21:49 you have to remember that Thor was a mortal during this time (as confirmed in the 1st Thor movie) until he was able to become worthy again and pick up the hammer. So it's perfectly plausible that an arrow would kill Thor in this scene.

What I find weird is that thor is stripped of his powers when exiled. The implication is that his strength and endurance are powers instead of part of his asgardian biology which I find very odd

@@Kingslayer880 that's what I mean. Thor fought that agent but the agent was holding his own against a god so clearly thor doesn't have his superhuman strength. This means his strength is a power instead of something asgardians naturally have. The power differential among asgardians, jotuns and humans is already confusing but this makes it so much worse

1:17 I wish that this episode was about BOTH Steve and Peggy becoming Super Soldiers. To be honest, Steve kinda NEEDED the Serum with the sheer amount of diseases he had. It was honestly baffling that he survived the Gun Shot in this episode. Hell, Zemo hates the Super Soldier Serum but you can't deny it's potential medical uses. Steve had Diseases that we still can't cure today and the Serum that was used on him Cured him.

Yeah. It wouldn't have mattered if they'd bit him. As soon as he realized he was feeling a bit off (and our heroes realized it when they were bit, so he would have too), he could have instantly cured himself. That was silly.

21:55 I'd hate to defend this series. As of Thor movie, Thor was for the most part just a beefy human, since he was demoted and depowered by Odin. I'm pretty sure he would have died to an arrow.

When it comes to "What if... Peggy Carter became Captain America", I think it would of been cool if Steve lost his arm, got experimented on, and got turned into a super soldier. Basically a alternative version of the Winter Soldier. Imagine Steve vs Peggy, and then struggling with their romantic feelings for each other while Steve is also dealing with the brainwashing by Hydra
That would have been sooooo good.
You know the biggest inconsistency is that we're now told there's only one watcher in the entire multiverse, while during Guardians we're shown several watchers getting together to listen to Stan Lee's stories.
I like to think he was trying to hide his fuck up from the rest of them while they were on vacation in space Australia.
I'd guess he's a multiversal Watcher, while there are several universal watchers within the MCU. Like a heirarchy of watchers.
The one watcher that watches earth... or our area. The watchers are a race...
When does it explicitly say that? The watcher also mentions something about an oath he had to take. If there aren’t other watchers, who gave him the oath?
@@thekachigga9255 Maybe the one from What If is in charge of a specific cluster of the multiverse. That could be the reason why the universes in the show are only one decision apart and why the same infinity stones work in all of them.
I like how in the final fight captain carter says “don’t give him time to think” and despite being a super computer and having a second or two between hits he doesn’t use the the stones efficiently even once while his life depends on it

I’m surprised there wasn’t a series of sins pointing out how unbelievable it is that simply because of T’Challa leaving earth the collector was somehow able to kill Hella, Thor (along with somehow transporting his hammer despite the fact he probably isn’t worthy), and seemingly killed Captain America even though he should have no idea who that guy is.
What If was generally so well done. I loved the animation style once I got used to it, and I found the stories being told to be incredibly interesting; specifically the idea of an amped up Ultron having the strength and intelligence to use the full power of the stones. SO cool. That said, I wish they didn’t include the big team up battle at the end. We’re barely attached to any of the characters like we are in the main universe and one of the characters we hardly know because her episode got cut entirely. Each individual story was a 10/10, but that team up was shoehorned in and it hurts the other stories in my opinion. That Killmonger episode for example was one of the best stories to me. I loved how detailed his plan was and how meticulously everything fell into place. And right when I was getting hooked, the episode ended. No big deal, I figured they’d return to it. But then the finale comes and they kidnap him from his own story and stick him in a pocket dimension.
I thought that was one of the worst of them, because it was just "What If... Killmonger carried out the same basic plan, but with slightly different details?" Yay, I guess? No difference in vision, no difference in characters, no difference in motivations, no ultimate difference in outcome (except T'Challa and Stark dying), just Killmonger carrying out the same plan in more or less the same way.
I thought the T'Challa as Starlord one was the best, because it showed how different things could have gone with a real hero replacing that idiot Peter Quill. Having Starlord talk Thanos out of his grand plan amused me:).
That’s initially how I felt about the Killmonger episode but that was sort of my point in the original comment. I wished the episode was longer or that there was a part II because I would have loved to see the aftershock of Tony and T’Challa dying so early into the MCU. Would Pepper and Shuri have been able to stop him? And if so, then what? That story’s now effectively done since he’s stuck in the pocket dimension. Maybe Doctor Strange 2 will free him since it seems Supreme Strange and Zombie Scarlett Witch are in it, but who knows? I loved the T’Challa Starlord episode for the same reason you did. That universe seems superior to the mainline universe in literally every way aside from cap and Thor apparently dying since the collector has the shield and hammer. Plus it’s eluded that Ego ends up destroying the universe which doesn’t sit right with me. How is Quill able to beat him but T’Challa, who has done literally everything better than Quill up to that point, can’t? Hopefully there’ll be a season 2 to What If so stories can be expanded and new ones can be added.
The What If series is bad, 2/10.
@@Eclipsless Because the T’Challa episode made T’Challa into a Gary Stu, and the episode was just Marvel telling us that Star Lord should’ve been black, otherwise he wouldn’t have been famous before the events of Volume 1 if he’s white, which is just racist.

I just don't understand why in the zombie episode, iron man didn't fly into the air and pick them off that way? And also how'd he get bitten?? He is fully armored and armed with more tricks up his sleeve than a magician on crack!
The same argument goes for Wanda, she is too busted to get beaten by zombies. Realistically they shouldn't have even been able to get close, especially if vision is with her 24/7
The infinity gauntlet shown about half way through is already confirmed to be fake since the real deal wasn’t made until thanos went out of his way to have it built. So it stands to reason that this one is probably fake as well
1:11:12 ultron is able to use those stones because he is still in a universe, regardless which universe it is. In loki, it was established that the stones don't work if they aren't present in any universe
How did they work in the watcher's dimension? It is a dimension between universes...
@@Vlad0321 no matter what. It's still a dimension. It might be a dimension with different laws of physics and time, but still it's there. In loki. Tva is shown outside the time. They dont exist in a dimension. They just exist. Neither in space, nor in time. Watcher's dimension was It's own space which he used to navigate through other universes. Take it as a bridge between universes. But it was still something that existed within laws of time and physics, no matter how perplexed they might be
@@Vlad0321 The stones didn't work in the TVA because magic doesn't work. It is never explicitly stated why magic doesn't work, but it is probably because of technology somehow blocking it (maybe technological runes, that's a theory)

That’s the only problem I have with this video
to clear up confusion abt 1:04:00 , the watcher(s) don’t have the ability to see all of everything all at once, but they can look into each one individually. a good contrast to that is heimdall, who can see and hear everything in the 9 realms. sure the watcher(s) can see the multiverse, but they can’t perceive them all at once. Also, he’s surprised by Ultron because he is witnessing an event that is not supposed to happen within the multiverse. The Watcher's role is to observe and safeguard the multiverse, but hes not supposed to interfere in the events of different timelines, and a timeline coming to him is something he probably never thought to be possible.

Tbh I really enjoyed aspects of this show. I was disappointed with the fact the episodes were not as dark as some of my favourite comics. Also Marvel's obsession with creating team-ups is getting very old.
As the Ancient One says, the stones control what they perceive as time. Shouldn’t having two time stones create two flows of time? Or having two sets of stones create infinite dimensions or smth?
Also shouldn’t Killmonger, being human, eventually wear himself out and Zola wins that battle?
THIS is why I hate what if they completely destroyed the stones and now they are a plot hole for any future multiversal conflict
This level of ‘Um actually’ while trying and absolutely failing at being funny is grating to the soul.

Perhaps I missed it, but I only remember the Loki series establishing that magic didn't work in the TVA. Not just Infinity Stones, but even Loki and Sophie's powers don't work in the TVA either.
Having everything connect at the end of the season was unnecessary. The fight between the Watcher and Ultron was cool, but that’s about all it was good for.
There’s way too many times the voice acting is just... bad. It takes you out of the action.
Not to mention the fact they feel the need to write a joke every other line.
Having everything connect was TOTALLY necessary. It’s the entire premise of phase 4 so far. Having multiple worlds collide. Team ups have already been a Marvel thing since the first avengers.

Best thing I've watched today
I can't wait for What If season 2. Can't wait to see what they will with characters from Phase 4 like Shang-Chi, The Eternal, Spider-Man (hopefully). Along with other phase 4 project like Doctor Strange 2, Thor 4, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, Ect.
Maybe even include What If episodes based around the MCU Disney+ series.
Hoping for What if Mysterio won? Mainly because his plan working will probably get him killed in a very horrible fashion.

That being said, I absolutely adored this series and I’m so happy they are going to continue it and I can’t wait for season 2! I hope we get tons of new universes and characters and they even continue some of the old ones. They don’t even have to connect that’s fine or maybe some of them connect and some of them are really just what if’s that only need one episode to tell the story but there are so many ways they can go and it is so exciting!!!! (I’m wayyyyy more excited about Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and Thor Love and Thunder but I mean a what if animated series that’s actually Cannon to the mcu’s soon to be VAST multiverse I mean come on!!!!)
The show isn’t canon to the Main MCU because Multiverse.

this is a long time later and im sure someone pointed it out but the fact peggy could have determined the tentacles swallowing Europe and also been able to do the sick trick on the bike is due to the fact that the super soldier serum also affects the mind, while not shown to a great extent in the comics and even less so in the movies captain America can think incredibly fast giving carter, in this instance, the ability to think through the possibility that the tentacles would be an issue on a global scale and also try to get her timing right on the bike albeit i agree muscle memory does play a factor there
Ngl i would watch the fuck out of a show on what Peggy did after Steve went in ice but i have a feeling they would somehow manage to stuff him into that too

the reality stone would be the most useful in interdimensional war because it can't be used outside of its universe, but create an army of whatever and then transport it out of the universe and suddenly its efficient, nothing else works in this way unless your the one being invaded

36:38 Considering that the events of Ant-Man & the Wasp occurred literally Days before Infinity War. Do you realize how fast the infection would have had to spread to infect San Fran before the entire City was Quarantined? Not to mention the Avengers being called in was pretty unlikely as they were already all but disbanded and Clint was retired. Out the ones shown there, Only Iron Man would likely shown up with the others being in Wakanda, Madripoor, and Wherever Clint's Family lives at respectively and would have had no way of making it in time.

I get that Chadwick passed away in unfortunate circumstances, but do they really think that we'd believe that T'Chala has so much charisma that Thanos would actually listen to him? It's cool that Thanos is a Guardian sure but chalking it up to T'Chala's charisma is kinda lazy and ass-kissing to Black Panther fans. I mean ass-kissing is one thing, Disney does it all the time what with their live remakes, but they should at least put more effort behind that explanation.

6:24 I asked the same question in almost every Disney+ Marvel show, with Kate Bishop stepping on Clint's story, Falcon taking most of the spotlight in a show called Falcon AND The Winter Soldier with Bucky's story arc feeling like an after thought, Layla stomping on Moon Knight's story. Marvel needs to make their movies and shows about their titular character and not having side characters steal the spotlight
Can’t wait to see what crazyness shows up in the next seasons and there better be more than just 2 or 3 and we better get some other heros that we want to see like ghost rider and human torch the older one with cap in WW2.

I liked the what if overall expecially the Supreme Strange episode. It bugged me that whenever they swapped out a character with another one in their place they seemed to be the beat ever without question.
