Sancocho isn’t just a Dominican dish it originated in Panama and is made and enjoyed across the Caribbeans in different variations Sancocho de pollo is what I’m used to as a Colombian but I’ve had it multiple different ways. You’ve done an amazing job recreating what we know as Sancocho it looks tasty as ever 🫶🏾
Actually it originated from West Africa as most black people taken to the Caribbean and South America were taken from there. It’s called light soup, pepper soup, mixed meat soup, etc…. in African countries. The only ingredient added in the Americas that varies is the corn.

Your soup is similar to what we call stewed peas in Jamaica. The only difference is we add red peas/kidney beans to ours. We also eat it with white rice. You can try making that one of these days. Lol. 😊 Nuff❤ from JMJM
