RJ works are truly brilliant and inspiring. His book “Dessert Works” speaks volumes of his sensibilities of space, form, light and attention to details are very captivating. I was very fascinated to hear him share his days as a musician as I can truly relate as drummer and sincerely appreciate his sense of humor. Where does one truly go after working Steven Holl? Excellent interview. Thank you for having him 🙏😊

very cool. Sometime you might search for a connection between Rick Joy, the late Judith Chafee and a.Richard Williams. Williams was one of my professors at the U of I. He mentions his association with Joy and Chafee in his book "Archipelago". Judy was the daughter of Christina Bloom for whom I worked in Chicago ages ago. I'd say that modern architecture is not popuar in AZ. A house by Ms Chafee was torn down because it was hated :(
I always enjoy your interviews :) Best Regards, Rich

@@secondstudiopod Glad to have introduced them to you. Not many know of them these days. There was a book written about Judy a few years ago. Is that why you called her a "powerhouse"? anyway she also designed and had built a house for her mother that was last owned by the U of Az I think. It was ransacked and damaged at one point. It's in her book. So strange to see some of her mother's possessions in photos that I remember from her Chicago apartment. One of the grads now a phoenix Archi gave a lecture at RPI where I last worked. Afterwords I asked him if he knew Judith Chafee...... he was shocked to discover someone who knew her waaay out east in Troy, NY. Apparently her last years were rough with emphysema and I was saddened to know. Like ships passing in the night those brief memories. Strong women with quite a past I'll never forget. I learned much about Scandinavia from Mz Bloom aka "Cricket". (He might be a good person to interview..... I will pass along his name if I can dig it up,,,, damn memory shot!) Just rambling. Tx for communicating :) if you look up Judith Chafee Johnson house photos, this is her mother's house: www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=judith+chafee+johnson+house&tbm=isch&source=univ&fir=8jGKP0K5jd-2aM%252CGDwhbI4DpjkQaM%252C_%253BLtcjNIJsQizMoM%252CGDwhbI4DpjkQaM%252C_%253B3B-v_a8uV7eKeM%252Cv5eO0_sGeQuySM%252C_%253BKwU97QzVbUl2dM%252CGDwhbI4DpjkQaM%252C_%253BiUeL0WvlTKMk0M%252Cv5eO0_sGeQuySM%252C_%253BYRQDnAsp_cWVZM%252CGDwhbI4DpjkQaM%252C_%253BQtANfu4h9SVVqM%252C6X11Y1Zq4rEpxM%252C_&usg=AI4_-kQe4dnphfeiIBiSKOhWqzqnio55Sw&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjuy7jkxOL9AhW2mokEHYzjDe4QjJkEegQIFhAC&biw=1920&bih=947&dpr=1
