- I got a friend’s bike for the weekend and made an onboard video. It's a JDM 1996 Honda CB400 Super Four, with an open sport exhaust.

Just bought a 97 Cb1000 and must admit- this 400 sounds incredible. Didn’t expect that
A hangja eszembe juttatja a régi szép időket, amikor még nem egy meg kéthengeresekkel motoroztam. Igaz, az rég volt, 1994-ben és akkor is csak egy akkor 16 éves Honda CB750K-val túráztam, de a négy henger miatt az teljesen más világ volt. Ma ratatázós gépeken ülök, még a lányom CB 500-a is csak egy bamba tvin ehhez képest a gyönyörű hangú 400-ashoz mérten. Köszönöm szépen. Megkönnyeztem. Azthiszem ha lesz valami rendes sornégy a piacon, igyekezni fogok visszatalálni a szerintem a motorozás csúcsát képviselő sornégyuniverzumba. Soha nem fog tudni az összes többi blokkszisztéma hasonló örömet adni. Anno a sornégy CB-ről VFR-re szerettem volna váltani, persze annyira nem jött össze, hogy vagy húsz évig motorom se lehetett. Ez volt a büntim, hogy elhagytam a sornégymenyországot. A sornégy, rövidlökettel a legtutibb. Persze, ha lenne megint sornégy ötszáz kétütem, mint a Suzuki RG 500 Gamma volt, az még csodálatosabb lehetne. De ez sajnos már más világ. Mára minden elhamisult, már a konstrüktőrök kezeit is gúsba kötötték a hazug, lélektelen haszonmaximalizáló, üzletcentrikus "számbácsik". Agyonvágnak ezek, akik mindíg ugyanazok, mindent, amihez hozzáérnek. Hol találni ma ilyen csúcsszuper élményt adó sornégyest újként anélkül, hogy szàzötven-kétszàz lóerős, meg hárommillió feletti árú lenne? Én mondom, agyon van csapva a bankárok által minden rendes cucc. Már a kocsik is túlárazott hulladékok újonnan. Egyáltalán minden túl van árazva. Habzsolháp bankároké lett a technikai világ is, de nem értenek ezek semmihez a kamatokon kívül. Vagy háromhengeresek, vagy ezresek, vagy villannyal mennek benzin helyett. Pocsék lett ez a világ, mert a haszon lett benne az úr a szív helyett. Remélem összedől és lesz helyette olyan régi jó, szívvel lélekkel tervezett, gyártott, mint a nyolcvanas-kilencvenes évek voltak. Jézus Krisztus segíts! Utóirat: a CBX 1047-ES sorhatos is vadállat jó volt, meg az ováldugós NR 750 is, de a haszonelv hamar megfolytotta ezeket is sajnos. Pedig ma is piacon kellene lenniük az újmotorok között. Jellemző a sóher, agyonszabályozós bibsi EU-ra, hogy még a Bold - OR idehozása is befullad, nem hozzák ide a japók. Na miért? Lehet kettőt találni... Mert nem elég nagy hasznot, sápot lehetne lekaparni róla. Hová lett a motorsportból a szív világa? Péztárcára, meg bankszámlára cserélték azok, akik mindent csakis elrontani tudnak, mert ezt tanítja nekik a hitük. Hát legyen nekik az ő gagyisító hitük szerint, de mi meg kérjük vissza a régi jó szabad világunkat, de izibe... Túlzàsba vitték a pénz uralmát. Boldogasszony oltalmazz!
I'm 60 and am seriously considering one of these, my 1990 CBR1000f is a beautiful bike, but a heavy old girl. I want something smaller, lighter, more chuckable and high revving. Think I could have a lot of fun on one of these, thanks for a great vid 👍

How I ever wish I didn't sell my 92' CB400 for an MT09, its a great bike but the sluggish nature of the CB400 with that sound is amazing.

I have an immaculate Black 1995 'Version R' model (Bikini fairing/rectangle headlamp) with an oval Micron end can and sounds just like yours and I love it.
Clocks are the same style though on mine, Honda changed that temp gauge on the tacho face to a fuel gauge (A Godsend) and also gained 3 LED's integrated into the dials - one for oil, one for temp and one for side stand and so now means those four large circular warning lamps below the dials are now for Left Turn, Neutral, High Beam and Right Turn rather than Oil, Turn, Neutral and High Beam like on yours.
Love that F1 sound when they get in 'the zone'.

I would like to ask you what model year is that and how many miles/kms does that engine have , what's the fuel consumption and the bikes top speed . Thanks in advance ,i am thinking of getting one and i am trying to double check some facts so an objective experience om the bike is appreciated!( Oh and if the bike presents any issues often , service wise)

Just curious, what tires do you use on this?
I really wish Honda brought these bikes to North America the sound is truly amazing.
I'd much rather have a 400 series bike that has an inline 4-cylinder screaming engine then have to get a 600 or 1,000 because I'd probably end up either arrested or dead or both.
I've seen videos and heard rumors that Honda is going to bring back the cb400 with an inline 4-cylinder in 2025 Let's cross our fingers that it happens.🤞
The only 400 series motorcycle with an inline 4-cylinder screaming engine is the Kawasaki ZX 4rr and unfortunately it's a super sport style and I'm not sure if I like the leaning forward riding position.
I'll probably end up getting the Kawasaki and if Honda does bring back the cb400 I'll just trade it in on one of those.

For how long you own it you think is reliable and do you suggest it for first motorcycle
It’s my friend’s bike and he is totally happy with it. It’s reliable but if you buy one, don’t buy the cheapest. Everybody buys it for first bike so check everything on it before buying it.

maintenance probably cost a lot. especially with frequent use of vtec. Thats why i went with the cb400x instead

szia ehhez a típushoz mennyire jó az alaktrész ellátottság Magyarországon? Mennyire ajánlod ezt a típust? Vannak buktatói ?
szia, ez egy japán belpiacos a 90-es évekből, nincs hozzá minden sarkon alkatrész, de nem lehetetlen küldetés. kis keresgélés után tudsz magadnak rendelni online, vagy keresel egy megbízható motorszerelőt. van egy kis csoportja is ezeknek a motoroknak, ott nagyon segítőkészek.
ajánlani viszont csak ajánlani tudom ezeket. nincs nagyon baj velük, elég low maintenance. egy bajuk van: használni kell őket. olajat kell benne cserélni, és szeretgetni kell őket.
ha tetszik, vágj bele, nem fogod megbánni.

As a former owner: it gets very very tiring to rev this bike out so much, stress the engine, make all this noise, increase gas consumption, and still go rather slow.
Yes, your argument is also valid. But still it is a great beginner bike to learn, how to ride a 4 cylinder bike.

please tell me about your upshifts, are they clutchless or slipper clutch?
They are clutchless upshifts. But only above 7-8000 rpm. At lower rpm I always use clutch to spare the mechanics. It works well with 4 cylinder bikes.
@@analogmotography Thank you for telling me about it. I have the same motorcycle I never tried clutchless ones because I felt they are unsafe, May be tomorrow. I ll let you know about it.
