- I didn't think I would get a chance to go to this years Aylmer train show but I managed to visit it at the last minute. This years show had some great stuff and I walked away with a few really good pieces, including some locomotives and rolling stock.
Oh my lord I could never find treasure like this. I could spend hours looking at venders and looking at what I could make my treasure. I’ve only been to one used model train shelf in this small train store I went to but this, is EVERYTHING I’ve dreamed of going to
That was a a very good looking show very amazing. I wished i had an answer to that mysterious CP RAIL switcher diesel. Looked very interesting. The CHESSIE steam engine that was running was no doubt ran as an excursion special in the 1970's in real life. TYCO also had a version of it in their days. I'm sorry you didn't get it. That would've been fun to see it run on your layout. I liked the Auto carrier in HO that was on the table displayed. Great show SMT Great video. 🎥👍✅
Man, it’s been a while since I’ve been to a train show. My club is having one next month, so I’m excited about that.

The one thing I always look forward in your videos are the locomotives. They are the highlight for me. You're a pretty fortunate guy to go to these.

My wife and I Miss Train Shows.
I have 30-35 brand new box cars, a few engine's and a big box full of other pieces for a Train set. I work for Real-Estate company's and clean out house after people sadly lose everything they own, That's how I received it. I'm interested in seeing more of how all this works. Thanks for sharing. 2:40 I have a Hallmark Christmas Tree ornament that looks a lot like that model, which is approximately N scale and I use as an all-year display in my room with my other Hallmark Lionel ornaments and N scale stuff (I don't have any motorized locos or track yet)
6:22 I've seen some of those in catalogs. They're called "Beeps" and are basically 4-wheeled GP7s, and were originally made by Kusan
Should’ve grabbed the chugger even if the axles are bad, knowing you love tyco and stuff it would’ve been right up your alley. At 20 CAD that’s a steal.
If my friend and I haf the time and money we would go no questions asked this show looks real good a variety of layouts and venders.sweet!
It's a D 08 shunter sold as a dock shunter in North America.

Note: 2100 is the experimental engine and 2100 2101 2102 and 2124 are from the reading railroad

I miss going to train shows,i miss collecting model trains. I want to get back into it badly and build a small layout.
SMT - On the Gatineau Express layout - the black track section on one of the spur tracks is a Lionel uncoupling/operating section. The gray bin next to that track section is for receiving logs or coal from an operating dumping car.

It is a O scale Beep, But brand I don't know, could be Lionel, RMT or RMT/Aristo-Craft after they bought them out.
I Googled this locomotive and was surprised that it was originally made by a company called Kusan and then was reintroduced under the Bachmann/Williams name. Pretty neat story behind that little locomotive!

That engine is what's called a "beep"
When an engine like a GP7/GP9, F-unit, or even a shay is shrunk down from an 0-4-4-0 (B-B) configuration to an 0-4-0 configuration
from the images I've seen, these little guys are mass produced, but i don't know from who
I just came back from the Kitchener model train show and if your looking for tons of n scale items for really cheap, they will definitely have it.

My wife told me if I go to one more train show, she’ll leave me. Boy, I’m going to miss her 🤣. But seriously, I love going to shows. You’ll never know what you’ll find. I’m lucky to get to probably 10 shows a year.
If you haven’t checked out Drive Tribe, give it a look. James May of Top Gear and later, The Grand Tour has restored/ repaired British HO/OO locomotives. James May’s Toy Stories have some model train programs.

Greetings from Chatham ( Although I don't live there anymore, I live in Alberta nowadays ) Your channel has aspired me to build my diorama I've always wanted to build. I have no room for a proper layout but I've always wanted one since I was a kid and I have a few engines, so a Diorama will do.

That unpainted Athern loco was either an ALCO or a Fairbanks-Morse
They don't have model train shows where I am right now anymore. The city decided it was more important to push casinos and video poker machines than to allow much in the way of conventions here.

I wish I was like you where you can go to all these things and have a lot of nice trains. I’m addicted to trains there my second thing in the world (first is my family) I just think thee super cool.i only have 1 steam engine and I wish I could get more I found this big boy for $89.70 that me and my dad want to get. I wanna say I love your channel and it’s amazing

I'm calling that custom built CP Rail "Stubby". It looks like a seriously shortened GP9 on a heavily modified frame. I might have a motor without flywheels and a small DCC decoder.
That little diesel is made by ready made toys/RMT, they are sort cheap, I have a Union Pacific one that never ran very well from factory
Only have 1 train show a year in my area but it's still fun when it rolls around

SMT - The Southern Pacific Daylight scheme locomotive at 4:12 is an Alco PB-1. It is a " B " unit for the Alco PA-1 passenger diesel.
Cool show, there is only one this year anywhere near us in April. Used to be three at one time.
Its an RMT switcher, they have made a bunch of models

The small Canadian Pacific locomotive is a play on the gp-7 locomotive, I actually own one of those but in a different road name

If I went to that train show I would get a lot of used locomotives from athearn, etc.
Those are some of the best locomotives to buy at a train show.
You should go to the Avondale train show in auburn hills,Michigan.its on the 19th of January.

Sorry, I thought you knew about it. One of the vendors asked me to come over to their stand because they said they saw me in a video about the arnprior train show where I "Did an interview about locomotives and then sold the interviewer a locomotive for 800 dollars" Thought that was pretty funny. Anyway, I will try and let you know next time this show comes along.

Have you ever been to the Amherst train show in Springfield Massachusetts, if you ever have the time you should go its really cool. The next show is in January.
I’m really hoping you bought the roundhouse/mdc rtr old time loco. I love those things, and they are just such good runners and pullers

That locomotive that you didnt know what it was is a beep from rmt trains its o gauge.
That CP switcher might be a toy train, because I saw different paint schemes of the locomotive shell (and I mean the shell), without a chassis.
Wow that is insane I have a LEGO model railway but that one is way more expensive

Very nice train show I save my money in coins when I save a bunch I use it for a train show in my area I’m saving it again for the same train show
I usually save up before a shop so I can go all out.
@@SMTMainline that’s nice I did it last year for the first time and I really liked it with the coins I saved up and now 2023 I am saving up more coins for the train show from my area and the flea market in my area which the coins I save up is my spending money

The engine that was purchased and put to I meditated use had a history it all started 1942 I think and the engine was numbered 2101 it was retired 1950 something and put back into service among on of its fellow siblings those being 2100 2102 2124 after there excursion career ended they were all split up 2102 was sent to the reading and blue mountain railroad and 2124 I am not quite sure but it was saved and 2101 and 2100 were purchased and 2101 was restored in 1 month and renumberd as American freedom number 1 and run pulling the train until swapped and purchased by the Baltimore and Ohio railroad museum and used for the Chessie safety express for one year until a roundhouse was caught on fire and sadly 2101 was stored there and was caught in the fire blazes and sadly un repairable and traded for c&o j3a 614 and 2101 was cosmectaily repaired and put on display were it resides today

So SMT, Are French Canadians Sarcastically Nice or are they Rude and then very apologetic? Show looked really cool, I have really bad luck and always seem to be doing something the weekend of the local train shows. That or they over lap with the Local Gun Show and I cant go to to both! Great video SMT, hope you found some nice stuff!
I'd say that most people here are sincerely nice however speaking french is a major part of the culture so if you don't some aren't too happy with you.
