    For the sliding rig/ Carolina rig, you should also include a bead after the weight before the swivel. You could use anything there, I have a old foam slippers I cut pieces from and use so it doesn't necessarily have to be a bead, but it's a necessity. If you run it without the bead, the weight smashes into your knot and will break your knot over time, I lost fish like that already, put something soft to cushion the impact of the weight.

    • @KoSMTT
      @KoSMTT  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of people like to include a bead...But I am not a big fan of it...Never really had any issue of the weight breaking the knot...It should not really be hitting the knot at any point in time...It may depend on how you are casting...But if the bead is working for you stick with it...And once you catching fish....Most important! Fish on!

    • @KoSMTT
      @KoSMTT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome. Some types of fishing, like A la vive for king fish, a wire leader is very important as they have a lot of teeth and that can prevent bite offs...So once your target species is along that lines, you should use a wire leader.

    • @KoSMTT

  • @biggiecheese5135
    @biggiecheese5135 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Also bro, ent a knocker rig supposed to be with two weights? The way I learn that rig was with two weights and I was told is the two leads knocking on each other that attracts the fish, at least so my uncle say.

    • @KoSMTT
      @KoSMTT  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah bro....Knocker rig is so called just because the sinker "knocks" the hook...There is no actually knocking of weights or the hook to attract the fish...it's a rig that you usually cast out and wait for a bite...To actually get a "knocking" effect under water is pretty much not possible...

    Is a floating line good for fishing

    • @KoSMTT

    • @Perry847
      @Perry847 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I watch the videos but I think that you lose a lot of fish because of thin line you use .I would use around a 50ib test line with the rod,so that bigger fish would be easier to catch and not burst the line

    • @KoSMTT
      @KoSMTT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Perry847 Thanks bro....When we are targeting bigger fish we use bigger lines. But most times, inshore fishing we stick to lighter lines for more enjoyment and to catch more fish.
