I don't know how many times I heard it. but I always come back here to appreciate this work of art. Mix Dark, Rpg, adventure, Retro, a tone of melancholy. Playing games, reading, working always beats that feeling that I need to hear this song again!
I finally found a modern dungeon synth dark enough. Only the oldschool or the rare ones were available, but here we have one bewitched enough! Thanks! We should have a category for these. dark dungeon synth instead of just dungeon.
Nah, this is what dungeon synth refers to. Most modern DS is really fantasy ambient, a broader term to encapsulate a wider variety of often lighter sounds straying from the grim and melancholy medievalist black metal and dark ambient roots. This is so much closer the "dark dungeon music" Mortiis was talking about back in the day, closer than a good dozen of the previous uploads on this channel.
Another wise arse who like to rename genuine stuff to something else. xD THAT IS DUNGEON SYNTH. It's children can have different names. I'm lucky I was listening to Mortiis stuff back in the days.
@@hadeseye2297 so you did and never realized, that he called it dark dungeon music and "dungeon synth" is a le reddit xD name that just stuck because ~80% of people that roam this planet are genuine tards due to sub105 iq?
damn. i am really digging this. i love the organ usage! i've always been a big fan of things like midnight syndicate, nox arcana, narsilion, dargaard, dark sanctuary, and Adrian von ziegler, so it's easy for me to get into dungeon synth.
Don't you agree theres just not enough Black Metal bands making use of these neoclassical sounds (like in dark souls or bloodborne) ? There is symphonic bm, but it's just not the same because they don't give the classical instruments or synth melodies enough space to evolve in their songs. Sympho BM has mostly just a background keyboard going on that goes nowhere and has a 2 or 3 tune melody, which is rather boring. There are exceptions like old Limbonic Art or Moongates Guardian...but overall the Bands who use this kind of style are very few. I wan to get hit during a BM song with a massive wall of dark souls triumphant melodies or bloodborne darkness cello.
@@Blutroth yes for sure. using both synth and guitar just seems to open so many more possibilities than using only synth or only guitar. granted, i know there's probably a sense of bias on my end, considering i do prefer electronic music to guitars. because of that, i do tend to be pretty picky with metal.

you know I've kind of noticed now that I've really gotten into dungeon synth there's three types this feels more like the classic dungeon synth like jim kirckwood or secret stairways it has this looming dead in the background like exploring some old mold ridden tomb where at any moment something could pop out and try to stab you, then there's also the more video game like ones like quest master, and the more folk song ones like your traveling through a wilderness . classic/dread synth ,folk synth, and retro/chip synth.
No matter the so called progress of this world, the way how the second song delivers it's title with that lo-fi depression pretty much sums up the current global situation.

@@sneezebiscuits7239 I'm well aware. Still sounds like shit. To clarify, I don't mind a track or two with that stuff, but I can live without the whole album being like that. I think it fits perfectly with the instrumentals to set the tone. It works to create an interesting atmosphere and emotion. Plenty of albums with no vocals thought, even from the same project.

I think that it is a really cool idea to have an entire album as an intro for a coming album yet to be released.

Dark, etherical and tranquilizing. Reminds me of Varg Vikernes' ambient albums which are fascinating in the similar way!

Is it necessary to invent sub-genres that are the same shit in order to look different from other projects?

The music itself is great but the weird ambient screaming kinda ruins it for me low key.

They mean the vocals. There are no lyrics available online.
