SHOCKLEY GRANT i agree with u on that. Vanilla also had that model face type ( strong square and long jaw followed by a ver well constructed facial ) plus the hair man
Fun fact, the cinematographer for this movie is the same cinematagrapher who went on to work with Steven Spielberg on Schindlers List, Saving Private Ryan and many others
Back when I was a teenager, this movie, which was brought by my brother, ended up influencing the whole neighborhood. Everyone one was imitating Vanilla Ice, with his crazy wear, hair cut, and cool attitude. We watched this a million times. How did Vanilla Ice not sustain his stardom escapes me to this date! He was the coolest and the movie at the that time struck everybody as amazing. I wish Ice could do another one!
+Sofian Qurashi Agreed. The story in the movie coulda used a little work, but the Iceman really knew how to bust a move and kick a lyric on the mic during the 90s. As I told another poster on here, his stardom started to fade because everybody was trying to hate on him because of his background story and other crap. They focused too much on his history and not enough on his skills as a performer.
@8 Miles High yet her you are almost 25-30 years later clicking on a video of his movie and watching it to bring back some nostalgia. If you thought he was so wack why are you clicking on his video clip? There must have been a reason you searched for his name and his movie. Cuz this video sure as hell doesn't just pop up on anyone's "related video" list. Lol. Why were you searching for vanilla ice my boy?
I was 19 when this came out and after watching, I went and purchased a road bike that was waaaaay beyond my capacity and capabilities (financially, emotionally, technically). I nearly died a few times trying to be the ice man and my GF refused to ride on the back. Saying that, after riding around nondescript salt plains and mining quarries, my skills definitely improved at the geometric rate....I abstained from jumping country fences near horse studs though.....tsk....tsk.....I think I was more Zero than Hero 😀
The director of photography for Cool As Ice, Janusz Kaminski, went on to collaborate with director Steven Spielberg, filming most of Spielberg's movies (eg Amistad, Saving Private Ryan, AI, Minority Report, Munich, & Ready Player One). Must've sucked for him realizing his career peaked early with Cool As Ice.
2024 and yeah id still say i like this movie. even though a lot say its "cheesy" but i know theyre just tryin to be cool about it back then. The Soundtrack is undeniable

Music: Daisy Dee - Crazy (do U remember her from Viva germany? :) ) . This song isn't on the official soundtrack. Only on the extended version. I have a film and OST for years. I love to come back to this movie - watch, listen, remember those times ...
Still one of the most underrated cult classics imho. These movies shaped a generation. Sure watching it in 2023 makes you realise how crap a movie it really was haha , but at the time , so much awesome !! .
Had the 1989 K model in Blue and White. Oil cooled, 404lbs. I hit 171MPH on a beach trip once, back when I was young and stupid. The fastest, most baddass bike of that era until the CBR900RR came out in 1993.
Fun fact: Vanilla Ice raced motocross IRL starting at the age of 8. He won the GNC national championship 3 times before his career in music. All scenes of him on the bike and stunts are actually him.
Vanilla Ice (Robbie Van Winkle) was so hot back then. Man, we used to jam off his music so hard, EVERYBODY: white, black, Asian, Mexican, ALL of us. No one cared, it was just fun back in the early 90's. Now, this shit today? Different story.
I love and respect Vanilla Ice! I loved this movie in all of its cheesy-ness! I just wonder, how many headaches did he get from making that wanna be...... whatever face? It's like the serious version of the duck lip selfie! 🤣
This movie was like top gun meets vanilla ice in its film photography and background 1988 to 1995 was great movies after that remakes and scientific movie came to play
Zooming past us like cray!!! I hear ya!
