Did exactly the same today mate cut and buff plenty of hot soapy water G3 and mop 1500 wet and dry job done 😃😃😃 good tutorial for any novice retailer 😀😀😀
🙏🤗 Hi Grant 👋. Love your new introduction 👍👏❤ This is one of your BEST videos with all the info and instructions in plain English for anyone either in the trade or enthusiasts... This lesson is so so informative and helpful... I've seen less good videos selling on ebay for good money and here you are giving them for free. You are such humble, professional master with GOLD heart 💛 . You deserve the BEST of THE BEST. I learned more from this awesome video than any of my previous attempts and research which took me endless hours in TH-cam. Love your honesty and your manners of working no cutting corners and no hold backs 👌 💪 👏 👍. Awesome teacher and instructor with great skills and knowledge...Thank you so so much for taking the time and hassle in that heat to make and share this awesome video which I think everyone in car detailing or paint corrections business would love to ban. RESPECT TO YOU Grant 🙏👍👍👏👏👏❤❤❤ ✌❤☘POWER TO YOU in dealing with any criticism from jealous idiots who think they know it all 🤞🤞💪👊💪👊🥰🥰❤ ✌❤☘
And the same for me too. Almost 40 years since I scraped my first car & began my DIY painting, but until now never knew exactly how to get the finish I wanted unless I was using too much elbow grease. Thanks Grant, I'm a new subscriber. Love the Smart car, and that's going to be my next project. 👌👍
Well explained as usual Grant..not over complicated...over the years as a workshop controller I used to do 2 weeks in someone else's job,ie bodyshop,, valeting,, sale's,,,etc.. understanding someone else's job and the pros and cons of there job helps you be a better manager,,,I spent 2 weeks sanding filler and primer down also flatting and polishing etc after 2 weeks I had arms like Popeye,,but more importantly I understood someone else's job.....great video as usual Grant keep safe...
Cracking video mate. I always use the lights in the workshop as a guide when I check paint after polishing. As soon as I can see the light perfectly all round the surface with no haze or polishing tracks job done.
I am truly amazed at the depth of work you put in Grant, I would be so worried taking even 5000 grit to new paintwork, especially after all the preparation you had put in to achieving such a great paint finish, - but the way you have just explained and to reach the level of professional quality work that you do, I now fully understand what and why you do what you do!! Fantastic achievement. And very well explained. 👌👏👍
That panel looks spot on now Grant. I remember way back with my dad flating paint with wet and dry paper, bucket of warm soapy water and washing up liquid then buffing my hand.. Very well explained regarding short cutting I have it in my carpet cleaning game mate I only do a multi stage cleaning process some people just do the machine only service. From Richard
Long video? Seemed like 5 minutes. That’s a thumbs up on this one. Top video Grant. I noticed the Smart isn’t finished so hopefully we get to see completion and a numbers crunched including time spent on the repair 👍
Another great video Grant, well explained what a fantastic finish on the paintwork, one of your best videos loved this series on the smart car, keep them coming 😎
In Dentistry and Jewelry the polished surface is called a Beilby layer a Flow layer resulting from incipient fusion during polishing of mineral surface, and therefore not characteristic of true crystal structure (Not just minerals) Metals, Acrylics and I love the finish Well done Grant. Not a shine on a rough surface, but shining to the ultimate shine What ever you want to call it...... 100% wicked and super education.
Good advice there on the difference between polishing. And just so right on all these compounds they’re full of fillers and people never use panel wipe in between so think after one pass all the scratches are gone and do those beautiful Instagram shots. 👌🏻
Fully enjoyed this video Grant awesome and very informative. If a jobs worth doing do it right. There’s always someone trying to make short cuts. Mint work that is. 👍👍👍👍
Hi Grant, really enjoyed watching you show us how to do this process. It was a real eye opener into your work. You will have real bargain buy in that little Smart car.
Great video, really enjoyed it, I am a detailing enthusiast so do understand most of the principles, however I have taken onboard a lot of knowledge from this tutorial, thank you Grant❤️.
Love the very in depth vid grant i think what you have showed is 100% thanks for that. 1 question though is it a must with the panel wipe,,, is this a step that all detailers use or is this your preferred method being a painter and knowing how much product panel wipe can remove?,,,, nice work with the spotter as well..... do you ever use led loading or would you say its outdated by good body fillers. anyway keep up the excellent workmanship and vids.
I’m not sure tbh but most of the good detailers I know or have seen use it, and as for lead funny you should ask I bought a kit a few months ago not had a play yet don’t want to look a prat on camera not used lead for over 20 years 🤣🤣🤣 but will give it a go soon see if it comes back to me 👍👍👍👍👍
I'm with you bro, let the paint correctors use their tears to lubricate their 1000 grit sandpaper. Sterling job on the smart car by the way, as a young apprentice my tradesman used to say, "let the machine do the work" dead right. 👍🇳🇿
When you're on TH-cam. You're open to criticism as well you know big grant. Hence the thumbs down. But your ahead of your came. Great content again 👏 👌.
In my detailing days I used a two stage process with a rotary. 1st stage with 3m fast cut then 2nd with ultrafina. This method was the most efficient as it removed 95% of the defects without the need for a third stage which helped keep costs down for clients.
Really interesting. I have dabbled in this before but it's always that leap of faith to flat off the paint in the first place 😱😱. Will you polish the other side when you put the car back together for the full effect?
Yes it’s a solvent this is what I use groveshop.co.uk/other-consumables/21686-upol-fast-panel-wipe-5lt-2001-5.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwn6GGBhADEiwAruUcKo75BBBbxL7oMcteBrmrH6rshNdtJniAMAwWppiAZNpf8rfTEjR5qRoC3fgQAvD_BwE
Car's coming on nicely, totally agree with your views on detailing, I watch "Whitedetails" on TH-cam & he cut's refines & details, the cars he details are like glass after, because he's does it correctly.
Brilliant video that Grant really enjoyed it. Now can you paint and do that ro my Mini Cooper S convertible R52. Its an easy job no root and you'll do it in a couple of hours lol I'm going to keep asking until you give in especially as you're now taking paid jobs and it'll be great content for the channel as the R52 has a massive following 😊 cheers Grant
Hi Grant. Thinking about buying a DA to polish my car. Can you recommend pads and sizes also which polish please mate. Top video....learnt alot from it. Big up the fords 👍👍
Hi Grant. What a thorough and informative insight on how it's done, (correctly). 👍👍 ps. You mentioned in the intro, that you were going to use water (spray bottle) Did i miss it 🤔. I was so looking forward to a bit of Aqua, Water, Co2 applied to the body. 😂😂 See you in the next one.
