i loved this video... nothing new there. i as well am very well caffeinated and i’m sipping on my coffee as we speak. you’re so naturally beautiful and just freaking adorable. it makes me giggle that you make notes because my family calls me “the professional note taker”. it just helps me get things accomplished and it helps them not to forget certain important things. i adore my $6 elf mascara, but i’m def going to try the maybelline falsies mascara next.
My personal favorite is the Covergirl exhibitionist uncensored extreme black mascara. It’s a wet formula.
That was my daily go-to for a year, but the last 2 tubes were gloopy & just awful.
I've always had a curl problem with my lashes. The falsies is THE best I've discovered. The curl stays all day!!! Love you! 😘
I have tried so many mascaras over the years but I always come back to L'Oreal Voluminous waterproof...its perfect.
I recently bought this and it was the driest formula I have ever seen. Did I get a bad tube?
I absolutely love Believe beauty Volumin'eyes mascara! Its only available at Dollar General but it is incredible! I picked it up after seeing Allie Glines rave about it over and over again on her channel. I have since recommended it to my co-workers because they have commented on how great my lashes look when I use it! I believe its $5 and doesn't flake or anything weird!

Yes! The sky high is so hard to remove. I actually love the new Wet n Wild big poppa mascara.
pretty sure the sky high mascara is a tubing mascara, so that might be why it is hard to take off!
I think you’re right. The Maybelline website says it has fibers in it. I’ve found if I use cleansing oils with the Thrive tubing mascara it is so much harder to get off then just warm water. Also explains the wetness/slight sticking together of the lashes. The Thrive one has that same effect. At least for me it does.

Yes it’s a tubing mascara so if you put a cleansing balm on you totally make it hard to take off and it will get gummy and weird..... warm water only comes off easier than thrive and doesn’t give me spider lashes like the thrive either

I love the essense bye bye panda eyes mascara ;) My lashes look fluffy, long and volumized without flaking or smudging

I have been really liking the L’Oréal air volume mega mascara. No one is talking about it but it is very light and makes my lashes look so fluffy and full.
First of all, congrats on 600k! Just wow! You are one of my favs for sure. Super real and down to earth. So I tried the Elf and it smudged pretty bad on me. However, I do apply on my bottom lashes. I am currently using Honest Beauty with the primer on one end and really like it. I am definitely going to try the Maybelline Falsies though.

My favorite part of the Sky High is that for me it acts like a tubing mascara when I remove it! That’s so funny that you had so much trouble getting it off

Have you tried the physicians formula in your bra? To warm it up and see if that helps with how dry it is. Or in a cup of hot water has worked for me in the past.
I had hard time removing the sky high mascara and I just returned it for that reason 🤷🏼♀️
Recently started using the Sky High and love the natural but feminine look it gives. I love Bambi eyes, Telescopic and Lash Sensational. Want to get the Elf and Lash Lift next!
I use cleansing oil, no trouble at all getting the Sky High to come off. Love it, the ELF and the Volume Air
I feel like you should try loreal telescopic with Maybelline colossal curved brush😍😍or like a round 2 of this video with those included....i use them together tho....thanks for this video🤔🤗also i love your number 1as well...my friend recently recommended it to me😍

I have an odd routine right now where I use Maybelline Lash Sensational for one coat, then a quick swipe of Loreal Voluminous Waterproof to define and separate. It seems to last all day without smudges or flakes!
But one good mascara would be better! 😄🌷
I have both of those maybelline mascaras and I like both; however, I hate the flimsy wand on the sky high. It drives me crazy. I find it flicks little mascara bits all over my cheeks. The formula is nice though, especially after a week or so. Neither is my favourite mascara. Personally, I have never found any drugstore mascaras that are better than high end ones. The Mark Jacobs At Lashed and Charlotte Tilbury Legendary lashes vol 2 are the best I e ever used for volume, length, no flaking and keeping curl. Just my 2 cents! 💖

I got the elf mascara love the light weight formula of it but I have to be careful when applying it the wand is plastic bristles so hard and could harm the eyelashes , I still use it for the voluminous eye look .
Sky High gives me amazing length, but it is really hard to remove.

I typically wear waterproof formulas so that's the version I bought in the Sky High, but it only comes in waterproof brown, so that's kind of annoying. I'll have to pick up the regular version in black then! Thanks for the tip!
Maybe that's why everyone is saying it's so difficult to remove? I find that kind of strange only because the waterproof comes off pretty easily so I don't understand why everyone is saying the regular version doesn't remove with makeup remover, but if it's a tubing formula, maybe that's why!

IIRC, BeautywithEmilyFox used to do great mascara comparison videos, complete with close-ups of the lashes. Would love if Jessica could do this in the future so we can more easily compare!

So today is day one, and the mascara is good. I think it definitely looks better on Jessica than me. I personally like the elf one better. But it’s a good mascara. I found because it is a drier formula that it was somewhat hard to build up that second layer? But it does look good :)

@@chaosbecomesher Then you will like this one. I find it did do a great job of volumizing and fanning out the lashes. I guess I prefer the happy medium of not too wet, but not too dry, or maybe just a little longer to play with it. I will try doing my second coat quicker tomorrow to see if there's a learning curve. Overall it looks good on the lashes, just not my ultimate favorite so far :) (that would be Covergirl lash blast in the orange tube for me!)
Sky high is a tubing mascara. I was struggling to remove it until I found out. But it removes really easily just with plain hot water. Not quite like other tubing mascara, it more melts off, but now it's my favourite mascara.
Okay, I was thinking that it was a tubing mascara when she said that it did not come off with cleanser ..good to know 🙂

Totally agree. I bought the elf mascara because of her recent elf makeup try on video, and sadly reporting that I had to return it because it just did not work for my lashes😅, I should’ve known better than to compare my lashes with hers, every mascara looks gorgeous on her no matter the brand. But here I am watching them again. I just love all of her content. 🥰💕
Yes! Having great lashes already 8s a bonus for sure lol.....then there's my lashes (barely there) that when a mascara really wakes them up, and works with length and volume is awe inspiring!!!
I have crap lashes and use the Cover Girl Super Sizer waterproof, and use a curler beforehand. If I really want to lock that baby down even more, and add -- I add L'Oreal Double Extend tubing mascara over that, but you HAVE TO WORK FAST and do ONLY ONE EYE AT A TIME. :)

I bought it because she liked it so much, I wore it once and it was hands down the WORST mascara I’ve ever used, but to be fair I am a mascara fanatic, so I tend to wear the higher end kinds and I have yet to find a drugstore one that I like very much. I’ll keep searching because I’d love to stop spending $20-$30 on mascara 😂

The Maybelline falsies lash mascara smudged AND flaked sooo bad on me 😭 I loved the look of it but it just wouldn’t stay put 😬 I like the sky high one but my fave is not drugstore but the Lash Idole from Lancôme ❤️❤️

Please try Dollar General Store's Believe Beauty mascaras. I've used the purple tube and find it pretty good but the wand is a bit pokey.
If you do make a series, make sure you try Believe Beauty, Maybelline, Cover Girl, and Lorreal.

For me I'm enjoying the L'Oréal telescopic original mascara in blackest black ; it's easy to apply , gives curly high voluminous lashes with light weight feel and holds the curls 👍🏻

I think a lot of the hype on social media comes from people "jumping on the bandwagon” and wanting to "fit in". When something is popular, but someone doesn't like it, it is common for them to either make themselves believe they like it, pretend they like it, and/or think the problem is them not the "trend".
Yess, for sure. We tend to try 'make' ourselves like the hyped thing even though it is clearly failing us, giving it way more chances we'd otherwise give a product.
The Maybelline Full N' Soft waterproof mascara is still my ultimate favorite. Never budges, lightweight but still impactful. Feel like it's a hidden gem always tucked in the bottom corner of the display
😊 maybelline full n soft was my first favorite mascara! Never liked the great lash, but full n soft was amazing.
I think it’s so interesting people find the Sky High hard to remove because I just use CeraVe moisturizing cleanser or rub my eyelashes in the shower and it comes off no problem. It’s a tubing mascara so it comes off so clean with no flaking or smudging.
Everyone has the same critique of glossier lash slick when it came out. It comes off perfectly with the CeraVe cleanser. Won't budge before that, which is great.

Can confirm: Sky High is freakin’ hard to get off. I’ve had to use eye makeup remover before or after my cleansing oil, and I don’t have to do that with others.
Agree. I use oil make up remover and IS harder than my essence mascara
It is. I LOVE the way it looks but it’s one draw back is removal. I use a cleansing oil or a cleansing balm and it’s still difficult
I love the sky high but now that I’m reading these comments and watching the video it makes sense my mascara has not been completely coming off and I am losing lashes. I use a last serum as well.
Perhaps an easier technique is to use a warm wash cloth. I rinse my face and then have those cloth discs from dollar tree that I run under hot water and let them rest on my eyelids/lashes for like 40-60 seconds . Then I do the whole double cleanse and it comes off much easier. I find I don’t lose lashes or left with mascara residue.
**This was my experience with that sticky formula from Elf Volumizing & Defining Mascara.
It's a tubing mascara, use plain warm water, trust me it's a game changer.
Question: What does 'natural bristle' mean? Aren't they all plastic? I know that some are more plasticky and rubbery with shorter bristles but I don't really get what we classify as a 'natural bristle brush' ?

I completely picked your 5 in a row, and agree with 4 out of 5. I apply the SkyHigh Mascara starting at the lash line and slowly rolling up. On my 2nd coat that I apply immediately after the first, I will wiggle the brush just a tiny bit at the baseline to give my lashes a good foundation to hold them ‘sky high’ all day. This mascara has been in my rotation for at least 10 weeks, and I simply remove it with a cotton pad and Garnier Micellar Water. I do hope this might help someone out, because it is on the higher side price wise, I want you to get your money’s worth. Thank you for an excellent vid Jess❣️💯
The elf one didn’t do it for me, didn’t do much to my non lashes and left me with panda eyes
I agree and mine felt super wet..I wore it for a full week hoping it would dry out a little bit never did🤷🏻♀️
Yeah it was really wet, took forever to dry, I’d be walking around 15 mins later and blink wet bits all over my face.

Same girl. I had to return it. I think because Jessica doesn’t wear it on the bottom lashes she didn’t have the same problem. Nice volume but smudged worse than most.
I love the Falsies mascara too! I accidentally bought the waterproof formula and it does not budge and easy to remove. I also love the Exhibitionist (not the waterproof)... maybe even a little more because the brush is slightly smaller and easier to apply to my stubby lashes. Neither dried up too fast either.

I think mascara depends a lot on your lashes. Lashes are not created equal. I have sparse lashes and I find benefit bad gal works best on mine.
Soo the wand on Sky High is a dupe for Bad Gal Bang!? That wand is my FAVORITE 😻😻
Bad Gal Bang has been my ride or die, and I LOVE the Sky High mascara. I use the waterproof because I have watery eyes, and it comes off fine, just use micellar water on the lashes after your cleansing routine.
Honestly, I bought the Sky High and is my favourite!!! I love that type of wand and didn't also have any problem taking it off.

Bambi is a really nice daytime look, but UGH those Loreal mascara are hard to remove!

I am loving l'oreal air volume, it does not flake or transfer to my eyelids (I have very long lashes so transfer is extremely common with most mascaras)

It worked really well for me too but Jessica didn't like it in a speed review. She said it smudged for her.

Best mascara I’ve had so far is Milani highly rated. It’s been the *only* one that actually volumizes without looking clumpy.
You should include a 1-10 scale of how easy a mascara is to take off! I love mascara recommendations but I always wonder, if it’s not waterproof, is it a bugger to remove or is it easy?
Essence Lash Princess, the green tube. After using it for a week the formula turns into pure perfection!!!

I love the waterproof princess. There’s another one from Essence I love and it’s waterproof. It’s purple and I think there’s a heart on it. Volumizes the lashes but not so much on length but still like it.

Mayballine steletto lash and clump crush from cover girl are my favorite
If anyone has sensitive eyes, try removing mascara with baby shampoo it comes off easy and its gentle. Hope it helps :)
coconut oil is another great sensitive eye makeup remover!

I’ve been using SKY HIGH from MAYBELINE for a few weeks now. I 100% agree this mascara feels like a waterproof mascara. I did the same thing where I checked to make sure I didn’t buy the waterproof version. It’s a great mascara but you have to work a little harder then normal to remove. I let my cleansing balm sit on my lashes for a few minutes then wash off.
I don't mind the finish of the sky high mascara but that brush drives me crazy 😭 it's far too flimsy and the finish isn't good enough for me to be stressed out whenever I use it 🤣
Have you tried the new L'Oréal Air Volumen? The first time I used it was messy but a few days later I love it.
The only only ones I have tried from your list are the sky high and the false lash. I like the sky high a little more then the false lash but they are not my favorites. I have tried the Bambi mascara and for me its in the same category as the other 2. Still don't know if a like them.
My favorite mix right now it the Air volumen with the sky high. The L'Oréal gives me volumen and the maybelline gives me length.
I absolutely love that Covergirl in the mint green tube and have repurchased it twice. I never get any flaking at all. So strange how it wears on everyone differently!

The Falsies Lash Lift is my ultimate favorite, followed closely by Lash Paradise. But that slightly wetter yet dry formula is definitely what wins me over 🙂
i tried the maybelline sky high mascara and hated it!! but the internet really had me feeling like i’m the only one lol i tried it for months and i’m positive that formula did absolutely nothing for my lashes 🙃
I love how the Elf mascara makes my lashes look... bit I have oily skin, with oily eye lids and it smudges under my eyes after a couple hours. I'll use it up though.
Milani eyeshadow primer on the lids and under the eyes might help with that! My eyelids are super oily and that's one that really controls it. Also eye primer under the eyes seems odd but works for me!

I've got dry skin but sunscreen under concealer makes mascara transfer sometimes. I'm pretty much translucent and need of an eyeshadow primer anyhow! Thanks for the tip!
Fiber or tubing mascara s are the best for smudging or flaking. I love Glossier lash slick. I just got the loreal million lashes (not waterproof). It might be a dupe. But heads up. The waterproof is straight tar.
I actually LOVE the Covergirl mascara!!! I have always loved their Lash Blast mascara and got this version after having lasik eye surgery in January and wanted something that wasn't going to bother then and it has been perfect. I haven't had any flaking at all - which would have been terrible after lasik. I love the wand and the way it never ever leaves my lashes clumpy and makes them look full! I am curious about the Elf and the Falsies - will have to try those next.

I absolutely hated the Sky High... I had spider legs like lashes... two coats and bam... ruined... and I also love the Falsies Mascara it is my favorite next to Lash Paradise!!

My favorite drugstore mascara is Essence Lash Princess. I actually want to get and test all these drugstore mascaras now but I have a weirdly large backlog of mascara to go through right now, mostly from sub boxes, and they are all high end. So far favorites include Ilia, Superhero, and any mascara from Benefit. Gosh, I love trying new mascara 😀 I would LOVE it if you would do more videos ranking mascaras, especially drugstore ones that have been out for a long time.

You should make this a weekly series where you start with your winner from this, use a new mascara during the week, and then compare them on Friday (like foundation Fridays but with mascara). And then you take the winner from that week and compare it to a new mascara the next week. And so on, and so on. You could be the mascara matriarch! Mascara mama? Name could be workshopped.
