After a day at Cha Am you understand why all the Thai people come here for the weekend, beautiful beach with many activities, cheap accommodations, delicious inexpensive food……makes for a great weekend get away. You came on a party weekend and it looks very crowded but wow what a fun time to be had…….always love your videos STL!

Fantastic venue, such a polite and attentive audience, no stereotypical beach side sword swallowers and fire twillers Reggae is supposed to be chill and this festival embodied chill. How did you find out about the reggae festival and was it free? I used to live in Hua Hin and then Cha Am, both of them have their pros and cons, Hua Hin more convenient for some things like Home Pro etc and immigration, Takiab is the best area in Hua Hin. Cha Am rents are a little cheaper than Hua Hin (I found) and there's some great seafood restaurants up the north end by the fishing village, but the whole place get's absolutely banged out by the Bangkok crowd at weekends and holidays....so does Hua Hin, but Hua Hin is bigger and can absorb it better. Hi Tanya, thanks for your views having lived in both HH & CA. I knew about the reggae fest as I've gone a few times in the past. Cost 690 baht/$20 not bad really for a fantastic day/night out and great live music. They could do a better job promoting it mind you.
The party at the beach side makes me think of back in the sixty again
That was great for the younger generations to enjoy themselves.

Great video series. Cha Am is a special place for sure. You were close on the old Ford pickup and correct that it's earlier than a 56. Pretty sure that body style was 52-54. 👍

Love all of your videos, but this one with the bug at the end was very cool. I have a '67 Beetle in baby blue (Zenith blue) with the same style rack on top and the exact same rear window louvers. Mine has the newer headlights which were on US models in '67, and of course, mine is left hand drive. Mine's not near as perfect as this one but I've driven '"Maggie" nearly every day since I bought it. Almost 40k miles in 3 years. Cheers.

Absolutely! For sure would slow travel to Surat Thani. Jump the train and stop in every small town.
I caught duenge fever on that island off of Trat . I flew home 22 hours in the bathroom 104 temp 13 days later healed great way to lose 10 lbs
Very nice tour. I watched parts 1 & 2. The Reggae festival looked like chill fun. Also most of the beach scene seemed low key enough to be enjoyable for me! Lots of good food! I'm really glad that you showed us the condos with monthly prices. Actually affordable if you're on a budget!

The places I have been in south east Asia , Chang Mai , Phuket , phi phi , Maya bay , Philippines- bohol , Cebu , ….this area looks like a gem ….looks a lot quieter and a safer place to ride Scooter……flights from Bangkok to hua hin look like layovers …..might be easier to take train ?

As soon as you walked into the festival the Zeltzer water gave me a big smile. I was introduced to Zeltzer in January while on Koh Samui for 2 weeks. Wishing I had it here in the states. As always a great video!!

Lots of People are moving out from Australia as its gone over the Top of course the weather is always good.As with Thailand as I love very much you do need the Aircon on more times then in my Home country but you can have a comfortable life in Asia of course all depends where you want to stay and how much Rent you want to pay per month.One thing you do need is insurance that is for sure but the life is great if you manage your money.
Thanks for the awesome video. We live in the countryside east of Cha-am and avoid the central town area on weekends and holidays as it gets so traffic jammy. Great town though, we are enjoying it.

We spend a couple of Winter months in Ocho Rios - we go there for 6 reasons: 1. Flight time under 4 hours from Toronto 2. Weather is always 28 - 30C 3. The food is amazing! 4. I've travelled to a lot of countries, (including Thailand & all Pac Rim countries) and never tire of the scenery in Jamaica with over 100 water falls. 5. The people are nice if you make an effort to chat with them. 6. Reggae music is the best with a lot amateur talent featured at local bars!

First time attending an saw myself in your video on the beach 555, what a great Music Beach Fest , Music was awesome, Job2Do, Sirajah,the band in thew Red suits playing Mariachi were amazing ,so funny it looked like my vision the entire time, didnt see that you got down to the Techno DJ tent on the Cha Am side of the concert , lots of smoking going down ...will try make this next year, was celebrating my 30th trip to Thailand of the last 35 years....
