Very funny to hear a similar experience. You can talk with a spouse for years to no avail then someone else says something and voila 😂 A prophet has no honour in his own home 😂
My wife came home from work with some info on fasting from a college. I'm usually the one who goes head on into some lifestyle or diet change, though this time it was very well backed up by good doctors like Dr Westman. Keto is wonderful!
It's dangerous to those who live off sickness, death & disease. Completely healthy and preferred by those of us who desire to live a life of health and happiness.
Dr Westman this was fantastic. Having MS and flares of Sjoegren/SLE and with your protocol via KMS joined in January 2024 have seen huge improvement cognitively and bonus of 20 pounds of weightloss. Started more restrictive Carnivore June 19th and hearing Dominic MAY incorporate exogenous ketones?! Know five years ago an acquaintance with extreme disability with MS (taught nursing) was taking a tsp per day of coconut oil but was a trend of everyone so did not do. Now more interested hearing this presentation. Another name to add to my list of individuals to educate myself their info. Dr Westman finding and having invested in the Adapt your Life course was invaluable. I am not very technical and way behind++++ in organizing my life daily BUT you were the spark and most trusted source for me and hearing your opinion I feel grateful and continued hope! Thank you. This is very interesting to me! In early February of this year I developed bilateral subdural hematomas due to long term use of Warfarin. I had survived a massive clot that had bridged between my lungs 8 years ago. The bleeds were both large though one had mostly clotted. I was 4 months into the ketogenic diet and was practicing fasting along with it to great success. My recovery from this has been rapid and seems to be mostly complete. I did have a small stroke and AFIB with it, have undergone a Watchman procedure to help prevent further strokes and I’m temporarily on a blood thinner ( not warfarin) for that. Both bleeds required craniotomy as well. God and this change in eating habits have kept me alive so far. While I could pass tomorrow, I greatly appreciate the extra time I’ve been given and I haven’t felt this good in many years. Mostly pain free, plenty of strength and energy and approaching age 69!
I watched the entire presentation. Some medical background which was of no benefit in watching this. A year and a half carnivore in the wilderness. Way above my intellect but I appreciate the level of knowledge presented. It's needed in the field of medicine. Please it's just an opinion no comments needed. ❤ Thanks😊
I am a 6 foot 157 lb, 69 year old strict Carnivore eating only Fatty Beef, Fatty Lamb, Sockeye Salmon, pasture eggs, and sardines. I have been doing MCT for years even though my body and brain pretty much run on saturated fat and ketones, MCT gives you that boost you need for long workouts in the gym. I also will do the keto salts from time to time. I fast everyday and fast the last three days of every month.
I just got the Stelo CGM. My A1C in April was 6.1, fasting insulin 9.6. With the biofeedback, this week A1C is 4.6 and insulin end of Aug was 6.7. When I see rapid increase on CGM I go lift weights for 5-15 min. Brings it right down. I'm continuing low carb and weights when needed 🙂
I marvel everytime I hear someone arguing that leaving out carbohydrates is dangerous. My liver is capable of making every carb I might need, I'm eating medicine to stop the idiot pumping it out in my blood, chill man chill... How is 153 kg down to 104 kg bad, that is what I lost. My T2D is under control HbA1c is 37 mmol/mol (5.5%) Tell me how any of this is bad? My goal weight is 82 kg, when I'm there I'm switching to Keto because I can't stand carnivore, and I'm going to stay Keto for the rest of my life.
Good idea to continue with what is still very healthy and fits with what tastes good to you. Interestingly, I started with keto not liking meat or eggs very much at all and am finding that the more I eat meat, eggs, AND fish, the more I like them. Still eating low-carb vegetables, though.
My understanding is that ketone esters act longer, but salts increase blood levels faster. Might I suggest you research Dr Ray Peat's articles on epilepsy and how bioidentical progesterone (formulated correctly as progest-E) can help prevent and remedy seizures?
@@IsakTougaard9 Thanks for the note regarding esters. I did a little initial reading about Dr Ray Peat and his website. It looks *really* sketchy so far. Do you have any convincing links or videos?

Can a keto diet help Ehlers Danlos Syndrome? I’ve been diagnosed for a couple years. Fabulous interview but your click bait title is totally misleading. I listened anyway because Dominic was very formative in my role as a scientific advisor for something known as Aerotoxicity: Hydrocarbon/organophosphate poisoning from the air-conditioning on aircraft. 100s if not 1000s of air crew and passengers are injured from this around the globe yearly. The ONLY cure is either time of a keto/carnivore diet.... I did this in 2012 or 13 starting with butter coffee, which led to the medical keto therapy for epilepsy and I reversed what I was told was permanent. Thank you Dominic...
I have been taking MCT oil doing 90% ketone diet got to be honest not completely. I do have a biscuit or two but my LDL has raised a lot. Does MCT have anything to do with it besides the biscuit? I just do protein, eggs, meat and butter and I make sure my meat is grass-fed and my egg are pastor raised My doctor literally told me to get off of the ketone diet but I'm not listening. I just got to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any advice?
Your ldl does raise on a low carb diet, there are tons of info on this on youtube. I have had a similar event of ldl rising on a low carb diet and i am sure I eat more carbs that you. At the time, it was between 50 and 100 grams on any given day and I was eating 3 tbs of rice because I love rice and i am not giving it up , as long as my carb intake doesnt exceed what I am aiming at. To cut a long story short, in the last month I have increase my carbs intake by about 40 grams to try and lower my ldl, It has increased by 50 mg/dl in 8 months! Hoping to do another test in about 1 months time
Why are you worried about ldl? Lipoproteins are under the control of your genes, whatever your level is that’s exactly what it needs to be, your genes know what they’re doing.

Keto is a good way to keep healthy. It is damn hard as we are so addicted to carbs! Calling it dangerous means you have no clue at all.
It can be dangerous in certain circumstances but the majority of people will never experience that.
Just about anything taken to an extreme can be dangerous, but this is generally safe for probably the majority of people at a reasonable level.
Even too much water consumption is dangerous to humans. So its all relative. Not the alabama kind😂
