    8/14/23 I have a lot of work to do on the rig. I plan to upgrade the shocks, trailing arms, rear driveshaft, 12V system, and much more. The ironman Foam Cell Pros have served me well but my truck is just too heavy for them now. Time to get on board with some remote ressies...

    Great looking at the two builds! Thanks for your help and advice as a newbie owner the other day. The parts list sheets you created are awesome!

    • @cruiserpatch
      @cruiserpatch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those sheets are the culmination of three + years of work on my truck. They're the perfect place to start for a new 100 series owner

    Thanks for the video! Wife willing and money permitting i'll get that heavily dessired Dissent rear bumper. The shock lowering kit and rear upper arm triangle reinforcement is a great idea!

    • @cruiserpatch
      @cruiserpatch  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m very impressed with the rear arm reinforcements on Zach’s truck. I’ll likely do something similar.
      The dissent is absolutely worth the money. I’ll be releasing a comparison video of it next to a few other manufacturers soon

    A middle ground solution for the swaybars may be to keep the rear and remove the front. Apparently this actually increases front end articulation with the IFS more than with the rear removed.

    • @cruiserpatch
      @cruiserpatch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I watched Kai’s video too but don’t want a rear sway bar in the way. One more thing to rip off on a rock.

      @@cruiserpatch His videos are fantastic.

      I can confirm, I kept my rear swaybar in and removed my front swaybar, I gained about 34mm more up travel and 15mm down travel in front suspension. I have slinky long travel setup in rear and lost about 50mm down travel and 15mm up travel but the additional front flex makes the vehicle far more capable than removing both swaybars. Like Tinker says, it's all about the balance of front to rear.
      You can then also benefit from longer front shocks, those Ironman shocks are the same length as factory, too short for that lift you have. Icon or Dobinson IMS shocks are about an inch longer and will give you an extra 40mm more down travel in front.

    • @SteveBurns80
      @SteveBurns80 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, on Zac's rig, why not just use longer shocks rather than chopping the mounts? I get that he achieved more down travel doing this but seems a bit crazy when there are longer shocks out there than those he's using.

    Those steelies are cool. Didn't know that Tundra wheels also fit (newbe here). Can you talk about your commo systems? What are you running? Ham? FRS?

    • @cruiserpatch
      @cruiserpatch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i use GMRS frequencies, specifically with a rugged radios GMR45W unit and the Alamosa Antenna GMRS antenna (+6DB). i also carry a handheld rugged radio for spotting and/or folks who didn’t bring comms

    Great build man. Thanks for sharing. Did you have to do a lot of cutting and such to fit the 35s? Any need or plans to re-gear? Im on 305/70/16 now and always wonder about 35s.

    • @cruiserpatch
      @cruiserpatch  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hammered in the pinch weld and added aftermarket UCAs and bumpstops. Besides that i’ve had a bit of rub at full compression but it’s unavoidable without removing the fender liners completely

    • @cruiserpatch
      @cruiserpatch  ปีที่แล้ว

      As for the gears, my truck is sluggish now but it’s not even measurably slower than it was with 33” mud tires. I’ll be regearing my transfer case soon once I can afford the high range gears

    • @kw3674
      @kw3674 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey sorry to bug ya again. Really like your wheel set up, looking at going up to an 18 inch wheel. Any idea what the width and offset of your wheels? I’m looking at maybe 18x9.5 with +6mm offset, trying to figure out how that would fit.

    • @cruiserpatch
      @cruiserpatch  ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly have no clue. They’re factory Tundra rims from toyota so you can probably google that info

    • @kw3674
      @kw3674 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cruiserpatch I did actually. In case you’re wondering… 18x8, but not sure about offset, one source said 18-50mm. Thanks for you reply.

    • @cruiserpatch

      yes 100% I’m using the SuperPro diff drop kit. I’m currently backordered for those estimated back in september

  • @brkbtjunkie

    I just got a stock 06 lx, what size tires would you recommend putting on the stock wheels. 285/60/18 or 275/65/18?

    • @cruiserpatch
      @cruiserpatch  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends what you want to do with the truck. I wouldn’t offroad with anything less than a 35” tire on a 100 now that i’ve felt how much better it rides offroad

    • @cruiserpatch
      @cruiserpatch  ปีที่แล้ว

      A 33” fits without issue on a 100 and a 35” requires slight modifications (aftermarket UCAs, spacers, and pinch weld mod)

    Hello, what suspension do you have on the LX 470? I want to delete my AHC and I’m unsure as to what suspension to get. And how does your suspension ride?

    • @cruiserpatch
      @cruiserpatch  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      rule of thumb: aftermarket torsion bars and springs make it ride stiff. the closer you can keep it to stock the better it will ride. if you lift it, it will ride worse unless you want to spend big money on racing shocks. dobinsons and ironman make good suspension kits that would be good replacements for AHC
