Our diagnosis of this rot is wrong. It is only partly true that these extortion syndicate are a system response to our high unemployment rate like with most other forms of criminal activity but in reality, we are wrong to assume that everybody wants to work and earn an honest living. Even if the economy flourished and there were enough jobs to go around there will still be some people who would rather do crime than wake up at 05:00am for a 7 to 4 job. There reason is simply because our punishment for crime is very soft and laughable. If I can rob someone off thousands and be out of jail in 2 years with a diploma and KFC in jail why would I want to wake up 6 days a week to go earn peanuts?

The masses got what they voted for.......its unfortunate that most people have to learn the hard lesson of experience. Africa has suffered from corruption since the first liberation from colonialism in the 1950's. Its a plague that has ravaged the whole continent. Until the European and African can trust each other to share governing responsibilities I expect nothing to change in the near future.

Unfortunately it serves their interest and they will not do anything about it. If you keep everyone in townships poorer with no hope of even opening a business, you're breaking their spirit and hope for success then you push them to doing nothing and just stay home with no income, then control them. It's all a government plan. Agenda 2030 read up on that, and you will know why they won't stop it. They know where it's happening, and they know people won't report it because the police are on the same payroll.
