I think people don't know what you're asking them. They probably think you mean, drive it right NOW and say "No" because they're doing something at the time, or are weary of this strange person asking them questions. "Would you mind being seen in this car?", or even better: "I'm taking a survey, one quick question, do you like this car?" would probably get better results. Otherwise, it's just "Who's this weird guy asking me to drive his car?" lol.
We have a regular 500. I'm Swedish, live in Sweden. We have two cars, the other one being a Volvo XC90 last year. The 500 is a great little car for just hopping around, and it is fast already without some sport kits on it. Fiat cars are great for short travel everyday life, and so on. They had a bad reputation for electronic faults and rust, but nowdays even the Mercedes rust, and my experience from having this car 4 years, is that there have been no problems it is low on fuel, it is just easy to live with. Easy to park (Swedish cities are small in centres). Not a luxury car, but if you want a car with personality, small and fun it is nice. Just wrote this comment since I searched on dealers website and clicked further, I did not know they sold these small cars in America, since Americans drive American cars which are very big
I was one of the first 500 owners when they were released for sale in the US back in 2011. Having seen the Abarth version on Top Gear I was so excited for the release of this car. At the time the Abarth was not available in the US. I settled for a loaded sport trim model. I owned the car for about 6 months and traded it in. The car was def. fun to drive but I was hoping for more of a GTI experience. It lacked power for spirited driving. I sat in an Abarth at the auto show and that is definitely the one to get. You get proper seating and a much better package for squirting around. Get a loud color because the black one I had was invisible to SUVs. Cons no spare in Turbo models.
The hipsters a 1:02 said no because they probably thought the car wasn't cool looking enough... as they walk around shorts that are too short, shmedium shirts, and smelling like dog shit and BO. Surprised they didn't have a sit down strike about you driving a fossil fuel car while vaping and listening to Dave Matthews. Sigh... one hipster is one too many.
I like it, but not in yellow. The white looks much better. That said, I'd spend my money on a Fiesta ST instead. I'm uneasy about Fiat's reliability (buying Chrysler didn't help that either) and the extra doors helps when you have kids. I still bought a MK7 GTI though.
i rented fiat 500 for a day once, over Jetta. i was kinda curious. i regretted it from the moment i made my first turn. people who say yes in this video never actually drove this car. like me before renting one. looks cute.... yes. comfortable to drive.... hell no. its also not safe to drive. this kind of video is something new to FLD. definitely I want to watch more videos like this episode
I'd definitely drive it, because it's a fun, quick little car, and it has kind of an euro style to it, which i personally like. I wouldn't buy it, though, especially with this 1.4 turbo in it (same as the fiata), because it's overpriced, unreliable, and isn't practical.
You should of taken it up into the mountains on a twisty road, that's where these car really show what they're capable of. Even the reviewers are starting to get it, calling them "canyon carvers". James May once said "there's only 1 way to drive a Fiat, and that's without mercy". Most people that have a Fiat have never had an issue (including those that are already over 100,000 miles). In the end...get what you want, not what other people think you should get.
Hell No. I had a Fiat 500 as a rental for 2 weeks. I hated it. You sit too high, no power, and terrible blind spots. I was so happy to get back in my Subaru Impreza 2.5rs
Working for a dealership.. I think FCA is really building some trash...Bring back the 4 cyl SRT. Not this. Their new transmissions are BOTTOM LINE STUFF. I personally think its all FCA NOT THE SUPPLIER (ZF) FCA does their own programming to the TCM (Transmission control module) and that I think is where the problem is. I would trust my 99 neon more than one of these new cars from FCA.
God you guys are awesome and once again another great video honestly and this one was even better than the rest. I would not buy the car but I would def drive it and give me yellow id take it.
As bad as I want a Vette, I love the idea of a zippy little car. Ideally it would be a GTI though, not an Abarth. To answer, "yes" I would drive it, why not... just wouldn't buy it.
They like to break after a short while. Here in the long term test it was a complete write off. Engine + Gear Box broke before reaching 55k Kilometers. Beside of tons of small bugs ... So better lease the car. Its nothing you want to buy to hold it.
'it's a shit car' says the middle age lesbian looking guy wearing hot pants who probably doesn't own a car
'Asking would you drive it' and 'asking would you buy it' is 2 different questions. Which makes the score inaccurate
Something tells me this video might have been made more for entertainment than scientific accuracy. Just a guess though.
+clutchthepearls nailed it!
+clutchthepearls thats a really good guess!
It's not exactly a scientific test! lol xD
Also: Very small sample size.
:-)
Lmaooooo. Those ugly chicks at 2:48 probably though you were hitting on them. That's sad
Can't wait for Erica to host fld tomorrow :)
Who said that?!? 😉😉😉😉
+Erica Lourd 😍😍😍😘😘😘😘 we love u Erica
+Erica Lourd torque
I would most definitely drive it.
GTI for same price
it's not just about numbers. This things sound and charisma is to die for
+APEX Gaming yeah GTI.
cuzimaluzer777 Yeah I prefer Golfs
+Andrew A It's a no brainer.
Why are u not in sport mode?
You didn't even put it in sports mode -_- it's a 10/10 difference bro.
Do more of these kinda videos, they're a lot of fun to watch!
I drive one today at work and I can't remember the last time I had that much fun. The exhaust note with the turbo and the top down was amazing!!!
It's alright...tho not in yellow. Y would you pick the worst color?
Bright and cheerful!
Can you still get the Fiat 695 biposto?
its like 80k na?

500 är en rolig bil å köra. :-)
I already drove it. London has bunch of these on the road. great episode
Once I drove it, I decided I could not live without it!!! The most fun car stock I have ever seen!
These smartphone cameras seemed to have better video quality than the regular one.
I own one, I love everything about it !
Just ordered mine in yellow with beats audio can't wait to get it in June
Only bad part about the episode is that the car is automatic. I liked this and it looks like they had a lot of fun making it.
Derek D I saw you on the Snapchat of carthrottle, and it got me thinking why you guys haven't join carthrottle???

0:15 Derek fucked up. This isn't fld shortcuts
that was epic fun man. you should rock more of these out!

Id get it BECAUSE of the yellow! Actually, we have a bright blue e version, helps being really visible to other drivers when you drive a shoe
Lol this was quite a lot of fun! More of these!
i would drive it, also if it be black or white and with a manual , id buy it
Great short there fld, exactly how I hoped it would be - something we werent getting before. Have my well-deserved like! =)
Thank you!! We had a lot of fun

Derek isnt really a car guy. He a presenter/actor
+FastLaneDaily You need to rename this video "The Fiat 500 Abarth: Yes or Yes?"
did you turn on sport mode? makes a massive difference on the Abarth
Erica's laugh at 1:07! :D :D :D
I absolutely LOVED this special; regardless of my opinion of the vehicle. (It IS a pretty cool little thing.)
dude they probably thought they would win it
Yes I'd buy it color and all!
ME too!!!!
We'll be expecting you tomorrow Erica!
I really like this episode with the crew inside the car, I look forward for more like it
I would ride the yellow Ducati Supersport half fairing model seen on the sidewalk at 3:00-nice!
Looks great, but I think I'd buy a GTI because it's faster and more practical.
And boring!
I mean...why not? flashy color is a must for a hot hatch imo
Bring back FLD
Dude in the all black said he wouldn't drive the car, but he wore those shorts.🤔
i rented fiat 500 for a day once, over Jetta. i was kinda curious. i regretted it from the moment i made my first turn. people who say yes in this video never actually drove this car. like me before renting one. looks cute.... yes. comfortable to drive.... hell no. its also not safe to drive. this kind of video is something new to FLD. definitely I want to watch more videos like this episode
I think some people were saying yes thinking they might win the car or something.
Thumbs up because, BROOKLYN!
Thumbs up for Erica back-seat dancing!
What .. did you have a laugh track?
this concept is dope
if I could get a manual with anything but fwd, id buy it right now.
Would totally lease that car in the yellow color, great video idea guys lol :)
One of the best videos FLD has done. BTW, I would drive it but I wouldn't buy one. Not enough room or horsepower for me.
Yes! I'm on my second and it's a fantastic car (595 180hp). In America I can imagine it's a little odd but in Europe it's perfect.
Derek D was on carthottles snapchat story!
I'm surprised they fit 4 people in that little car. Yes, I'd buy one but only to put around town in.
Just bought a used 2015 Abarth yesterday.
Id drive anything for the sake of driving. Id pay for a truckload of salt and dump it into the ocean before id pay for that.
I'd definitely drive it, because it's a fun, quick little car, and it has kind of an euro style to it, which i personally like. I wouldn't buy it, though, especially with this 1.4 turbo in it (same as the fiata), because it's overpriced, unreliable, and isn't practical.
the audacity of the guy wearing dazy dukes. Rome is burning my friends.

i couldn't fit in a small car like that so no,im just too tall.
nice one guys .. keep it up
Yes all day!
the black guy with yellow jaket on said no ha ha
I really want to take it for a drive but there's no way I would buy one, it's way too ugly.
It's always going to be a hard sale, small cars in the US. On tight roads, nothing beats a small car. On big road, small cars... don't really work!
I'd drive it for a weekend but never buy one, better cars for the $
fuck u
Do you own one?
if they go, it's a no
its a fun toy, i'd buy it, wrap it in satin black or chrome black wrap
I miss FLD :(
Yes. That is all. Haven't watched the video yet.
Drove one before. Kinda liked it. Not enough to waste money on it.
Wow- you had a car-full!
Where's Sarah Sauer???
Hell No. I had a Fiat 500 as a rental for 2 weeks. I hated it. You sit too high, no power, and terrible blind spots. I was so happy to get back in my Subaru Impreza 2.5rs
I think most people are just polite. :D
Isn't this an Abarth and _not_ a Fiat ?
Fiat owns Abarth, and they make special editions of Fiat 500s with Abarth engines.
I'd drive it, but wouldn't buy it :D Looks like a cool little car though!
yes

I like that car! In green!
As bad as I want a Vette, I love the idea of a zippy little car. Ideally it would be a GTI though, not an Abarth. To answer, "yes" I would drive it, why not... just wouldn't buy it.
Please let Erica host the show tomorrow!!!!
There's a fucking H at the end
Ze Germanz the H is silent
Would I.... Yes. Have I.... Yes a 595 Competizione, 180 bhp in something the size of a shoe, c'mon what's not to like. .
I wouldn't buy one but I would drive it. I would rather buy a Porsche
Yay! Erica!
I'd get it because you can get one fully loaded for like 25 grand
if its free and i dont have to pay gas. ill drive it.
I would drive it, but I'm not sure about buying a Fiat. So far they have a terrible history with their reliability.
I wouldn't buy or drive it if it was given to me... what about Derek D? would buy or drive it? I would however drive the 124 abarth!
I'd drive it for sure
where is meghan!!?
I'd drive it, it's a lot of fun, but hell no i wouldn't buy a 500 Abarth.
I wouldn't buy an Abarth, but if someone gave it to me I wouldn't sell it.
Yellow is just that color that doesn't seem right on a car unless it's something exotic and really fast.....well in my opinion anyway
U obviously have never driven it!!!
buildmorefarms100
Ha right because me driving a car is going to magically change my opinion about it's color
If you drove it you might see how exotic and fast it is....
buildmorefarms100
driving something that is about as fast and exotic as a b-series swapped civic isn't going to change my opinion about the color
Yet the car attracted you to come watch the video review :)
TBH, this special was quick bad in my opinion. This car amazes me in many ways that Volkswagen, ford, and mini cooper could not.
...oh well, we all need to pay bills.
Almost bought one. But the financing didn't work
They like to break after a short while. Here in the long term test it was a complete write off. Engine + Gear Box broke before reaching 55k Kilometers. Beside of tons of small bugs ... So better lease the car. Its nothing you want to buy to hold it.
