cheers ! this video was all shot on a Nikon 1.2 50mm. but since this video iv not used that lens and iv been using a mix of Pentax lenses and a meteor lens
Hey mate! Just shot my first roll on a s16 k3… Where did you get yours developed and scanned? Ive found a few options but I like the look of yours. Cheers
Sorry if I’m late haha But here in Australia I use a facility called Neglab in Sydney who process the film, and then I use a separate facility in Melbourne called memorylab who do the scanning. Depends where you are but if in Australia I swear by both, especially memorylab. Really happy that I have them as an option!
I'm still amazed myself for how clunky, inexpensive and simple they are!, and I mostly stick with the stock meteor lens unless I need a really tight far shot for something like surfing
Mostly a little colour correction being the scans come back kinda flat, and I can’t remember if this was on an iPad running luma fusion or final cut on a Mac
How can I achieve that flickering transition effect in digital? I have seen that in lots of footage authentically shot on film but wonder what is it called and how do I achieve that.
its basically just an over exposed frame between each take. you could probably play around with placing a white frame with some variations between each take.
This looks fantastic! The gate doesn't look like a widened standard gate. Did you use a custom made gate, or did you add a mask in digital post? The camera movement is very smooth, did you apply stabilization in post? Anyway: great looking Super 16 footage!
Thank you ! Yes I did unfortunately, Through testing I found the pull down claw had become slitty shortened, thus resulting in poor registration. So I ran this first roll with a slightly loosened pressure plate so to make sure it wouldn’t jam (as practice rolls had). As a result it had quite a substantial jitter. But since this I acquired a second k3 and all is much better! Also yes the gate is an overlay, although the original gate had been converted to s16. But unfortunately due to needing to use post stabilisation, I had too crop in ever so slightly.
@@ssimplefilms thanks for the quick and comprehensive reply. I spotted a slight ficus issue between shots. No big deal. That's usually a loose pressure plate. Always great seeing film enthusiasts being resourceful. Best of luck for your future film projects!
A single frame between each take is exposed to light for an extended period of time, resulting in an over exposed frame that presents as a flash when played back. this is a pretty rough cut so I just left them in 👍🏼
@@whforsythfilm Neglab in Sydney for processing, then down too memory lab in Melbourne for telecine, both do an awesome job. Iv since had another 6 or so rolls developed and scanned, stellar job every time !
Beautiful footage
Cheers mate,
Appreciate it !
This is some seriously amazing quality👌🏽
Thank you greatly !
@@ssimplefilms Looks beautiful, what lens did you use?

Awesome footage! Love the super 16 look. Was the camera already converted to super 16 when you bought it?
Thanks mate, and yes I did purchase it having already been modified. iv got two now, both have been modified, such cool and minimal cameras !
Hi, beautiful results. What lens was used?
I believe for this I used a Nikon 50mm f1.2
Thanks mate !
Amazing!
Thank you !

@@ssimplefilms I'm in Darwin so my options are anywhere but here hahah. Thank you
Definitely look into those options though!
Memorylab also sells film 👍🏼
Super!
Could you please tell, what kind of tripod you are using? :)
I’m not entirely sure but I know it’s only just enough for this camera hahah
Looks incredible
Than you 🙏
loved it!
Magnifique !

Thank you greatly, love your videos by the way !
So good! I want a S16 K3 so bad lol
thanks !
I do love using this camera I've gotta say
Looks amazing! Is this with an EF mount then? Im looking into a super 16 EF adapted model and wondered what is the adapter you used and what lens?
Yep, a canon to Nikon adapter, worked well but just had a little bit of play,
Looks excellent!
thank you greatly
Beautiful! What's the name of the track?
Thank you!
The song is called
Ole (remix) - Moritz Von Oswald
I cant get over how clean this is from the k3! Almost too clean haha! Do you have a favorite lens to shoot with?
I'm still amazed myself for how clunky, inexpensive and simple they are!, and I mostly stick with the stock meteor lens unless I need a really tight far shot for something like surfing
Looks gorgeous.
want the real film look? shoot on fucking film like this guy
Thanks dude 💗
Superb quality, great storyline. What’s your editing/post?

Such a sick video man, just subscribed 😀
Cheers my friend, I truly appreciate that!

@@ssimplefilms what method did you use for stabilization?
@@jarhii just the one built into Final Cut Pro, I haven’t since used anything else, unfortunately final cuts takes some work to get right.
@@ssimplefilms you should jump into davinci resolve. I still love final cut but mostly davinci these day for color grading
