And even after he returned vs Montreal, he wasn't the same player impactfully. Dale Hunter might have at one time being a highly respected player in the league, but his hit on Turgeon was a blindside hit & a total cheapshot from behind. Grapes, nobody cares if you're 'friends' with Dale, at least acknowledge what he did was WRONG for gawd sakes.

Although his dismissal in 2019 came as somewhat of a sudden & unexpected announcement, I wasn't entirely that shocked by it either. He was about to 'jump the shark' anyway, clearly displaying his political preferences when it was all said & done. Now I or hardly anyone else really even misses Grapes on Hockey Night in Canada anymore. It's over with and we can move on now.
I think Cherry was truly done, mentally, ethically, etc., when he could only muster an, "I don't know..." to RM's question as to what Matt Cooke was doing when he cut Karlsson...after countless rants v Cooke prior. Absolutely pathetic beyond words.

I think when a player intentionally hurts another player with a sucker move his punishment should be equal to and no shorter in time to how long the injured player is sidelined. Moore was never able to play hockey again.

Moore had it coming for the cheap shot on the Canucks' best player, Markus Naslund, so everybody had to pitch in, and what was messed up was the VAN was the best team in the NHL at the time so taking out the best player was such a punk move anyways! Fuck Moore!!!
