Social bias is huge. If I went back to eating animal products tomorrow, my friends and family would probably congratulate me and welcome me back to the ‘tribe’ with open arms. The hardest part of being vegan is how other people isolate you, even if you don’t even advocate or discuss veganism. People who are normally science oriented become hypocrites when talking about veganism and give higher value to anecdotal evidence rather than peer reviewed journal articles.
If you went back to eating animal products again the vegan community would ostracize you especially if you were some kind of vegan influencer.Your vegan friends would no longer be your friends they would say things like u were never really vegan and that you are just selfish etc, they would also try to discredit you and tear apart your character. The vegan community treats ex vegans the same way as most religious cults do to members who leave.
@@davidhughes1825 Not really. Most vegans do have non-vegan friends and you don't see them ostracise them. Vegans are sadto see them go back to bad habits but everyone is well aware ofthe social pressure involved in following a vegan diet, so they understand
@@davidhughes1825 There is a significant difference: non-vegans dislike vegans simply for doing something not culturally normal. Just ordering a vegan option in a restaurant inevitably results in someone at my table making a snide remark. Vegans don't dislike non-vegans themselves: they dislike animal suffering, factory farms, environmental destruction and antibiotic resistance. If one of your friends started beating their partner you would have choice words for them too. Being vegan doesn't harm non-vegans, but being non-vegan harm vegans and all other humans and animals on the planet.
@Jane lane then you were never a friend to begin with because unconditional love and respect regardless Wether you agree or disagree absolutely sad that you woukd throw away a friendship due to your own personal beliefs, i have many vegam friends, gay friends, multicultural friends regardless wether I agree or not i will never end a friend ship. For years I fought nicotine addiction. I would quit tobacco for a while.....and every time that I went back to using that terrible drug I would experience a sudden drop in problems like anxiety, depression, headaches, etc. Does this mean smoking cigarettes is good for me? I don't think so. I think it is just my brain referencing past positive feeling memories associated with tobacco. Likewise, since most of us grew up carnists, we have positive associated memories of meat eating. That doesn't make good for us.
@flaid I eat 60 to 80 grams of fiber per day. I eat mostly plants, but full vegan caused me to get amenorrhea and crippling insomnia. I'm not willing to sacrifice myself completely yet.
@flaid i was making my claims off of research i have done. I don't have a binder full of web addresses for all the nutrition-related studies i've read over the past few years. Sorry, i'm not militant like that. I wish i had the energy right now to try to find find some of them. You're right. I shouldn't have spoken without being prepared.
There is a diffrence between a drug and whole foods. How do they even compare?? The fact that there is so many ex vegans coming out and so much people feeling better with animal products says a lot, vegans are just so stubborn and loyal to their cult, regardless weather the animals are GMO so is plants everything is not good for us , the air the water , the pesticide sprayed vegetables and fruits. Eating grass fed beef pesticide free veggies and eliminating sugar and processed junk and refined carbohydrates have been proven by many people to be effective physically and mentally, stop relying on studies and start communicating with other individuals in your community. Understand that whether its vegans or strict carnivores know one really gives a fuck, its all for money and selling products its all a bloody scam and its so sad people give in to it.
Placebo effect in all it's glory. Not denying a person's ailments, but I've seen it soooo many times. A close friend of mine says they're feeling weak and tired after eating too clean (NOT a well planned diet, and lacking certain micro/macro nutrients), so they talk themselves into eating cottage cheese and scrambled eggs because it's this protein/fat dense caloric overload food. Then BOOM they claim to immediately (within minutes) feel all better and have energy...when it's biologically impossible to digest and gain some form of "energy high" that quickly, especially from dense animal products like these. The brain and it's illusions have powerful effects on the body. The problem is - People are then quick to place blame and cure labels on things they're eating instead of addressing the actual flaw in their diet.
Yes, and while that may be true, you should understand that diet in regards to an individuals health is a very subjective thing. You hate it when someone tells you that you need to eat meat to be healthy? It's the same for those of us that are really, REALLY trying to stick to the vegan diet even though it's making us feel ill. Believe it or not, not everyone thrives on a vegan diet, no matter how much we love animals.
Exactly if I stopped eating for a week and then ate 4 McDonald’s Big Macs, id probably feel like I have more energy too, but it wouldn’t really be a good idea to base my dietary decisions off of that experience
TheOrientalNightFish maybe you have an underlying medical condition? I have always maintained that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. If you are genuinely harming yourself on a vegan diet, it may be reasonable to add in just enough animal products to meet whatever you were missing. If I was in that position, I would consume pest animals that are culled anyway - in Australia that would be kangaroo. Even though it is possible to get everything you need (save b12) from plants, I understand that some people have malabsorption disorders etc However veganism is appropriate for the overwhelming majority of the population and at all stages of life.
@@AA-kq7cn its extremly unlikely that she has a real malabsorbtion disorder, most likely just unbalanced diet and saying veganism is the fault. what exactly is supposed to be in animal products which would make you thrive ? @TheOrientalNightFish
Sometimes even if you go to see a doctor, they aren't informed at all. I went to a gynaecologist once and when i told him i was vegan , he started asking where do i get calcium from, when i told him i ate green veggies and fortified milk, HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW PLANT MILKS EXISTED. Afterwards he asked me if i didn't miss meat and started mentioning meat based meals. I could not feel more uncomfortable.
Feel free to report them to their governing body if you wish to make sure they get some updated education so they aren't making that mistake again. That's creepy, unprofessional behaviour.
This is what scares me the most about about a vegan diet, is having any health issue I have being treated with more eggs and milk, and having serious health issues left unchecked.
@@davidmhh9977 veganism isn't a diet though in itself - a plant exclusive diet is one expression of vegan ideals. Hopefully we're getting towards whole food plant based diets as the means of healing people, as veganism can include oils, refined sugar, and excess salt - not exactly the definition of self care.
For me going vegan was the exhale, because I no longer hat to fight my feelings when consuming animal products. Before I had to justify to myself. That can be stressfull too.
Going off birth control being (and she appears underweight to me ) will definitely cause chaos for the woman’s cycle and associated symptoms for a few months. I speak from personal experience. My guess is she associated the non vegan foods with feeling better but didn’t take into account that her body was working hard to rebalance her hormones.
Anita, yes. She is underweight and I am going to say that low B-12 causes period pain. Low iron causes period pain. Low Magnesium causes period pain. Low D causes period pain. Supplementing B12 and D are things vegans should consider. Fear of losing your period from over-exercising causes serious psychological problems.
yes whenever i got off birth control it reaked absolute havoc on my body and my hormones were out of control. mood swings acne weight fluctuation. it took like a year for me to start to feel normal again. she should have researched some more because the science is clear that a plant based diet is the best for our bodies. animal products actually mess with your hormones :/
It takes your body over a year to regulate your hormones after years long of birth control pills. Birth control pills can also lower period pain and of course cause a regular cycle. Not all women have a regular cycle. Mine varies between 35 and 50 days, always has. Nothing to do with diet, it's genetic.
It's all about her new relationship. She was vegan with her previous boyfriend and her new one isn't. I know a lot of women who do this. Just match up with whoever they are dating. She clearly gave in to social pressures.
I think it's all psychological. I know with me, I went vegan overnight when I saw Joaquin Phoenix's Oscar speech. I didn't give myself any time to mourn (I know it sounds crazy) my former animal diet and I also did not research the vegan diet. For a month, I lived only on salad and took in maybe 200 calories a day. One day I said "I can't do this anymore, I need meat", so I ordered myself a cheesesteak and a hoagie. I wolfed them down and I "felt better". But I really didn't, not physically or ethically. I immediately got a bout of constipation and stomach cramps and the gnawing feelin of having paid to eat a murdered being. I figured out it was because I did not transition to veganism properly by researching, shopping and preparing for this change, and yes, mourning the taste of the food I had enjoyed all my life. I went back to veganism the next day. I have felt physically better and in five monts brougt my diabetes down by 4 points and expect it to be reversed by the end of the year. It's all psychological to me.
Yep, please check out the likes of Dr McDougall's programs, or Dr Esselstyns, or Dr Barnard's, or Dr Ornish's. Salad only and 200 calories a day is not a sustainable diet, as you've found! Good luck with your journey
That's wicked, I went vegan on the spot after seeing Dairy is Scary. I'm quite a blunt person. That video is very straight forward so it resonated big time. Everyone needs to watch a video which speaks to them as individuals. Veganism is a philosophy, not a diet, but never skimp on calories 😉 th-cam.com/video/PuxHPgbIgUg/w-d-xo.html
I’ve had hormone problems most of my life, on and off, and while they certainly were significantly reduced after going vegan, they didn’t go away. But almost always, HIGH estrogen is what makes problems, not low. And it was fairly straightforward to solve, without giving up veganism. I never even considered not being vegan so I don’t understand this line of thinking whatsoever.
I think this is the problem...people expect being cured of all their ailments by going vegan and when it doesn't happen they just revert back. In my 5 years of being vegan I've had multiple health problems but always solved them with my doctor while still bei g vegan
I have estrogen dominance and was wondering if youd be willing to explain what youre doing to manage your hormones. I brought my test results I got independently to my Dr and she got kinda abusive about it so Ive been just trying to find a way to balance them on my own
I remember when I went vegan and got some health issues I was always afraid of a doctor telling me to change my "diet". But I always reminded myself that my SIL was anemic before becoming vegetarian and I had B12 deficiency while being an omni and taking B-vitamins complex.
One thing that I’ve thought of in regards to Maddie’s situation is the effect of the break up psychologically. I’m not a doctor or here to diagnose by any means, but this is just something that crossed my mind based on personal experience. Being with someone for 7 years, creating a life, having animals, traveling, buying a house...it’s massive. Especially during times in our lives where we are going through a lot of developmental changes. I briefly separated from my current partner of almost 6 years and it was devastating. I couldn’t imagine being in the public eye on a certain level or being expected to make content. There’s no way of knowing what kind of emotional trauma that may have either triggered the break up or occurred afterwards. And it’s very interesting to me that her and Alyse got into relationships not too soon after ending these long term ones. No judgement whatsoever. But there’s a lot that needs to be done emotionally in order to get to a place of not being so emotionally vulnerable after something like that. And I know that my emotional state has always played a huge role in my physical state. And I know when you are feeling emotionally, and/or physically, vulnerable the instinct can be to find some way to gain control over your environment again. Especially if you haven’t fully processed whatever emotions you are feeling at that time. Again, just some thoughts that I had. Loved the video Mic. The ex vegan exhale feels truly spot on.
After a breakup I convinced myself that life would be easier if I just went back to eating fish. Unlike the ex vegans of TH-cam whenever I ate it I felt queasy and I realized that it wasn't making my life easier in any way, plus I felt disconnected from my values. Eventually I went back to not eating fish. But briefly, I experienced that ex vegan exhale that Mic referenced.
I had an ex-vegetarian/vegan exhale after being raised vegetarian. I was studying naturopathy and many of the lecturers were anti-vegan. But I always had a voice in the back of my head telling me I was doing something wrong. Been vegan for 2 years 💚
Lectures that were "anti-vegan"... bloody hell that's fuckin' absurd 🤨 That's like saying they were anti - wanting animals not to be raped, tortured and murdered. Absolute bell ends, and no doubt funded by the vile meat & dairy industry.
Johny40Se7en yeah it was pretty wild. A peer of mine that was vegan is now eating animal products which is a real shame as she’s now a practicing naturopath.
@@rhiannon3552 Bloody hell, that is so wrong. No doubt she really cares about animals, just like most people really. Just remind her how huge and warm her heart is. Be the hand which guides her back to true North 😉😊 th-cam.com/video/PuxHPgbIgUg/w-d-xo.html
Colleen Patrick Goudreau said in her podcast years ago that social isolation is the most stressful part report by vegans. I definitely feel that. As an introvert and loner, when I had to do work gatherings (before pandemic) it was stressful to deal with the comments and stuff from coworkers. It set up a barrier.
I have a hard time understanding the social isolation aspect of it. The only vegans I actually know, apart from those on social media, moved to different areas of the country. No one in my family is vegan, nor are my coworkers, or anyone in my small group of friends. Pre covid if I had to bring separate food or ate before going out with friends it was fine. People judge and will mock you for it. I just think that if you believe in something than the options of others shouldn't matter when it comes to things in your life. To me it shows weak character. Just my two cents.
@@louisnvrr yes people who drop off may have weak character that needs strengthening, but it’s better to deal with that in a compassionate way rather than judging and shaming people. Judging and shaming doesn’t work. It just makes people go in the opposite direction when you speak to people out of judgment
I've got to say, Dr. Barnard's study completely changed my life. I had scheduled a hysterectomy that was postponed because of COVID and I heard him speak. I took his advice and completely cut dairy (previously I had it a few times a week, but was trying to limit). My periods went from 15 days a month to a normal 6-7 and the amount of bleeding became manageable again (I had a tubal, which is when these issues started). I was able to cancel my surgery and feel confident in my decision. I've had a few "bad" months where I'll have several dairy based meals and I always end up paying for it. Not as extreme as my baseline, but enough that I know that's what's causing my issue. So yeah, I'm shocked she found a benefit to adding animal products back into her diet...
@@welcomeback2mychannel excessive and prolonged bleeding. I was changing a super plus tampon every 30 minutes for the first few days and then the period would last around 15 days. Cramps were horrible to where I couldn't get out of bed. None of those issues now tho 😊

All those who previously were on a plant foods based diet but now aren't have become delusion thinking animal foods will solve their health problems but you also have to realise that even a vegan whole plant foods based diet won't do that because there's some health issues that are genetic and can't be solved through lifestyle.
Yes I think excessive excercise could be the problem for these people. I too did that for a few years and I was a mess from it. Too few calories, too much excercise, too little b12 and d (sunlight).

People who don't have Celiac give up gluten and feel so much better because they hear "gluten is BAD". So why wouldn't someone surrounded by meat eaters go back to eating meat when they hear "your problems are caused by your nutrient-deficient vegan diet."?
Uh, I'm not documented celiac but I do have a wheat allergy and I remember having problems from wheat products since I was 5 years old - terrible problems. I've been trying to avoid wheat/ gluten products for 50 years. It would be so relaxing to actually be able to eat wheat. There are dozens of reasons why people feel better not eating wheat/gluten. Maybe you should try it!
And you have no idea how hard it is to have extensive food allergies and continue to eat vegan/plant-based, yet I do it! It's easier to eat vegan than to avoid all the food I'm allergic/sensitive to (like chocolate).
Gezond naar honderd I did gluten free for years in solidarity with my mom who has celiac. I’m not doubting there are people who have issues with it that aren’t celiac, I just think there are many who have neither but insist on gluten free. And hey, as long as you feel good, do what works for you!

I am not vegan. HOWEVER, I used to watch Maddie's 'What I eat in a day' videos for recipe ideas because I am trying to add more plant based recipes in my diet. After not seeing her in a video for several months, I was shocked to see how emaciated she looks. You can almost count every bone in her body! It's easy to see that she is not getting enough calories and fat in her diet. I predict that she will not find that the 'small amount of animal products' she is consuming will actually help her in the long run. Further, I think this decision of hers will end up coming back to haunt her.
I am so sad to hear this about Maddie, she had amazing recipes and just was a genuine lovely person, I sincerely hope that she comes back to us once she gets her harmones in order, I've been there and I know that feeling like you will do anything to make the pain stop, so I feel for her. :(
@@skillfuldabest Nope. None of these ex "vegan"s were people I paid attention to - didn't even know who they were until they became "ex". Of course, I do tend to think of myself as pretty picky about the vegans I choose to subscribe to. It seems the majority of those folks are also all about posing and looks. Not all, of course. That's just my observation. I live on this planet, so I can't really be in an echo channel. Everything around me is biased towards eating flesh and secretions. I mean everything. Mailers, ads on the bus stop, grocery coupons, grocery announcements when at the grocer's, store fronts, clothing, autos, subsidies for businesses...it's everywhere, so I think that non vegans are in the echo chamber.

So many of these female fitness influencers eat (or at least show that they eat through WIEAD) at very low calorie levels that can't support either their activity or their hormone health. Mic, I really appreciated that you addressed Maddie's very low body fat levels relative to the volume she's eating. It's so normalized to think that's just what women are supposed to look like/attempt to look like, when really they are suffering from inadequate nutrition...not a lack of animal-based food, just not enough food, period.
I agree! And I dont' understand why she didn't try incorporating more calorie dense plant based foods like nuts, nut butters, dried fruit, tofu, whole grain breads, seeds, etc. These are all the things I cannot eat because I'm overweight.

@@lanaviana5161 you cannot judge disordered eating based on looking at someone's body. The vast majority of those with EDs are not visibly underweight.
I think many girls with EDs that have fitness and lifestyle channels used the "healthy vegan" lifestyle as an acceptable way to under eat and overexercise. Hormonal issues can be a result of an ED. Quitting veganism could be them trying to heal from the ED but to me it's more likely they are trying to switch up their diets because of their ED in order to lose more weight, also it might be very hard for them to admit having an ED if their job is selling "health and fitness" online. I feel sorry for them but also many vegan and non vegan "healthy fitness lifestyle" content creators are harming their audience by promoting an unhealthy, restrictive (vegan/nonvegan) lifestyle and we know the lifestyle they promote is unhealthy because all of them are making videos about their health issues and blaming it on veganism when in reality it's the health consequences of having an ED long term just catching up. Exhale is a great way to describe it. Sure, these people get their 15-minutes-of-fame in the anti-vegan circles, and I'm sure there are one or two people who begin to question veganism as a result. However, in the long run, if we can get these bandwagon/raw foodist/fruitarian/ "I survive off papayas and sunlight" types to stop being the big representatives of this movement, I see it as a positive.
I think you’re spot on with the vegan exhale concept. Seems to describe all the ex-vegans I have seen in recent memory. Personally, I see more people trying to be vegan and low-carb, which they then claim it was the vegan diet for their problems. So, still sticking to my high carb diet for marathon running without issues over a few years.
I think your last point is the most likely reason. She quit being vegan because she was done with her vegan boyfriend and she met this other meat eater guy. Maybe she was only vegan because of her vegan ex. She was vegan for 7 years and she was with the vegan guy for 7 years. Some people don't have strong values of their own, they just follow the behavior of people around them.
I agree. I was a new vegan before dating my last boyfriend. I started eating meat with him and gave up my own eating choices. I went straight back to veganism after that break up. It taught me a lot about myself. I was disappointed at how weak I'd been. It will never happen again. I'm stronger now.
Definitely not trying to body shame the young woman, and I hope for her good health and happiness. But just going visually she does appear to be extremely underweight. I have struggled with an eating disorder for most of my life and know several people who do as well. Looks like she may be lacking some calories.
I feel like there are several things we should rescue about Maddie's video: - she knows where she stands and she's not fully convinced in having gone back to animal products, it definitely sounds like hey, I was at a breaking point, I tried it and it worked, but not like she's swearing off veganism/vegetarianism forever or concluding that veganism is not sustainable. - she stopped posting so she would not have to 'fake' being vegan, and only opened up when she was ready to deal with the backlash and effects - she knows the impact of her change on others, and the vegan community as a whole, and she treated the manner with respect. I feel like sometimes veganism cannot be a 100% change, and once someone drops to a 98% commitment people are ready to 'burn the witch'.
I'll admit I've fallen off the wagon before, but I started being vegan when I was about 41. I'm gonna be 53, so for most of 11 years I've been vegan. my hot flashes started at 39, and now I'm pretty much in menopause. I take no meds. the times I stopped eating vegan I felt like crap. I am vegan for the animals, and weight management is a non-issue, and am in better shape than ever. I never felt societal stress. I feel badly when people stop veganism, and blame their conditions on a plant based diet. many times I think they may not look into other factors, but just go to doctors that blame veganism or they themselves blame a pbd. I've been told my vitamin d is low, but when summer rolls around that's not the case. I've been told my iron is low, but it was like that before veganism, and I have never felt any symptoms of lowness or deficiency. I agree. it's the boyfriend. lol! my ex was a meat eater, but I never changed my eating for him. best of luck to her.

I went Vegan almost 4 years ago because of chest pains. I had read Dr Dean Ornish's book on heart disease prevention and reversal back in the 90s and had that much knowledge at the time. I didn't know whole foods, plant based, oil free helped other health issues, too. I was beyond surprised that when JUST DAYS after deciding to go Vegan, I noticed a whole laundry list of life long health issues start to simply vanish including severe body pain. I really didn't believe it at the time, so I tested it. I ate some animal products just to SEE if animal products were the source of my health issues. And they were. The first, second and third meal with some animal products didn't bring back my health issues but the 4th meal did and the body pain came back with a vengence. That's when I knew I could physically never go back to eating animal products and the way I had always eaten. These TH-camrs are young and maybe they can get away with this type of eating animal products for now but it will rear it's ugly head in the form of health issues down the road. It's only a matter of time. I'm proud to be Vegan and to have gained enough knowledge and information to be Vegan for the animals and the environment, as well as my health and pain free life!!!
I have endometriosis and some hormonal issues I went plant based almost a year ago and I’m almost cured. I feel the best I have even felt in the past 15 years! I’ve had multiple surgeries, I’ve been on a ridiculous amount of hormones. And something as simple as changing my lifestyle cured me
I only just got into plant based diet but the comments are terribly judgmental. I have PCOS and food hormones do affect women’s hormones, especially during that time of the month. I have zero hormone birth control. Because of my condition I cannot just jump into a diet full force no matter what others think.
As someone with a hormone imbalance that has struggled with it for many many many years, low estrogen and high testosterone and very little progesterone, I understand her struggle and even decided to stop the vegan diet for several months to a year until I could figure out how to go vegan properly with my issues. Veganism isn't always easy to be, especially when you have other problems that are going on in your life. I think the fact that she is sticking to a mostly plant-based diet is an amazing thing. Who knows, maybe she might decide to go vegan again in the future. I think if we had less judgment for those who were incorporating mostly planets into their diet than more people would want to try out a vegan diet or a mostly plant-based diet. This would result in less cruelty to animals and a better planet!

Rather than solving a health problem, the health problem can become a convenient, unassailable reason for leading a “normal” life again without having to deal with the moral choice. BTW here’s a different anecdote, I stopped having problems with period cramps when I started eating a whole plant diet.
I've thought of this exact thing too and completely agree, funnily enough I commented it on one of vegetable police's videos. All of these ex-vegans always describe how they instantaneously "feel" better as opposed to providing any evidence of their health status actually improving (in cases where it might actually be impossible within the timeframe). It really signals to me how psychological bias and outside pressure may really be the thing that's making them "feel" better. It's a shame because these ex-vegans are just making the problem worse for other people because they are now essentially promoting and touting how a non-vegan lifestyle is superior thus influencing this bias on other people. It's also noteworthy that these ex-vegans when they first went vegan also claimed to have felt significantly better after doing so. So that's also interesting...
I went vegan at 12 and have been vegan for 5 years now. I don't know a single vegan and while becoming vegan I was also experiencing depression because I realized at a young age that murdering animals was bad and all the adults around me hadnt, this made me feel that everyone was evil. I just think that being vegan can make you lonely especially when you believe everyone is a murderer. I am still vegan because I have now attributed meat eaters to people who are ignorant.
g Reader Great of you 🙏I was 12 too when my vegan journey started. That is now 15 years ago. Six years on TH-cam😬 If you like I did sometime ago made a video about the phenomenon called the chicken menstruation and death slimy fish. Placebo. Very interesting I think you will find it. here’s is the video th-cam.com/video/kDWBdR3E6EY/w-d-xo.html I’m so happy to don’t be a barbarian anymore. At first I did eat too little but never did go back to eating creatures how did never harm to me. Animal body parts and secretions are more dense calories sources therefore you need to eat more plant food ,as a vegan to get enough calories. Don’t be ridiculous people your first ethic class lesson, cause not unnecessary harm to ones are utterly in your power! Because otherwise you relinquish you’re own right. to be treated fairly👩🏻⚖️
I feel you. I went vegan 2 years ago and still have never met someone else who is vegan. Watching vegan youtubers help me so much by making me feel less alone
If multiple people are coming out with very similar symptoms of illness and transitioning back to a traditional diet and finding it relieves their ailments, how can you sit there and discredit them. Eating animals is natural, which is why we’ve done it since the beginning of time
There was a youtuber which was an omnivore exercising a lot and had very low body fat living on literally 800 kcal a day , she went all in , increased her calorie intake and she felt great, her hormonal problems disappeared etc people don’t eat enough food to be shredded and look nice and then are confused that they have hormonal problems or deficiencies. Damn I was an omnivore and I had an iron deficiency , my doctor recommended to me to eat some broccoli and I should be fine , lol and I was actually fine. But I never even once thought to blame my omnivore diet for my deficiencies , yet when you are a vegan , vegan diet is the first thing to blame , not that maybe simply you eat unhealthy or don’t eat enough in a day ...
I wonder why she went off of birth control, since it sounds like her period pains and hormone problems they weren't issues, or at least as bad, when she was on it. Obviously no prescription drugs can be cruelty-free or even may contain animal-derived ingredients - but if it's something life-saving/medically necessary (which if your period pains are landing you in the ER, but hormonal birth control can prevent that, YEAH) then by the Vegan Society's definition of veganism, it's not "practicable" to refuse it. Especially if the result is gonna be you going back to eating your friends anyway :(
Hiding period problems with the pill is never a great solution but eating friends is not either... 😢 As Mike said there is no vitamin x that she couldn't had gotten on a plant based diet 🌱
Birth control can be a good option. If she has mennorhagia or even endometriosis. Some people do need medication or sometimes surgery to treat these conditions. They don't always go away with treatment. Even dietary treatment may not work for people. I am currently trying to get rid of mennorhagia naturally with a few simple herbs and whole foods. If it doesn't work the next few cycles then I will talk with my doctor about birth control.
@@Empzk Uh, fixing a hormonal imbalance with the pill is not "hiding" problems... For some folks with PMDD, PCOS, and endometriosis they are medically necessary. It's medicine.
@@lnicole2504 I have been on birth control since I was 16yrs old. My thyroid is absolutely fine and I can live my life all weeks of the month instead of just 2. Please link some sources that support your claim that birth control pills (I take injections btw) are toxic. Thank you. Edit: I am in my 40's now...
L Nicole This is absolute nonsense. The oral contraceptive pill has zero effect on your thyroid - it’s a different hormonal axis. Sigh...people, please don’t listen to uninformed individuals on the internet.
This person is saying she hide her profession and her half a million followers from her boyfriend. Yeah, I agree with Mic. She cannot be trusted to tell us the truth.
Like Mike said, that's why it's easier to find the kind of weird people to be vegan, they already don't fit in. If in this world the pressure is too much, the majority should go at least plant based.
I'm so happy you mentioned vegetable police.. I've watched him as vegan and non vegan, and I usually end up thinking 🤔 how tiring it must be to always be searching for the 'best' or 'better diet...... I really wish him the best and hope he figures it out
I don't understand how eating animals riddled with hormones (natural and not) can help balance your hormones. I also feel lied to when a vegan raves about how healthy they are, how fit they are, and how much energy they have being in optimal health on a vegan diet, only to go back to eating animals. Why don't they ever address how they were bullshitting their audience for views? I'm a vegan of 7 years and if I have out of balance hormones, or other problems, I go to a real doctor to find a treatment plan that works for me, even if I have to take medication. Animal products are never the answer.
This is the sentence I use when getting frustrated by the likes of ex-vegans that go full, on let me kill animals to get close to nature. heh, I do it purposely though as a joke
And good for everyone who says that, pacifism is a terrible ideology. If you or someone near to you is being attacked by an aggressor, it's morally (and legally) justifiable to fight back in self-defense.
@@kazuoua Right, so it's good to be pacifist until you need it for self defence. Same as being vegan, I will not kill animals unless it is self defence.
@@ukkiesc5087 That would be like saying I'm vegan in-between meals where I consumed animal products. Technically correct but that's not what we think of as being "vegan". Same as being pacifist, you don't get to say you're pacifist during times of peace where no one is attacking you, that just means you're not an aggressor. Being pacifist make sense in the context where you're being attacked, during times of war, and you decide to "turn the other cheek".
I don't know why people would change their ethics or lifestyle because of an outside influence. I'm not 100% vegan yet, but in the 10 months of being a vegetarian, I don't need certain meds that I had to take when I was eating meat. I've lost weight and feel all around better. I would never go back to eating meat and feeling like a bloated cest pool of rotting flesh. My in laws make fun of the foods I eat and constantly make comments about it, and yes I do get frustrated, but oh well, they are entitled to their opinions and crappy eating habits. My college professor always had an acronym: GIGO, Garbage in, garbage out. So you put garbage in your body and you get garbage performance from your body. That has been my tool to remind myself to not feel like garbage, and to help my daughters understand that you are what you eat (absorb). Much love Mic! Love your beard coming back.
I think that’s disingenuous to say that “I can kill animals again” as some kind of a relief or “I don’t have to put up with pressure from my friends or society anymore” is why people eat meat again. That’s just totally unscientific and not based on any real psychology whatsoever. I’m a plant based eater, by the way, and refuse to call myself Vegan for this intellectually dishonest critical view, as exampled of Maddie. Look, placebo is real, and anecdotal evidence is also not to be taken too seriously. But, unless you have actual science based evidence that Maddie’s result is placebo, is really uncool to suggest you know her personal biochemistry based upon her eating choices.
I've been vegan since March 2, 2014 and I don't see myself ever quitting. I went cold turkey over night and I got so much crap from my family and peers and I still do to this day even though six years have passed, but it won't affect me. I have never felt so good in my life. I celebrate my anniversary more than I do for my birthday because it's that special of a day for me!
This is pretty insightful, I experienced something like this when I stopped being pescatarian and went back to eating all animal products. If I'm being honest, it was a relief to be like everyone else and having everything back on the menu again. (Two and half years vegan now btw)
Thank you so much for making this video, Mic!🙏 I really like Maddie and have followed her for a while, so I really appreciate hearing your perspective on these recent events. I thought you handled the situation politely and intelligently and made some very interesting and valid points. 💚 I am vegan and intent to be one for life, but I wish Maddie nothing but the best of health and happiness. 💕 By the way, yours is one of my very favourite TH-cam channels!😊🌱
I've been vegan for almost a year now, and plan on continuing doing so. However, I've also been suffering from debilitating period pains for over 6 years, with having to take ibuprofen + paracetamol + weed + hot compress + cry just to make it through the first two days - every single month. This is something I think no man could understand. If I suddenly found that fish solved that, and I could live my life pain-free, I may not be vegan anymore as well. I know it's hard for people to hear that, but if after trying every solution, you come across one, it's not that easy to keep suffering
Did you try to change menstrual products you use? I had pains like you. When I was younger I had to stay at home during my period instead going to school. When I started working, bosses sent me home every time I had it because I looked like I am going to die. So 5 years ago when I started eating plant based I was looking for eco friendly products to cut my waste and found out about menstrual cups. I even joined facebook group and first thing that I noticed was that everyone write about having pain free or at least low pain and shorter periods after changing pads for cup. I've tried it and it hapened to me as well. No pain anymore and periods went from 7 days to now 3. Like wtf? Why? I have no idea. Also I dont eat legumes on my period, too heavy for my digestion, only veg... and drink mint tea. Sorry for my english, not my first language.
I think a man understands bad period pain as much as a woman who has never had any period pain. In any case, anti-baby pills, if you can take them, usually help with the pain as well.
I am a flexitarian and it is reeeaaaally hard. Not only were the meat eaters trying to convince me that i was on the wrong diet, every time i ate even the tiniest amount of animal product (because it is really hard to find a fully vegan meal with a reasonable price that isnt 10 miles away from where i live that is not utterly bland and unsatisfying), people would meet me with the "but i thought you were vegan" reaction and made everything really stressful. I really feel like giving up and telling everyone im not vegan or anything because its tiring as hell to explain why i was or wasnt eating animal products everytime i had a meal.
This is great information! All her excuses fall apart when we look at the actual data / studies. I'm vegan 15+ years and my period only became painless once I stopped consuming suffering! Let's make the connection ..
You can't possibly know that it is "biochemically" (or otherwise) "impossible." You are not omniscient in the realm of biochemistry and physiology. A variety of effects (effects that have biochemical components) can occur rapidly after ingesting a variety of substances.
About estrogen: estrogen levels are different depending on when in the menstrual cycle they are measured - they peak during ovulation and are very low before and during the period. There are also different types of hormone tests - we don't know what kind of test she did - maybe it was inadequate to diagnose her? I highly recommend the book "period power" - it was life-changing for me to learn in-depth about how my body works (as a woman)
A very perceptive video, I think. So many logical and reasonable explanations: vegans with 'issues' which tempt them to take fish and eggs would be well advised to watch it. Here in India dairy is similarly viewed though of course only 25% are vegetarian, so fish, chicken and eggs are most highly regarded here too as well as bovine milk (a lot of it from water buffaloes). And 'ex- vegan exhale' is cleverly coined. My niece at 22 has just turned vegan, of course surrounded like I am ('surrounded' in a manner of speaking: I live and eat alone and am very reclusive, but all the family, friends, relatives, people I know and am in touch with are non vegan). I shall share this with her as I've shared a couple of your videos. Btw she's started working for Google! Thanks for another very good video.
I actually have maybe a different view that lot of the comments here, but I think that this notion of completely black and white or 0 to a 💯 mentality is what is pushing more people to stop being vegan or not even want to attempt it out of fear of failing or fear of repercussions of the vegan community. I think we should support and not condemn people that are not 100% vegan or not vegan ALL the time but that are on their way to be one or are at least trying to be vegan some of the time be it 80 or 90 percent or whatever it is. We should welcome them! Not condemn and be divisive. Any percentage helps their health and the animals and the planet! Don't give more reasons for people to have to make these videos and garner more attention and support from meat eaters. Instead let's embrace people who are in the spectrum of veganism cause that warmth will actually help them become stronger as vegans! Positivity and inclusivity always wins against negativity or condemnation.
No, it's mentality like yours which is holding people back from actually living a vegan lifestyle. But it's not your fault, it's the media, dividing people AGAIN on what veganism means. There's no such thing as being "mostly vegan", that's like saying, "mostly against rape, torture and murder, but sometimes it's ok" 😅😂 It's not a diet. It's a philosophy of not wanting to pay for the rape and murder of animals in regards to "food" choices. Start off with food, then work in the clothing and cosmetics. Simples 👍😉
Vegan Vacancy I don’t see all this distraction and division. Mic and other vegans generally seem pretty chill and non-destructive. I just eat food that doesn’t come from animals. It’s not that hard
Vegan Vacancy there’s nothing wrong with being either vegan or being atheistic though. I’ve seen a lot of Christians being vegan and I’m saying that as someone who is not vegan at all.
Very well said! I love when other people know what’s best for you....? It’s your body, and your choice! For me being a vegan is giving all beings -humans -and animals a break... can we stop talking about Maddie now??
I love Maddie and was really surprised and disappointed when she announced this. I hope she will figure her shit out and find her way back to veganism. 💜
I just saw a video of her today comparing pictures of what she looked as a vegan and what she looks like today. More muscle, glowing skin, better hair. No placebo can do that.
Vitamin B12 has been discovered in1948. Before that people had no clue of it's existance. We still don't know everything, maybe there is some element, nutrient in animal products that is essencial to out well being, that is yet to be discovered. I am an ex vegan. I was a pescatarian for many years and it was great. Then I decided to go vegan and after half a year I had to quit due to health problems and I had similar problems as Maddie. Now I also eat white meat sometimes, eggs, fish. No red meat. We don't know everything. Be more humble.
Me too, bloating when away completely. Now my period kind of sneaks up on me, because I get no symptoms in the days prior. My skin was always pretty good, but since eliminating dairy and most oils, my skin is now flawless.
@@NLR759 Great! I keep a period calendar now so I can be prepared :P I still get occasional pimples though maybe coz I cant give up oil and junkfood lol
I watched Stephanie Buttermore she had lost her period, was always cold, always hungry when she was super tone and in a calorie deficit. When she went all in and ate whatever she craved she got her period back and felt happier.
I absolutely understand how a very small amount of healthy animal products made a huge difference for Maddie 🌱 makes *total* sense to me (i’m not a doctor but a physical therapist by vocation)
@@JohnDoe-my8kj then you're simply not vegan. Why can't the gelatin be replaced with something else? Many medications have non-gelatin capsules. Or isn't it possible for a compounding pharmacy to formulate your medication in a different form?
This video is exactly how I've been feeling for years. I have severe anxiety due to this. Every day I'm hearing jabs about not eating meat and stuff. It adds up, my friends..
These kinds of videos actually make ex-vegans more outspoken. First of all it helps them become aware of their numbers and that there are people who share their experiences. But then the blatant gaslighting that’s going on in this video also drives them to become outspoken. Also, she saw several doctors not just the one ND, per her Instagram. I’m sure the ER gave her referrals too.
Thank you this! When I stop eating eggs and fish I feel so tired and fatigued with low concentration levels. I enjoy regular exercise, I did so much research to try and get the right vegan balance but I did struggle with an exclusive vegan diet. That’s just my personal experience.
I lost over half of my hair being vegan for three years... but let’s just ignore that. It was either “I was too stupid to plan the diet” or “I’m lying and exaggerating it”... yeah....
I am 65,,4 years ago I went vegan ,raw vegan to be exact, the science was there,I researched it,it made sense to me,,about 3 months into it,I was enjoying the food,it was great, but my gut started to act up, I started having severe pain about an hour after eating, and lots more gas,I couldn't sleep at night bloated all the time. so I went back to a more ketogenic style of eating,it took a year to undo the severe pain, but it did go away. Now I fast every day,and calorie restrict,,this has made all the world to me..I am not against veganism, I think its great,,it just wasnt for me. thanks.
I’m not vegan but i do wish these ex vegans were not vegan ethically. I wish they’d just eat 85%-90% wfpb. I do eat wfpb but not vegan. I feel great physically & emotionally. I also personally think people could benefit more from wfpb oil free. I’m 48y.o female. I had bad acnes most of my life. Yet once i dropped most processed food & animal protein, my period became less heavy flow, sleep better, less explosive emotionally. I used to date a vegan who’s 16 yrs older than me. He was the one who open my eyes to what i can eat. I don’t think fish/egg would do anything on the body other than harm. I even get my daughter to eat less fish.
I'm so disappointed, I really like Maddie. I didn't know she broke up with Kyle. There's more going on here. I wish her well and hope she comes back to veganism.
Agree totally! None of my friends or family are vegan. The ostracism is real. So I keep it on the down low as much as possible.
Oh please. Real ancestral foods are not akin to a cigarette habit.
I would say the same thing about alcohol.
She's been drinking too much Skooma 😂😜
I could not feel more uncomfortable.
u couldn't feel more uncomfortable? that's an overstatement considering some of the stuff that happens at the gyno.
That's why I usually don't tell doctors I am vegan.
For me going vegan was the exhale, because I no longer hat to fight my feelings when consuming animal products. Before I had to justify to myself. That can be stressfull too.
That was exactly how I felt going from vegetarian to vegan.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Going off birth control being (and she appears underweight to me ) will definitely cause chaos for the woman’s cycle and associated symptoms for a few months. I speak from personal experience. My guess is she associated the non vegan foods with feeling better but didn’t take into account that her body was working hard to rebalance her hormones.
Yeah, I went off birth control and I didn’t have a period for like 9 months. It was so weird! Much better now
Came here to say this.
It takes your body over a year to regulate your hormones after years long of birth control pills. Birth control pills can also lower period pain and of course cause a regular cycle. Not all women have a regular cycle. Mine varies between 35 and 50 days, always has. Nothing to do with diet, it's genetic.
I'm was only 5' 8" before I started eating fish and eggs and now I'm 5' 8.00000000000000001"
Fish and eggs. the miracle foods.

It's all about her new relationship. She was vegan with her previous boyfriend and her new one isn't. I know a lot of women who do this. Just match up with whoever they are dating. She clearly gave in to social pressures.
Yep. I still follow Kyle on instagram and from his stories, it looks like he's still vegan and so is his new girlfriend.

@@jadeking3022 That's right, he sure is. Clearly, he truly made the connection to the animals and all that this lifestyle is all about. 🌱💚
I know a person who stopped being vegan for his girlfriend. So relationships do make a difference! Sadly.
Thank you for your compassion. This was so nice to read.
Joaquin’s speech was so powerful!
Thank you very much for realizing that it was the way you transitioned and not the vegan diet itself. I was happy to read your honest experience

Fully agree. Looks like she just followed what her new bf(non vegan) is doing. Her video is just an excuse
It was suspect that prior to their breakup they were both drifting away from their vegan diet. It appears that he is also no longer vegan as well.
Jose Caceres I think that Kyle was vegan before she was, there’s a video about it, and that influenced her to become one
She is a fake vegan. she was never vegan. Veganism is for the animals.
I had an ex-vegetarian/vegan exhale after being raised vegetarian. I was studying naturopathy and many of the lecturers were anti-vegan. But I always had a voice in the back of my head telling me I was doing something wrong. Been vegan for 2 years 💚
Lectures that were "anti-vegan"... bloody hell that's fuckin' absurd 🤨
That's like saying they were anti - wanting animals not to be raped, tortured and murdered. Absolute bell ends, and no doubt funded by the vile meat & dairy industry.
Johny40Se7en yeah it was pretty wild. A peer of mine that was vegan is now eating animal products which is a real shame as she’s now a practicing naturopath.

Yup, makes me feel like a weirdo
I have a hard time understanding the social isolation aspect of it. The only vegans I actually know, apart from those on social media, moved to different areas of the country. No one in my family is vegan, nor are my coworkers, or anyone in my small group of friends. Pre covid if I had to bring separate food or ate before going out with friends it was fine. People judge and will mock you for it. I just think that if you believe in something than the options of others shouldn't matter when it comes to things in your life. To me it shows weak character. Just my two cents.
For me it is a PLUS, I do not have to interact with so many people, btw. I hate people.
Yes. Its really difficulty :(
@@louisnvrr yes people who drop off may have weak character that needs strengthening, but it’s better to deal with that in a compassionate way rather than judging and shaming people.
What was the hysterectomy to treat/stop?
I have a very similar story! Thank goodness for a whole food plant-based diet if you literally saved my life.

Wooo 19 years, I'm jealous. Do you know Vegan Foorsoldier's long-term vegan series?

Uh, I'm not documented celiac but I do have a wheat allergy and I remember having problems from wheat products since I was 5 years old - terrible problems. I've been trying to avoid wheat/ gluten products for 50 years. It would be so relaxing to actually be able to eat wheat. There are dozens of reasons why people feel better not eating wheat/gluten.
Unfortunately, I believe like all the ex vegans, they just don't want to be accountable, and they will come up with any excuse to eat non vegan again.

Mic, I really appreciated that you addressed Maddie's very low body fat levels relative to the volume she's eating. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.

My blood sugar’s the same. I’m a pescatarian 🤔
There's no sugar in meat so you can't blame that. What are you so proud of? What else did you give up?

Nope. She mentioned in her channel that she highly prioritizes feeling full and isn't big on reducing/cutting calories.
@@giselle5596 true she could just be a naturally slim lady!
I feel like there are several things we should rescue about Maddie's video:
- she knows where she stands and she's not fully convinced in having gone back to animal products, it definitely sounds like hey, I was at a breaking point, I tried it and it worked, but not like she's swearing off veganism/vegetarianism forever or concluding that veganism is not sustainable.
- she stopped posting so she would not have to 'fake' being vegan, and only opened up when she was ready to deal with the backlash and effects
- she knows the impact of her change on others, and the vegan community as a whole, and she treated the manner with respect.

How come when i have had health issues, not once did i think "hm let's see about incorporating dead animal flesh" 😳

She said that she had been struggling with cramps ever since she became vegan and stopped taking birth control pills, so she assumes that it was the vegan diet that caused the cramps and not that she was no longer taking birth control pills that had been regulating her hormones. A person needs to find out what is medically wrong otherwise the problem is not going to be addressed long-term, but it’s hard to find a doctor who will help track down a problem (MDs are sometimes actually the worst in that regard).
The instant healing when ex-vegans start eating animal products sounds exactly like the instant benefits people claim when they first go vegan.

It is difficult to be a vegan in our omnivorous society. Some people cope with it better than others.
Like Mike said, that's why it's easier to find the kind of weird people to be vegan, they already don't fit in. If in this world the pressure is too much, the majority should go at least plant based.
There’s a story that she had a breakup with her vegan boyfriend. She might have been a vegan just to be with him.
Might explain the depression
The light beard / 5 o'clock shadow has grown on me. I love it!
Thank you for speaking up on this topic because I have often thought that these ex-vegans are more susceptible to placebo effect and social pressure.
"I'm no longer fully a pacifist"
This is the sentence I use when getting frustrated by the likes of ex-vegans that go full, on let me kill animals to get close to nature. heh, I do it purposely though as a joke
Thank you for writing this, my exact thoughts.
“ethically bound to continue going against the grain [of our incredibly sick society]” >>> when vegans breathe a sigh of relief
Right? It's more of a reason to be Vegan!
Vegan exhale 🥰
Thank you so much for making this video, Mic!🙏
I really like Maddie and have followed her for a while, so I really appreciate hearing your perspective on these recent events. I thought you handled the situation politely and intelligently and made some very interesting and valid points. 💚
I am vegan and intent to be one for life, but I wish Maddie nothing but the best of health and happiness. 💕
By the way, yours is one of my very favourite TH-cam channels!😊🌱
I've been vegan for almost a year now, and plan on continuing doing so. However, I've also been suffering from debilitating period pains for over 6 years, with having to take ibuprofen + paracetamol + weed + hot compress + cry just to make it through the first two days - every single month. This is something I think no man could understand. If I suddenly found that fish solved that, and I could live my life pain-free, I may not be vegan anymore as well. I know it's hard for people to hear that, but if after trying every solution, you come across one, it's not that easy to keep suffering
The fish: imagine how tired we are of it.
In any case, anti-baby pills, if you can take them, usually help with the pain as well.
britzik what are anti baby pills?
@@ALBUMOF2008 Contraceptive, The Pill, the ones you take to not have a child. Perhaps the word I used is outdated.
What you say makes sense to me Mic, thanks for the video. Have a great day
Oh wow! I watch her workout videos on MadFit. I didn’t even know she had another channel or that she was vegan.
You can't possibly know that it is "biochemically" (or otherwise) "impossible."
You are not omniscient in the realm of biochemistry and physiology.
There's no such thing as being "mostly vegan", that's like saying, "mostly against rape, torture and murder, but sometimes it's ok" 😅😂
It's not a diet.
Vegan Vacancy 👌🏾
Vegan Vacancy there’s nothing wrong with being either vegan or being atheistic though. I’ve seen a lot of Christians being vegan and I’m saying that as someone who is not vegan at all.
Very well said! I love when other people know what’s best for you....? It’s your body, and your choice! For me being a vegan is giving all beings -humans -and animals a break... can we stop talking about Maddie now??
I love Maddie and was really surprised and disappointed when she announced this. I hope she will figure her shit out and find her way back to veganism. 💜
"Which came first, fish or the egg?" That wasn't intentional was it?
I swear you were Canadian 😲
He's Midwestern US nice.
I just saw a video of her today comparing pictures of what she looked as a vegan and what she looks like today. More muscle, glowing skin, better hair. No placebo can do that.
@LifeofBeauty K Vegans telling ex-vegans what they think they did wrong. smh
Yay I was hoping you'd do a video on this! I was pretty confused by her explanation and decision. OK, watching now 🙌
Vitamin B12 has been discovered in1948.
My pimples and period pains almost vanished since I went vegan. And I just dropped dairy I was already vegetarian
Me too, bloating when away completely. Now my period kind of sneaks up on me, because I get no symptoms in the days prior. My skin was always pretty good, but since eliminating dairy and most oils, my skin is now flawless.
I eat fish. When I dropped dairy I had a similar (male) reaction. Dairy irritates my stomach. Fish doesn’t.
@@NLR759 Great! I keep a period calendar now so I can be prepared :P I still get occasional pimples though maybe coz I cant give up oil and junkfood lol
@@haroldberman1341 Good for you. Dairy seems to be the main cause behind hormonal type acne
She definitely looks healthier and her hair doesn't look so thin. Vegan diet shouldn't be forced on everyone. I will continue to eat meat.
Clown npc.
I watched Stephanie Buttermore she had lost her period, was always cold, always hungry when she was super tone and in a calorie deficit. When she went all in and ate whatever she craved she got her period back and felt happier.
I absolutely understand how a very small amount of healthy animal products made a huge difference for Maddie 🌱
makes *total* sense to me (i’m not a doctor but a physical therapist by vocation)
Must say: "There is no such thing as "not fully vegan." Vegan is absolute.
Only a Sith deals in absolutes (and vegans 🤣)
Couldn't agree more!!
I'm not fully vegan... I consume a small amount of gelatin on daily basis because of my meds.
What about the insects that die because of the pesticides that are used? Do they not count?
@@JohnDoe-my8kj then you're simply not vegan. Why can't the gelatin be replaced with something else? Many medications have non-gelatin capsules. Or isn't it possible for a compounding pharmacy to formulate your medication in a different form?
This video is exactly how I've been feeling for years. I have severe anxiety due to this. Every day I'm hearing jabs about not eating meat and stuff. It adds up, my friends..
Fear not Watson, the vegan Sherlock Holmes (aka Mic the Vegan) is on the case. Great stuff.
Thank you for your respect for facts and truth. Greetings from Canada!
yeah i think we're done with "health vegans"''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
I lost over half of my hair being vegan for three years... but let’s just ignore that. It was either “I was too stupid to plan the diet” or “I’m lying and exaggerating it”... yeah....
Sana EXACTYL. I wouldn’t say they are lying, I just think they are unaware right now, but they soon will be
I am 65,,4 years ago I went vegan ,raw vegan to be exact, the science was there,I researched it,it made sense to me,,about 3 months into it,I was enjoying the food,it was great, but my gut started to act up, I started having severe pain about an hour after eating, and lots more gas,I couldn't sleep at night bloated all the time. so I went back to a more ketogenic style of eating,it took a year to undo the severe pain, but it did go away. Now I fast every day,and calorie restrict,,this has made all the world to me..I am not against veganism, I think its great,,it just wasnt for me. thanks.
Well, we'll never know if veganism could have worked for you--we'll only know it didn't work eating the combination of foods you ate.
@@HealingLifeKwikly yeah raw greens, def didnt work for me.
