  • The front entrance feels so complete with the addition of Versetta Stone. One of the goals with this build was to create a low to no maintenance home without sacrificing design.

    Absolutely love this series - would you consider showing a cleanup video - all the work that goes in leaves scuffs and dings and trash and concrete slurry etc . I think people seeing just how careful we as contractors have to be and how much work goes into being clean would help justify what it is that we do beyond our craftsmanship

    I used my table saw with a Hardi blade for cutting all my soffit material. There were hundreds of feet of cuts. I was almost done when the saw went up in smoke. I'm pretty sure it was the concrete dust that killed it. For that reason, I used a very old circular saw for as many cuts as I could as I considered it sacrificial. I also used my 32 year old Delta miter box for cross cuts on my siding. So far it's still functioning, though it did consume a drive belt.

    • @MrPostFrame
      @MrPostFrame  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes that happens. Definitely don't plan on doing a ton of work with material like this without investing in another tool option.

    I have that same folding ladder. A Krause if I remember correctly. Make sure to spray oil into the lock/unlock joints since those little pins tend to get stuck if anything gets in them.

      @thelostarchivesserialvault5353 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrPostFrame Yep, those little red/orange things will tend to jam making it impossible to fold the ladder back together. I would also recommend drilling and running a screw/bolt thru the base that holds the horizontal foot brace on. It comes loose easily. Good ladder, just some bad engineering. I ended up drilling in an eye bolt on the base side so I could hook a bungee cord to it and hook the other end around a stud so the ladder base won't slide out. The stone was a nice look. It's all in the precision cuts that makes the complex look simple...

    Rather than grinding the bottom tab off, would grinding the back of the lower 'angles' on either side to a 45 degree angle work?
    It may allow you to bring the piece in horizontal and raise the top end to a vertical position without the back 'thickness' pinching/binding on the wall.

    little off topic, but i wonder if you applied some kind of coating similar to what they spray in truck beds to the outside of your house if it would stop the condensation issue, i think they make it in white.... just a thought. I'm about to start building a house similar to yours with a metal outside, i await with baited breath to hear how you're going to fix this issue. If you're building a house with metal siding and roofing you need to educate yourself real quick about insulation and condensation. Outside moisture has nothing to do with what is going on. If you don't have that figured out yet, please don't start to build.
