I wish I could’ve been there to see it. It’s a shame I was born when I was. I think I should’ve been born 50 years before I was. So 1956. I would’ve been able to live through the greatest eras of music in history. The 70s and 80s with the greatest rock and roll bands of all time. And the 90s with the birth of grunge. I could’ve seen my favorite bands perform. But I’m stuck here listening to a bunch of grown men scream the n word into a microphone that gets jacked up on autotune and has electronic music in the background. Today’s music doesn’t take skill, it takes a decent voice and a computer and you have an entire band. Hopefully bands like Greta Van Fleet bring real music back. They might be the second coming of rock. One can only hope.
My 13 year old son had to watch a drum solo for his music homework and I thought this would probably be the most inappropriate yet still fit all of the parameters of the assignment. We are still waiting for a comment or a grade on said homework but dad got an A for coolness.😆😆😆
I'm Randall from Dallas, Texas USA. I'm 61 years old now, but when I was younger I could play seven different instruments - and one of them were the drums. I have heard for the last 20+ years about Tommy Lee being lifted up and twirled around while playing the drums. At 5:45 pm, on Saturday April 30, 2022, I had a cell phone, and I remembered being told about Tommy's adventure. Well, to say the least, I looked it up - connected him with Motley Crew - and there he was. I had thought he was playing with the band but evidently, he was doing a drum solo. Yes, 33 years has passed since Tommy did that solo, and honestly, I can only say that my detainement, procrastination, tardiness or whatever you'd like to call it - was because I was in prison for 25 flat calendar years. Tommy Lee done a fabulous job by his performance as well as him talking to the multitude of people. I'm unsure now if he's still alive, but if he is, let me say, Tommy, you've done something so different - that I know the "Whole" world knew it happened whether they saw it or not.
"And in this fucking dream I had, man, I thought, 'Fuck, wouldn't it be cool to go just a little bit to the right!'" Words that will live with me till the day I die. I want that on my tombstone!
Saw this tour, floor seat, he went right over me. Pretty cool stuff. I played the drums at the time. Can't imagine the challenges of playing while spinning. Another thing which made this cool was that people weren't used to seeing the drummer play from above or behind. No internet, cell phones, no "drum cams" for all to see. I used to have a giant mirror above my kit in the practice room, people would spend time staring in that mirror to see all my limbs moving separately, they had never seen the drums played like that.
Lol so fast 😂😂😂 very mediocre...he’s a kickass dude and not a bad drummer but any drummer will tell you this is nothing special...literally routine triplets...at a pretty manageable speed
You can really see he is influenced by Bonzo with the triplets and stick twirling. Both drummers are rad but Bonzo is a god. Good job tommy sorry about your son knocking you out.
I know I read somewhere that this whole idea came from the fact that when Tommy was younger and could only afford a cheap seat at a concert he could never see what the drummer was doing. He decided that wouldn't happen to other drummer fans once Motley Crue could afford something like this crazy contraption. Now they can see what he's doing behind the drums and besides, it's fun. No wireless either, just mic cords winding up each direction.
Wow...I can't believe all the haters on here. Tommy is a fantastic drummer, not the best, but not the worst....He does a great job for HIS BAND! EXACTLY! And as a drummer, Tommy is actually very good. He is a human metronome, and his long arms give his playing a very unique ‘time’. Centerfolds, Car Crashes, Substance Abuse, Arrests, etc. those guys did it right!
