I love the eye contact between them. The way Danielle looks at Michael while he's speaking is SO SWEET. I knew they had their grief in common but I hadn't thought about their medical experiences, from Danielle's job as a nurse to Michael supporting his wife through cancer. VERY cool that he's involved in creating a product that could help so many people.
Well this was a fantastic surprise! This might be the best one yet and I’ve loved all the Love Fests and couples. Loving the banter between all of you. I almost thought Michael was going to cinch being Andy’s #1 taking the lead from Thomas! 😂😂😂😂
I have been struggling with what to say in a speech for my sister’s wedding. Michael’s incredibly sweet first impression of how Danielle is there for her friends unlocked it for me. I just wrote out the whole thing. Thank you Michael, thank you Shandy!

This was delightful!! I was grinning and laughing throughout! I have to admit; every time I see you're doing a Love Fest I groan a little inside wishing it was Q&A or other. BUT THEN...every one I've watched so far (minus one:) has thrilled me and I want more! Michael is so funny and absolutely I too didn't get this vibe from them on the show. I was very skeptical and not that interested. Wow! Reality is BETTER than "Reality"😅😂🤩😍

Love this Love Fest! I had no idea Michael had a patent and now I am VERY curious about Andy's! Great job, both of you! Michael and Dani seem so in tune with their own needs before finding each other - and that is why "older" bachelor/ette contestants should be more common! It is refreshing!

They are one of the best couples to come out of this franchise!! You can honestly tell how much they both deeply care for each other just by how the look at each other. Also I hope Michaels product will be able to reach and help so many people. Cancer sucks!

watching and listening to couples like this interact (Shandy included) cements my excitement for entering my 30s at the end of this year. there's a knowing that goes on, in how you hold conversation, how you build relationships, how and where you establish yourself, a grounding of sorts. 20s are a fantastic time to have fun while you're being a deer in headlights, if you will. But my gosh, exploring romance as you mature is something that thoroughly excites me.

I loved every part of this! My favorite segment was about James. How he described the way they communicate rings so true to me. I relate to my older son a lot like that. I’m always surprised when I see pictures of him that give away how young he is. We have deep conversations all the time. While he’s also my sweet, adorable kid, I relate to him as an individual that is eager to learn about the world and find his own direction in life. It’s so amazing to watch him become the person he’ll be.
I listened to this one last week when it came out, and I made my husband listen to it with me yesterday (he is a naughty Shandy who sometimes skips non-recap episodes!). It was thoroughly enjoyed both times. Great couples with excellent banter! 👏

Michael needs to write a book!! He’s so wise. I don’t even think he knows how deep his thoughts go. Or how poignant his observations are! It’s incredible. Really just like a Q&A book because he’s so humble he probably wouldn’t even know how to pinpoint what he can offer to it to define the scope of the book in the first place. Maybe the dude needs his own podcast. Or he can just be my therapist. I feel like having his mind and heart nearby is better for anyone’s mental health. I think he knows how lucky he is to have found someone like Danielle and really only she is the type of person who can walk the line of respect and love. I wonder if Danielle ever feels Laura’s presence because I feel like Laura and Danielle would have a very deep and meaningful friendship if she were still here. Wow I’m going on a tangent here. But Michael is just such a rare human. And you know what? He said he won’t find joy when the clinical trials are a success because he has too much shame to say “look what I did” but I actually think when the time comes he will feel joy and pride he didn’t expect because he finds most joy in celebrating the accomplishments of those he loves and in that moment he’ll recognize it’s not what he did. He will feel able to one more time celebrate what Laura did. This is her accomplishment that he nurtured to fruition when she couldn’t. The work he put in doesn’t compare to what she went through to bring this new thing to light. He will relish the joy and accomplishment of his loved one! I’m so excited to see it come to reality. Wow.
Just saw Eternal Sunshine 2 days ago and it was 2004. I love that you brought that up. That movie is my all time favorite.
Just came across this paragraph from a book I’m reading after I watched this episode: “There’s an evolutionary purpose to shame. Just as pain exists to prevent us from damaging our tissue, the function of shame is to prevent us from damaging our social relationships, or to motivate us to repair them. When we were hunter-gatherers, our survival depended on being included in social life.” People who have no shame cannot pass their genes to the next generation. Thought I should tell Andy his intuition is backed by research. The book is See what you made me do, in case you are interested.

I think this was my favorite Love Fest to date. I definitely got the same vibes or lack there of from the editing the did of Paradise. Not really surprised though because the edits tend to stay away from people that are getting along and instead focus on the dramatic people. Kevin and Astrid are another example - barely any screen time because they weren't fighting.
This was an extra long episode, but I agree that I could have watched for another hour. I hope they take you guys up on the offer to meet up if/when they are in New York - you can tell you guys would have great fun together.

Loooove these two!! The fact that Danielle understands the importance of James’ support system and his wife/first wife’s legacy is extremely important.
It can be difficult to date a single parent. The maturity and understanding she has is imperative. They are both total catches. Also love how Michael is aware of how this will affect James and intentional in his actions, yet still brave enough to give it a try.
One of my favorite love fests. And Danielle, I def knew that you attended the wedding. Everyone was talking about how Michael being there meant you guys were together. 🤷♀️

This was a great episode, I really enjoyed it. I didn't love how Michael treated Sierra on BIP but they are so lovely together, they are very good people contributing goodness our world, they have great personalities, and I wish them so much happiness together. It's kind to be respectful of peoples' times but I wonder if Sharlene should be slightly less rigid in keeping to the questions - they're great but if the conversation is flowing great, don't try to stifle it.

Actually lasix was used for race horses in the past… the phrase “I gotta pee like a race horse” is because they used to give lasix (diuretic) to race horses so they could pee more and be lighter, hence run faster … so you’re right Andy ! But I don’t think they use it anymore hopefully!

@sharleenjoynt 2 ideas that might help you with your comments and not focusing on the negatives.. 1. Since you both love a game, maybe you and Andy should have a positive comment battle. You could either pick your favorite one each week (and tell the listeners so you get even more & you can read them on the pod!) Or 2. Perhaps use your phone, laptop, journal, etc. To save all your positive comments in. So on the days where you see a crappy one, before you go down the painful comment spiral, you just go back and read all the nice things that the people (like me) that love you guys tell you!!
