Love to see this stuff. Basically it's Baseball bat university. Or product testing for all the bat manufacturers. Either way it's a massive deal for educating both novice baseball players and professional bat manufacturers. You guys are legendary for doing this.
Yo where were you when i was doing my friggin study! Lmao I'm doing my next thesis on the effects of wood density as a function of BBCOR because it's a dramatically understudied property. I'm gonna save my goodies for my personal study, but wood density affects more than just the momentum you put into the ball. It also affects BBCOR, flex, and durability. A high density bat will hit the ball further because it deforms less. It is stiffer so mishits have a different feel, and higher density wood is definitely has a benefit of increased durability. High density bats should last you around 9000 hacks. I made a high density turn model and have hit on the label NUMEROUS times with no breakage (i suck that's why) Wood bats have so much freedom and variety in baseball. You can change the feel of the bat with just a few changes to density and volume. A 110 drop 1.5 has the same MOI as a drop 3 243, but is way more durable and hits the ball harder with slightly less sweet spot. An uncupped i13 at 2.5 has the same swing weight as a cupped drop 3 243 with more pop and sweet spot but with a fatter handle. The best thing a player can do is try them out and never go by the conventional mindset
So true. Massive misconception is that a 271 or a 110 is a "contact bat" when really the slimmer turn model allows for higher density and thus more distance.
When I was a little kid a family member that didn't know much about baseball, got me a Louisville Turn Model 9 Johnny Bench. He thought I could hit it way out there...LOL....turns out it is a 34" x 37.5oz...wow. As a goof I used it in the batting cages and while it is heavy, it swings nice...the ball just jumps. I used it in my 30 and over wood bat league and everyone used it...never thought such a heavy bat would get so much use. My normal size is a 33" but sometimes move down to 32". Aluminum 33". Turns out my bats weigh out to 33" x 30oz. A 243 in maple that is end loaded and M110 more balanced. I like using an ash 271. It looks like a toothpick...but it bangs. I miss the days of using my 33" x 28oz -5 with 2 3/4" barrel...before they were banned...LOL. That thing would trampoline balls off the barrel and hitting off the hands could still get you a base hit. Interesting to see that the -2 seemed to be the sweetspot. I always thought a -3 was my target weight, but I focused more on swing feel and bat turn than actual weight. Fun vid...thx
PowerBull are awesome bats! So glad they got a chance to be on! They made a custom made bat for my son that has been nothing but awesome! El Paso proud!
I joined a men's league last year and my girlfriend bought me my first wood bat for my birthday. She didn't understand weight so she got me a cupped Louisville 243 Birch that was 33/33. When I found out that drop 3 was a thing before the season started... I got nervous lol but the bat is so ridiculously good on miss hits that what would normally be a pop-up to the 3rd baseman ends up carrying into a deadzone in left field. Was crazy hard to get around at first, but I'm a bigger guy, 6 foot and 205 lbs, and I ended up being our league's batting average champ (.529) also, I've had the bat for over a year now and it just won't break.
Great video! Looking forward to the next Wood Bat Madness 2.0 video! Also have you heard of Sasquatch Bat Co? Custom maple bats for $65. Got a couple for Men's League this year but haven't tried them out yet.
Should try a challenge of 32” 31 oz bat and keeping the 31 oz but with increasing length. so having the same weight distributed over length of barrel can be a nice little experiment
I got a louisville slugger prime 915 bbcor for you guys to maybe test out for a video but only thing its a 31 incher so not the 33s you guys normally use
Broke my first wood bat yesterday. It was a custom Homewood bat from local to me, it was a -3, 31inch, birch bat. Have been using wood more since my metal bat broke. Any recommendations since it broke?
A lot of the bats at the store are not balanced correctly. So it's hard to tell what is good for a regular guy. And the cost of bats kinda prohibits much experimentation.
Amazing how 1oz can change things. A 1oz bag of Doritos is just 10 corn chips. Thinking of that weight added to a bat doesn’t seem much to effect things. I guess once you get accustomed to a certain weight anything heavier is an complete adjustment.
Not necessarily related to the video, but have you guys swung any of the victus V-cuts? I’m looking for a few budget bats for my upcoming season and am wondering if those are worth it or if I should look elsewhere.
I am stuck between two bats, the Louisville Select PWR, and The DeMarini Zia -3 can you do on field preferences and exit velo and decide which one is better
@@izai. Painfully 😂 I was having trouble adjusting to slower pitching so instead of doing the right thing and practicing, i just said fk it and found a log in the woods.
i have the easton speed 2019 usa base ball but thats because im in a legue where inly wood or usa base ball bats are legal bbcor rip usssa rip [ i personally would only swing usa bats because that uses all your strength it doesnt put the ball out farther

Had the exact same experience, top to bottom, very strange, almost too strange.
@@TheAngeloPrisco It seems we are bat brothers, then. One might even say we are baseball bat bros.
Im a wood bat collector myself, and I use them constantly but have never had a broken bat. It would suck if you only got a year of use out of a bat
@@e_conn23 You're lucky, then. Or, you've just never seen a 90mph 2-seamer lol
@@jacobh.f.9609 I have lol but yeah I can see those breaking wood bats easy
Had to decide whether to leave the like counter at 271 or click it and change it to 272. Tough decision.
Ordered 2 Powerbull bats after this video love the sound got the 271 and 915 models both cupped 33.5
I think I would've swung the drop 1 first and saved the drop 3 for last.
Trace if you are ever in Frisco playing the Rough Riders let us know I will send my boy down for an autograph!
Trace rocking the Austin senators hat from the RR Express🔥

The Bat Bros should make the goods vs the Zoa 2022 ,keep up the good work!

If I swung a -1, the bat might take me into the clouds.
My brother Caleb Gindl is on the barnstormers with Trace Loehr

@thabatbros any suggestions for a good wood bat for a 15 u in jv high-school
demarini wood composite 110 or 243 - they're feel like a metal bat pretty much
@@baseballbatbros 😊 thanks

Aye, idk about you but 10 corn chips can change my day. For better or worst.
We love the consistency ❤️🔥
Is there any difference in a 1 handed release follow through and a 2 handed follow through or is it more just preference
I subconsciously switch between both with my swing and I find that it makes no difference for me
Can you guys please do the Easton ADV 360 USA 2022. I swear that would be my favorite video.
Why not go a -1 but put an ounce or so into the knob so the weight is closer to the body on initial swing? Would that help it?
Were are you guys located at
Moar wood bats!! Let's goooo!
Could you guys do ash vs maple vs birch exit velocity test? Thanks
When are y’all doing the stinger missile 2022 bbcor bat?
Could you guys do a review on the Stinger Missle2
What models are better than the ap5 ?
Long and light vs short and heavy:
Alex Bregman's gammer is a 35-1/2" drop 4, 110 turn
The lightest drop weight you’re allowed to use in Major League Baseball is a drop 3.5 - so that may have been exaggerated a bit lol
Whats the best bat you guys have ?
Swing the 2022 cf Bbcor Please there are no reviews and I was wondering if you could test that
Can you guys do a video on the Louisville Slugger S318?
The Baseball Bat Bros and Coach Kent Murphy should collaborate on a future video.
Not necessarily related to the video, but have you guys swung any of the victus V-cuts? I’m looking for a few budget bats for my upcoming season and am wondering if those are worth it or if I should look elsewhere.
U should do a review on the OZZ1 from bird man bats
Love ya bat bros!
I love you
Can u do a Easton speed comp
I would love to see a Meta vs Zoa bbcor. Due to the price point of both I think it would be interesting
In men's league I would swing a 33in 34oz. I just liked the heavier swing weight
Can you please hit with the 2022 stinger missile 2?
Where were you hitting at
What do you think is best between maple and birch?
I have a cat nine drop five and string king drop ten
those bats sound insane where can i find it
Can you please do a drop 5 review on the new meta
the best comp bbcor bat is the yellow xl1 Easton
Do you like the 2022 Rawlings bebeecore
I am stuck between two bats, the Louisville Select PWR, and The DeMarini Zia -3 can you do on field preferences and exit velo and decide which one is better
Select PWR not even close

Where were all these bats when I was coming up? I feel cheated, used and abused. lol. Great video men.
Should I swing a 34 metal if I’m 6ft 230
You guys should compare the cat 9 and the voodoo one
Can guys do Goods one piece vs voodoo 2 piece
Do green zen vs xl1
