Rick Joy Tour of Studio Rick Joy

Rick gives a short walk through of Studio Rick Joy. Built in 1999, this space was built mostly by Rick himself in a design build format. It has served as the studio’s headquarters for over 20 years. Located in the nationally historic neighborhood of Barrio Viejo / Barrio Histórico in downtown Tucson, Arizona on Tohono O’odham land.
This tour was made for the U of A panel of local architects. Rick is a U of A School of Architecture alum.

I attended a lecture by Rick Joy in Dublin, Ireland in 2006 (I think) when I still lived there - one of the most down to earth architects and best architecture lectures I`ve ever attended. Funnily enough, today I decided to search your name and found this new channel and these three videos - as I will probably never get to see it in person, I just wanted to thank you, in particular for that inspirational lecture many years ago, but also for sharing this tour of your workspace in Tucson - hopefully I can find a plan of the layout of the buildings online. I for one would definitely be interested not only in the surrounding buildings, but also to join Rick on similar tours of some of his other projects - gaining his thoughts and insights and his humour - hopefully that`s something he`s considering... I look forward to seeing more. Thank you again Rick.
