP if magbbase ka po sa Table B-2 of RNPC? Thank you po for responding :))

Old practice but its not allowed since the soil can be contaminated po. Cocr. Slab is a must for all chambers sir :)

Hi Sir, all licensed architects are from UAP/PIA kaya guaranteed ka, just ask first his/her license no and you can verify it to PRC. Sa I ilocos ,I have one friend na taga dian though dito sya sa manila nagwowork.

Yes, but in revised national plumbing code of ph, minimum is 2, you can add naman ung computed leaching chamber if needed sa specific municipality is 3 :)

Gawin mo 2/3+1/3+1/3. Mag lagay ka ng allowance. Yes di na advisable yung 2 chamber as per doh. And rncp need to be revised for almost 3 decades na yan di oa nagagalaw.

Im an architect alam natin yan..pero sa ENRO lalo na dito sa dumaguete iba.. eh dapat nakasUnod ka sa kanilang dimension.. minsan aabot panang 8.00 meters yong vault mismo..
