They ok, God don’t live in buildings of wood brick and mortar
real estate developers really wanted that land!
I can imagine the feelings of the parishioners and those who know the church. I witnessed a church being totally destroyed by a severe thunderstorm lightning strike. Approximately 4 years later, a new church building sits on the sight.

That little property, surrounded by skyscrapers, is worth untold millions of dollars. Include that fact in the search for causes.

Arson and insurance suspect 🤔 the city has been fighting over that down town property for decades.
Those saying others want this property may not realize this is part of a campus. This sanctuary is mostly surrounded by new buildings that are part of the First Baptist campus.
I'm kind of tired of churches being called a "campus"

The "historic sanctuary" has been a sensitive topic in this church for years with the long timers wanting to keep it and the newbies wanting to tear it down. then it was placed on the historic register and it's almost impossible to tear something down when a building reaches that status. To get rid of it it basically has to catch fire, hey whadduya know??

As the pastor said, the church is not the building, but the people and thankfully there were no lives lost or people injured. However, the loss of a beautiful historic structure is heartbreaking. Modern architecture is so bland and even ugly. Nothing compares to the majesty, fine detail, and craftsmanship of the classic old styles. I hope they can preserve at least part of it. Maybe they can raise some funds by selling the bricks as souvenirs.

It's worrying about this surprise fire. A lot of people today when they want something and can't get it they take it having no regard for God or man

He specifically said today that people all over are offering to send money *but that insurance* will cover the loss. And most congregations *want* to support their church's ministry and are happy to give for the cause of Christ. Never underestimate the love followers of Christ have for His cause.

That's what Robert Jeffreys gets. I lived in Wichita falls Texas when Robert Jeffries was the pastor over the first Baptist Church there. I came in contact with him one day at the local hospital and he acted like a real prick. He's just in it for the money.

I was about 6 years old and was involved in Sunday School and other church activities (Summer camp, swimming, bowling... etc). It was a fun and spiritual place to be. After Robert Jeffries took over, it became a place of judgement. He always looked down on those that he felt were below him. The after school programs that we as kids loved were removed. I gave you ONE instance. Keep your mouth closed because you have no idea. Goodbye snowflake ❄️❄️❄️.

I used to go to Sunday school, summer camp, we would bowl (yes, the Church had a bowling and he shut it down because fun was not allowed) and we would go swimming at the church. When pastor Robert Jeffries took over the church he eliminated all of that. No more bowling no more swimming no more summer camp the only thing we had was Sunday school. He brought a sense of hatred towards youth activities. My encounter with him at the hospital was just one instance of this man's judgemental behavior. He basically viewed himself superior to everyone else. When he left Wichita Falls for more money that told me everything that I needed to know about him. He is in it for the money. He did nothing to benefit the community. No outreach programs, no services for the poor.... nothing. It was a blessing to see him leave. I can guarantee you that I know more about him than you ever will.

The property is not transferring to somebody else just because the structure burned. The church owns it. If anything...an arson motive would need to start with how much the church collects on the property from insurance. They have already said they intend to rebuild it, & on top of that they own a ton of other stuff in that area covering about 6 square blocks of super expensive real estate. Nobody is getting the land even if somebody on the outside set fire to it.

Absolutely it can be saved there's nothing wrong with this structural integrity of the brick it doesn't get damaged during a fire, long as all the walls are still standing it's fine add a little bit more mud for support put another roof on it replumb all the electrical water gas everything and keep going it can be saved perfectly fine if they say no get a second opinion but as of right now it's salvageable it's saved

I’m heartbroken over the loss of this beautiful historic building but Rev Jeffress is constantly making hateful comments about the Judgment of God! He claimed that he Coronavirus was a Judgement of God. So I guess by his own logic when something tragic happens it’s Gods Judgement.
