Thank you brothers and sister for all your prayers for our Pastor and the First Baptist Dallas family. Job 42:10-17 comes to mind, it says that the Lord restored twice as much, all what Job had before and God will do it again for His Glory. Amen.
Great he said the people are the Church, not the building.
Why is that great? Yes the Bible teaches us that we are the Church (called out ones), but God delight when His True believers come together in His buildings. (Hebrews 10:25)
@@GANGSTER-TRUMP2024 assembling together doesn't just mean in a church building. It can be anywhere. The building is not the church just a place to assemble. Could be a home, coffee shot, tent, etc...

Robert J is one of the strongest and most conservative preachers in the world. This is a large, influential church. With all the craziness going on in the world, its sad to see yet another strange, disastrous event.

This is sad on an earthly level. I believe too many lose sight of the living Bride of Christ as has been described as the church. I have heard many people who are tempted to worship the structure of churches and cathedrals that have no sense of the Presence of God in them, yet man is prone to make them some sort of sacred cow, IMHO.

First Baptist Dallas in 2012 built a new "worship center"; however, fire destroyed the historic original sanctuary yesterday. Moreover, the Rev. Jeffress reminded viewers that the "church" is collectively the members of a congregation not just the building where they worship as the parishioners of Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral will undoubtedly agree. Upon first hearing this news, I contacted a cousin Online who was baptized & grew up at First Baptist, & she is heartbroken. I've attended family members' weddings & funerals at FBC Dallas, & it was a beautiful historical sanctuary, & like France's iconic Notre Dame, the church building will be rebuilt.
Pastor I've been following you for years, so sad to see this, your strength will help us through this time, GOD give him strength!

Father God, I ask you to strengthen this body of believers and use this evil for your glory. I thank you and praise you that no one was hurt and Pastor was correct when he said the church is made up of believers. The building is just the place where we come together and the gates of hell will not prevail against the church of Jesus Christ..

I grew up going there... was in the service when Dr. C told us that we had been willed a pipe organ we just needed to raise the money to have it shipped to us. We did that in the two morning services. It took about 2=3 years to install it. I take it that it is gone in this fire as well!! There are only two buidings still up from when I went there are the Ross parking garage and the Spurgen Harris buliding!!! This is not a good memory of the building but the people are the REAL church and they will survive and move on from this and will be stronger from this!!!! Shalom to all!!!

I attended that church from 80 to 81. When Dr Criswell was pastor. I got a Criswell study bible when they came out. Handed to me by the pastor himself. He was a great humble man of God and a natural church leader. I never met pastor Jeffries.
