Calls for proper school structure in rural areas of Xhorha

A no-fee school from the rural areas of Xhorha in the Eastern Cape continues to perform well despite difficult teaching and learning conditions.
The 2023 matric class at Gwebityala Senior Secondary School recorded a pass rate of 87.2%, an improvement of more than three percentage points from the previous year.
All of this was achieved in a school using prefab-type classrooms erected in 2020 due to a lack of space. Calls for a proper school building have not borne fruit.
