@@getweldsoon1113 , a discussion would be in order for newer wantabe’s I think. The importance of being the best. Not second best, but the best! Even though I always said, I’m the second best welder on this job ( everyone else is tied for first). The mentality will make you a great welder. Not to ‘ever’ flaunt it. That’s a way of loosing respect of your peers and loosing a job! A haute welder is like an ulcer in your mouth you can’t get rid of. Realizing you can’t get there in 10-20 years, oh yeah, ya just think ya can. Ya can’t!!!!!!!! But keep up that mentality and it will come. Unless you have a wealth of experience in all types of welding along with different alloys, positions, stress!!!, pressure, all testing requirements (X-ray, side bends etc), traveling 1000 miles to take a weld test to get a job, heck, I’ve traveled 2500, along with many other aspects. So what does it really take to be the best? You may be the best tig welder but also have to take a 6010/7018 out along with that tig test to get the job!!! Can’t do it? Your not even close to the best. I could really come up with a lot more but that’s a start. Been there done that and never was the‘BEST’. It’s a dream. And the sooner they understand that and try to make that happen the better they will become. My two cents
@@getweldsoon1113 , oh yeah… the best advice I could give a welder is to watch!!! Put that hood on and watch!!!!!!! No matter how experienced you are you will learn. Even from a newer cohort. Ask questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now bosses will expect your work to take half as long.
