- Join me as I begin to prep for the latest and greatest Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Dragons of Stormwreck Isle!
This is just a quick video to announce that I'll be recreating the entire Starter Set experience using the @WizKidsGames Warlock Tiles system, along with all the miniatures needed so that you too can build yours...along with other props that are guaranteed to bring the experience to the next level!

A starter Set box packed with AIR, as it is a specialty of WotC. Just put cardboard minis, maps, handouts, etc... Or just make the damn box slimmer ! If only the adventure was flawless, but "Stormreck Isle" needs a lot of prep and fixing from the DM before being playable.
I hear ya, they totally could’ve had a stellar product if they the included the minis (acrylic or cardboard like Pathfinder pawns) within the set to make it a complete package. So many people here feel the same way. I would’ve paid more for sure for the entire set to be ready to go. Regarding the packaging, I don’t know why they use such a big box for such little contents. It leaves a sense of perceived value that the original Starter Set and Essentials Kit have more meat. What you said about the DM having to adjust the adventure…I only made a few small tweaks but will make a video series about how to replicate my setup and what I would recommend and would change based on my play sessions. I hope you watch my next vid coming out in the next couple of days as it’s my take (how we played) on ‘Dragons of Stormwreck Isle’ using the entire Warlock Tile system along with all my minis and terrain. I’m here to help set this up for everyone so that they can provide the best possible experience for their party and will be posting my adventure very soon…just finishing my edits today or tomorrow ✌🏻

I seriously can’t promote the minis and terrain enough…which you’ll be hearing a lot of as I continue on my quest to get others on board!
I picked up the Starter set from Target a couple weeks back.
I picked up the Starter set from Target a couple weeks back. Purchased some of the same minis shown and Spelunkers Docks. 3d printed a ship as I am not sure at this point to spend 250.00 on the Wizkids Falling Star ship.
Right on!! I’ve been sooo wanting a 3D printer, I allllllmost went that route but I couldn’t decide which to get and where to have it setup. I haven’t looked at them in over a year though. What 3D printer/model are you currently using?
@@darliniansdungeon My Son-in-Law bought the Ender 3 it is a great beginner 3D printer. If you do go that route spend a little more for the model with the larger bed. A majority of 3D creators (sources) have files that are Creality Ender (friendly) ready. It was a real pain to print the ship as some sections were about 10 mm larger than the printers base. He had to use a software tool to cut the file down to print smaller sections. For minis and terrain pieces it works very well though if you want high quality minis a resin printer (though more difficult for beginners) is better. 3D printing can save money, but sometimes it makes sense to buy an already existing product as well. Example if you are only going to have a couple of warlock tile sets then buy them. If going going to want like 5 of each set it best to print a comparative tile set, but it will take time and you have to paint them. To pint a comparable tile set takes a week as you can print only 4 to 6 pieces at a time and it takes 2 to 6 hours to print those 4 to 6 pieces.
@@friedrichhack1407 Cool, thanks so much for the info! That would definitely help knowing in advance before printing something that big!! When I was researching 3D printers a year ago, the resin printers really had me curious. I don’t have much ventilation though and I’m a little freaked out when it comes to chemicals. I started to see some eco-friendly resins that had virtually no smell but they cost quite a bit at the time. I may have to invest in one of these in the near future. I just can’t believe we live in a time where we can literally print toys at home. The precursor to the Star Trek replicator 😎

the 2d minis don’t have all the monsters from the adventure. which sucks. no zombies or harpy.
I totally hear ya, what seems to be the perfect set is just half of the needed minis required to complete the adventure. I don’t think they’re releasing a second set either as I’m always looking up their distribution for the next year and it’s not on the map. I’m not too sure the logic behind the 2D half-set or the 3D heroes that are not actually featured in-game. They were soooo close to getting it right…but then fell asleep halfway 😴
