The thing about animating with tiltbrush is: 1. It would be very similar to 3d animation. 2. It would be completely different from 3d animation.
If it wasn't obvious, I feel hella excited yet confused about this subject. I do believe that animating in tiltbrush would be a bit more 'superior' to 3d model animation as it would combine the 'frame by frame' aspect of traditional animation and the 'consistent 3d model' aspect of 3d animation. This allows us to get the accuracy of reality with less animation effort yet be able to keep the abstractness used in drawn animation (scratchy lines, squash and stretch).
i think the modeling part would be like a traditional painting/sculpting experience, but the animation itself is hard to go in a frame by frame direction...i think it's more likely to be similar to animating in 3d, with rigging and controllers, and auto inbetween...because of the complexity of the model. Even with a simple design, being 3d itself already puts the frame by frame perspective in a whole new level. And I think it would be already awesome in that way. Cant wait to be in the same universe as some digital arts.
I HAVE GREAT NEWWWWWWS. if you have vr use quill- its like tilt brush but you can animate with it. if you get an oculus quest (standalone) you cannot use animation (yet) but tilt brush is possible for 400$ (for quest) +20 (for app)

in unity? not at all... actually with a little of programming all he needs to do is paint a ragdoll as the iron giant, set the 1st person can in his hand, then we the iron giant movements and done... and most of that is already pre-done if you take the time to look after it...

@Draw with Jazza for reference pictures, there's an option on one side of the tool bar that let's you find an image on the internet and transfer it to be a movable box in-game ( I know this because iHascupquake did this before drawing nyan cat) :)

imagine how much simpler 3D animation could be when you're controlling the model frame by frame much like a puppet with stop motion movies but way easier, or hell how much easier sculpting 3D models could be like zbrush but now controlled with your hands

I love the fact that Jazza wanted is to experience what he felt looking at his creation. He even found a way for people that don't own virtual reality gear, to be able to explore the drawing.

I think it would be really awesome for little jazza. Imagine being a kid that is obsessed with something and that your dad can draw them and you can "meet" this virtual or animated character and interact with it. And in a few years you could animate and stuff within the be or it being the film and you can interact with it.

the vive alone is $899 plus you need at least a $1500 to $1600 pc to run most apps effectively and at least a 4mx4mx3m room... so it dousen't cost that much is just false, so the headset is expensive and there are huge hidden costs

absolutely STUNNING! this was my younger brothers favorite movie when he was a kid I think he'll really enjoy this.
I completely love your work jazza. the vr is something im not comfortable in using because of how isolated and anti sensory it makes me feel to reality as I suffer with anxiety, the vr in something that would most likely make me feel really unsafe in that situation, but its really great to see you use the vr in order for me to feel much better about its experience.

Might be a next-gen way to make art. You put your vive on, do sculptures and other people put on their vives and go online and can look at your art as if they were in the museum. From all possible and impossible sides. Someone could even copy real museums in the VR or actually make VR museums for digital artists. But meh. Let's make rollercoasters and shooting range games! )))
Not that I complain, cuz vive costs like 3 times money I earn monthly anyway :)
There is a VR game called "Anyland" in which you can build anything out of geometrical shapes and you can actually go around and visit other people's places and what not and you can even build yourself an interactive avatar with blinking eyes/moving mouth and so on and you can see other people's avatars as you go around and explore people's creations. It's such a limitless game with so much potential.
This video starting at around 8:07 it reminds me of how I felt when I first started drawing no matter the time or effort you just feel amazing and idk this is such a feel good type of video to me, keep up the good work Jazza!

Place reference image in Documents > Tilt Brush > Reference Image folder. Then go into tilt brush and open it.

Aincrad itself is a floating castle with 100 levels to get through and each level has it's own citys and theme...you can access a higher level by finding and defeating the level boss of your current level :)

Dougler cool so can you just "step" into a specific type of 3d file?
Basically, you just load up the file in unity scale it to the size you want and put on the head set.
