    Just an fyi, the Blackmagic camera app has built in desqueeze for anamorphic lens. That app is the gold standard for professional video

    Just in time! I was researching these for the fisheye and portrait lens specifically. I'm also interested in the cinebloom, I would use that filter the most so please make a video on it!

    Appreciate the perspective on these. It does appear that you have the M series, which would explain some of the extra softness you experienced. I had M series since iPhone 12 Pro Max and did the trade in program to upgrade to the T series for a few of them now that I’m on a 14 Pro Max, and there is a noticeable difference so far. You’re also spot on with the observation about being intentional about the purchase and use. I went in having one set of expectations of how and when I’d use them, and that shifted, but now they get solid usage, either for flavor or enabling shots that really wouldn’t work otherwise. For example, I thought the use case for the 58 mm would be to 2x the tele for more reach … but really, making portraits and increasing real bokeh on closer in subjects proved the better use case. Those who are regretting not having something between the 1x and 5x on iPhone 15 pro max might appreciate having the T series on their 1x. The macro lenses really are wildly different (and better IMO) than the built in option, if you’re into that style, with a really shallow depth of field (to the point where you need to focus stack sometimes). The fisheye is just kinda fun (and sometimes practical in tight spaces). But yeah, all of this does mean carrying a small sling and futzing with lenses and filters - really can’t pocket it. As someone who came from DSLR and has gone “down” to the phone as my primary camera, I’m ok with it, but you have to do what works for you - definitely not for everyone.

    You are right on the learning curve and the advantages that this lenses can provide for a content creator/photographer/videographer, my recommendation is (which i didn't saw you mention it) its that you can use the lenses in all the other cameras, for example (in my experience) using the Tele 58mm on the iPhone Tele lens gives you more reach and improve (in my opinion) the bokeh of the lens. If you mix and try different stuffs with all the cameras may creative possibilities can open up. In my case I have the 18mm ultra wide which I use on my Pixel 4XL for the main camera and with the Filmic Pro app, when using the app with the settings 4K+ 60p the crop is really aggressive and the lens gives back more FOV than the main lens without the crop which is really useful. Other than that, great content.

    I think you may have gotten the older versions of these lenses because they also just recently released their t* upgraded lenses which they showed in a video to work much better than the older lenses. I only looked into it because I still have the older version of the lenses and was bummed they are no longer compatible.

    Respectfully, Moment capitalized on a time when phones didnt have more than one camera. The excitement was real but once you actually started shooting with these, all pocketability went out yhe window. Each of these lenses protudes out to a point where you can no longer put your phone is your pocket. And carrying out a bunch of these, small as they are is still a hassle.
    I would say with todays phones with 3 and up to 5 cameras, these are obsolete or not necessary.
    Sold mine many many years ago.

    I like the Freewell Sherpa lenses way more, they just feel like they are a lot higher quality. But the Moment lenses are smaller and lighter, so probably better for travelers with very limited space.

    Imo People would, with no doubt, be better off with a 10 year old dslr and a prime lens.
    Remember your first pictures - they weren't great but were necessary for learning.
    Fail fast and limit cost - not getting into overpriced iPhones(that Apple actually can screw with for making you want to buy the newest one)

    Nah, looks like a gimmick and a hassle to me. Who would even be the target audience for these? Influencers?
    Photography enthusiasts will go for DSLRs. And a professional photographer showing up for a shoot with a set of these will definitely raise eyebrows.

    • @getfmlr
      @getfmlr 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Seems like a gimmick now but you have to realize Moment started offering these at a time when phones didnt have more than one camera. So at the time, being able to do wide angle and telephoto was only possible using these external attachments.

    • @Toppu
      @Toppu 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@getfmlr sure thing, I'm aware of that. But even a few years ago, was the fish-eye effect really THAT popular? To me it just looks like something you'd buy and then forget about a couple of weeks later. Again, this is just my opinion.

    • @getfmlr
      @getfmlr 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Toppu not saying you are wrong. It's just at the time it was nice to have the option when your cell phone only had one camera. The most popular models were the wide angle and the telephoto lens. These days cellphones have both so the external attachments are redundant.
