A lot of people ( who are just getting into 80's metal) don't realize theirs literally 3 lead singers in this band, Mick Brown, Jeff Pilson, Don Dokken...... I love when all 3 of them can be heard equally.... So beautiful.
The songwriting talents of Jeff and Don really shine when you hear the songs stripped down like this. As much as George brought the cool guitar work, these two were the heart of a once great band. I hope Jeff will one day realize that his songwriting talents are missed and will either rejoin Dokken or create more solo material.
For those who saw this band live . You all saw good talent. I heard Dokken want to release a new record. Saw this band on tour with the Scorpions a couple times. How cool was that. This band definitely will always live forever in our hearts.
I saw them in 1987 opening for Aerosmith, After Dokken was done I wanted to leave but those in our loaded Van came too See BOTH bands lol So I had to stay, Aerosmith was OK, Dokken was BETTER!
They are extremely underrated, and they are a gem to be rediscovered. Dokken is very unique compared to other bands like Ratt,Twisted sister,Winger or Autograph.
I think it's pretty good without it. The solo is amazing but I think the song is so timeless that it can stand any version you throw at it and it will sound amazing (assuming it will executed well). My only gripe is that poor Don probably can't hit the high notes at the end, which in my opinion is what truly adds to the track's epicness.
vintage. dokken is by far the best of the 80's hard rock bands - probably because they weren't really a hair band... they just got caught up in the excess and fashion of the day. they've have paid the price ever since by being lumped into that category with a lot of embarassing and mediocre acts.
Song writing is an inherently political pursuit, and if you cant understand that, I hope you come to recognise it to be true soon. If art cant change your mind, you wont have a mind left to change.
Lynch is no longer necessary in Dokken. He doesn't get along with Don, and his guitar-playing sucks nowadays. Jon Levin sounds like George did back in the '80s, and he gets along with Don. I DO wish Jeff would come back though...
This is one of my favorite Dokken tunes. Underrated track. Such a post apocalyptic mood to the original.

one of the best voices in music...ever!
+MyHeroZero Dokken's voice is pure awesomeness!!
Word That!
One of the most underrated vocalists of all time
" Was " .. He can barely sing now.. very sad..
@@RexCars1 doesn't stop him from doing what he loves, which I respect and admire.

Most underrated and best rock bands ever.
I like it. I like singersongwriters to give a clear vision on society. And be vulnerable, and change the world for the gooder...
...and he throws in that "Dio Tribute" yell at the end. Priceless.

This song sounds better like this, they shoulda made an unplugged album.
there wasnt "unplugged" in the 80s
me just me There we're in the 90's, they still shoulda done it.
Dustin Martin there is an unplugged album is called "one Live night "
@@dannyveras that was a live album. Its not the same as this. They shoulda done a non live unplugged album.

nobody, just 2 acoustic guitars
