Marine grade plywood is also void free, no air pockets just glue and thick “veneer” plies, this is why more layers/plies. Basically 99% of new speakers use cheap drivers, nothing like a 515 or a 288 components and the flux energy is no where close to GPA new products or the efficiency, heck they could use JBL drivers like OJAS did on some of his speakers. OJAS’s big bad boys use, I think, use used Altecs or new GPA drivers and WE/Altec knockoff mid/high horns. Also the mid/high horns could be time aligned by moving the sleds back and forth to get the highs and lows hit the listener in phase, it is really not about loading.
They made 100 of them, you're paying for exclusivity. The horn is also sand cast, Devon said he did a run of 200. There are other components used that aren't getting any economies of scale. You get the stand for the price of $8500.
I watched that video yesterday I like live cabinets that add to the harmonics The edges of the wood cut-out for the back mounted woofers should be melted on both side to reduce defraction
I like the overall design but not the execution. Looks like DIY which shouldn't be a thing, for that price. Klipsch needs a new line of loudspeakers, with solid wood, maybe even actively driven, some new concepts, maybe a full range horn speaker with isobaric subwoofer setup or something. PS: Troy Audio is great at bringing Altec speakers back.
All Baltic birch plywood’s, were not created the same…. Unless you are buying from a reputable supplier, you’re going to get questionable quality ply. The birch Home Depot sells, does not match the quality sold by the specialty supplier I use.
The price point is for the elite..im sure it sounds wonderful. Ill have to audition them..if i can find a dealership. And yes its a mini Altec speaker model. I remember back in the day that they were popular for public broadcasting and some home audiophiles. A friend had the bigger Altec..voice of the theater speakers, and they were impressive. Why build it with low grade plywood ? And no finish on it..it makes me question this build !
The collaboration is making this really expensive, I like it but it is too much for what it is. The woofer is from the Heresy IV. At least that is what was said in the original video. They'll make a killing on this.
K-28 woofer costs $135...., thta plywood max 150 if at all, eve marine grade void free. OK lets say the custom cast cost 500-750 (if more, then good ole USA is ripping it self off), crossover very simple as the ojas guy said, and CD anything up to 150. We are talking retail prices, not what klipsch has in stores, like thousand of them (big discounts). Only thing that is bespoke for this is the horn casting. So no, no scaling og economics. Drivers are porovided by Klipsch, crossover parts by Klipsch. Paying only for exlusivity. Not even for awesome sound. Just look at the specs. 8500 and all he gives you is "40 something" resonance. Thats what is says n the page, 40 something. reputable compnay stating measured Fs as "SPOMETHING" :D :D :D piece of poop
These speakers design and pricing make used Altec very appealing.
I noticed a lot of manufacturers are making their new speakers look like mini me Altec's.
Good Day. All Good News in today's video. As Always. It should have a 15" speaker instead of a 12". Thank You
I love everything about them except I can’t afford them 😂
Plywood sound better than mdf

Thx! :)
No problem!
Cornwall's not Cornwell's . Sorry for the correction sir .

Very little diffraction off wood edges unless you meant reflection?
I noticed that also. It looks like they need to have a little more work done them.
OJAS will never do a burl walnut... Its not about price, it's a design language thing.

No cross-bracing in that box?
On purpose- not cost cutting

I was shocked to see how the horn resembles my horns in the Valencia but they're smaller.
Wonder why he went with a 511 B design. There are far better lenses out there nowadays.

Have you heard them? No? So how do you know what it is?
Not my bag either but
Low volume product -so not as much profit as you would think
PS these will likely appreciate eventually
@@ivodepievo9481I ordered but admit I’m scared they’re just glorified Heresy’s
