Thank you so much for watching my video! In this video, I used 140 lb student-grade watercolor paper, but regular printers can’t handle such thick paper due to its thickness. It was also quite difficult to cut. I recommend using a thinner mixed-media paper or 65 lb cardstock instead, as both are easier to cut and more printer-friendly. Alternatively, you can print the template on regular copy paper, laminate it with packing tape to make it sturdier, and then cut it out. That method works well too! I plan to share more videos featuring the Zorn color palette and other limited color palettes, so I hope you enjoy seeing what I create next!
The left page features a color wheel that demonstrates how two chosen colors blend together to create secondary colors. On the right side, you can explore the tertiary colors, the result of mixing three colors together. Each square represents a combination of three colors, carefully blended to achieve the desired shade. When painting the squares: 1. Mix three colors to create the target color. 2. Gradually dilute the mixture with water to observe how the value changes as the color lightens. This layout allows for a detailed exploration of color mixing, including secondary and tertiary colors, and tonal variations.
May I ask what material you're using to cut out the template from? 😊 Loved your color mixing!
