    Kanpai!
17:30 huh, I don't really remember that subplot either. I thought they were just embezzling money or something.
31:10 Helck is a great example of an antagonist who shapes the protagonist. also it was a great anime.
44:00 I haven't seen helsing ultimate, but think the arguement makes sense.
I often go by 'Chat' in other circles, so I don't mind.
45:00 Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is a great pick for this topic (antagonists that shape protagonists) because the main villain has been pulling the strings behind the scenes for most of the seasons now. and sometimes to the benefit of Bell, so it's been pretty interesting.
oh cool, I was looking forward to hearing what shows you guys will pick up this season. I'm going to try and pick up:
The Elusive Samurai, Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start with Magical Tools, Quality Assurance in Another World, he Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies, No Longer Allowed In Another World, Delico's Nursery, and Dungeon People. no idea how many of those I'll actually be able to keep up with. I haven't started any of them 😅
but a few of yours look pretty interesting, so I reserve the right to steal a few of the ones you picked (kidding)
Failure Frame sounds really lame to me, I'm interested in what Xeno thinks of it.
fantastic memes this week guys. great picks.

I know you guys said you didn't want to add shonen jump stuff but I really feel that goku and frieza were an iconic story of villains that shape heroes. I mean I know DBZ has has a new villain every season. but that one is just really fits. plus frieza was in the thumbnail...
also at one point you mentioned useless villains and I immidiatly thought of garlic jr. so DBZ has some of the best and worst examples. but it's worth mentioning.
pivoting away from DBZ go go loser ranger was a great exmple the Antagonist Shapes The Protagonist. but also an example of the protagonist not always being a good-guy.
oh and how about trigun. knives was a HUGE influence on vash. thats a good one I think.
I want to say deadman wonderland but I hardly remember the show. xeno liked that one right? I think he could tell us how the antagonist shaped the protagonist.
anyone see monster? it's been awhile but that story is a quinessential antagonist shapes the protagonist story.
I want to add a sports anime just for the "well ofcourse reaction" I'd get from xeno but I can't think of any.
