I think the reason the referee gave the double yellow is because both were reckless and made no attempt to play the ball. No need for a caution if both were intentional. Good, brave refereeing
Problem is yellow stands for "warning". Martenelli didn't know he was warned the first time. He should have gone for a straight red if he wished to but two yellows at the same time beats the purpose of the card in the first place.

@@openmindchannel1978 im with you. Its gotten to the point where its a concern. We have not seen improvements despite knowing its a problem. You can't control the decisions of the individual but you can create a training plan to mitigate the likelihood.

Why is this controversial? Wolves played advantage which is why the ref didn't stop play after the first incident. The ref can still book a player for an incident where advantage was played once play stops. He was then booked again for the incident that stopped play. Nothing wrong

Look at stats compared to Burnley. Our fouls and areas for fouls are almost identical but they aren't getting players sent off despite being a physical team. Arsenal players are getting sent off because of both poor and biased anti-Arsenal referring. Nothing to do with Arteta but shite referring. Also I'm no fan of Arteta but I trust what my eyes and the facts are telling me.

The officials are just getting worse, plus the rules make no sense anymore. I dont see why football can't be a bit more rough and lenient it makes for a better game its never a red card. There is nothing in the letter of the law that allows this to happen. It was the wrong decision. The meaning of a yellow means 'warning'. You can't be warned and kicked off at the same time. Its like your boss warning you and giving you a termination letter at the same time. But having said that arsenal needs to rethink its strategy. The time wasting got on the nerves of the ref and he made them pay. He had already given two yellows for wasting time before the red card incidence (10 min span). Honestly it also got on my nerves as a fan. They were time wasting from 55th minute and only one goal up. Ridiculous.
@@living_water- I think you're right on the yellows, but I actually don't think time wasting that early on was a bad idea necessarily. Wolves hadn't lost at home I think, and Arsenal weren't exactly all over them. Having said that, it's not fun to watch at all so fair enough.

Martinelli was the only one to blow Michael Oliver out in the tunnel & not give him a fist bump, I asked everyone I was with why did martinelli blow him out like that, has Michael ever sent him off before, I also sai he was going to pay for that. Please go back and look at it. I've never seen it before either wether it was stupid or not. @@micah0190 we were better than them 11v 11.. and 10 v 11 our defense was solid.. we Created a lot more chances, lacazette could have scored 3 ( header, saka skill, and one on on) we deserved to win, wolves weren't able to break us open even when we went down to 10 men..

Martinelli probably wouldn't have made that second tackle or a similar tackle if he was given a yellow for the first one. How r u gonna go and give him 2 yellow cards together for two seperate incidents, if any other team did that its always either a card only or a warning.. Not saying the tackles weren't bookable, definitely were bookable but two cards for two incidents at once is vv harsh
Like i said, mentally these players are not okay.. its a problem we have for years and every youngster who comes is is learning that mentality.. its a nver ending cycle.. you also can see players like saka and martinell not really imlroving that much with the limited quality players around them.. not impressed with smith rowe at all.. not sure if he can get much better, lacks that last step to become a top player.. his runs and dribbles amazing, but when he reaches penaltybox he doesnt know what to do or does not react fast to shoot.. odegaard can never be placed in 1 sentence with ozil.. everything he does is simple passing to players next to him or pass back and every now and then a good deep pass, but he doesnt have what we need on 10.. never been convinced with the guy.. way of play is too save and no efficiency.. we need more from a 10.. he is also not scoring goals.. lacazette is finished.. saka is very young and certainly not ready for liverpool yet.. tierney and partey becoming afwul to see these days.. the players look static as if they are just learning how to play football.. wolverhampton was playing so much easier their passing is on fire like almost every team in the premier league except us.. looooot of work to be done if we want to succeed in champions league or even get a top 4 place..
