okay.... this has to be one of the best edited one of these i've seen. almost every time a plot point is mentioned, an irrelevant piece of video is playing. yeah, sure, a couple of little things may have been spoiled, but kudos for being careful to not give both visual and audio spoilers at the same time. that must have taken effort.

This video essay is great! It's just as good an introduction to this amazing game as any of the ones from popular channels. I think your framing device using Dinosaur Comics was really thoughtful, reflecting on what exploration means to our current generations. And I agree that this game is more earnestly about what science means to people, than a lot of other games, with how it enjoys introducing real world or in-universe knowledge and encourages you to try out hypotheses in your 22 minute test tube. Or maybe what science means to someone like a young person exploring a museum and realizing there are so many trails they can follow to learn new things. The magic is still there. It helps that the game has a museum in it, which charmed me so much when I came across it. And since I'm not done with this game it gave me some hints about stuff I haven't yet stumbled upon. This game always turns out to be bigger than I thought. It truly is something special.
How the fuck do you only have THREEHUNDRED subs??? I watched this not even knowing. This is such a well put together piece you'd often see by a more "experienced" TH-camr. Definitely keep it up!!!!
What on earth is that location at 7:15? And the little section fiddling around with "warp core" bits just after it? I thought I had found everything! This game never ceases to surprise
I know the feeling! This game still surprises me months later. It’s been a while, but I believe 7:15 is a derelict ship floating near white hole station, and the warp core area is within the cave network on Ember Twin. Thanks for the kind words!
I admit I did not watch this video yet but I've watched several others. So I have a question. Is this game a message about reincarnation and the alien messages of the past are really us in previous forms? I watched very little about this game but just a little bit I've seen made me start piecing together some things and that is what I'm speculating is at some of the core of the message in this game. I'll try to watch more of the video later but I drive a bus and I have a very short break right now.
The Carrot Clarinet I used a couple of bloopy songs in the background, although it’s probably either Sync by Disasterpeace (from Fez), or Passion For Exploring by SoulEye (from VVVVVV)! Let me know if it isn’t either of those and I’ll double check the project files. Nothing worse than not quite identifying a song!
Sorry for the late reply, but I think astraadams is right, I believe I was referring to one of the warp towers. Possibly one that gets blocked or covered by rising sand? Honestly it’s been a while. Not sure if they ever patched or adjusted it. I know a lot of people were complaining about it around the time I posted this video.

My playthrough took 27 hours and I never found it despite many trips to the city. Did find the one on Brittle Hollow though.
