This, game is amazing and underrated. My only complaint is i wish there was more feedback when you hit enemies with melee or even guns. No feeling at all when you hit things
This game reminds me of BioShock. I'm waiting for Atlas to appear and ask how we like the upgrades to the bathysphere terminus and offer us a tour of the New Rapture. But it plays like Borderlands. I want more. MOAR! I appreciate the howto play introduction because I'm ready to hit the streets shooting. Remember when games came with manuals and the manual often had better production values than the game itself? I miss manuals with their comparative charts, real numbers to explain exactly what an upgrade does, Color photos, maps and diminutive action figures. Sniff....It's all gone now.
Those were the days, my friend. We thought they'd never end (*cue music*)... We'd sing and dance forever and a day.... ya da da da da DA.... et cetera... ad cheesy nostalgic overtones...:D
I remember the hard copy game manual that you got back in the day with the Diablo 2 FOR FREE with the game. Seriously, that game manual was way better written and had far more _useful_ information in it than 99% of the offiical game guides today that you have to pay $30-$40 for on top of buying the game.
Just the guide I was thinking of when I wrote this. Useful info. And because skill points were hard won and finite and there wasn't any reset, you read the hell outta that guide so you didn't have to pull a restart after you were 80 hours in.
I miss manuals too. There was nothing like reading the manual while the game was installing, preparing for the show. But there are still some games with great manuals and quality retail (boxed) versions. I got Pillars of Eternity and Wasteland 2, both of them have great manuals. I owned the digital version of PoE because I backed the game, but I bought the retail version for the manual and other goodies :D
_Reading the manual while the game installed_ Yes! Part of the game ritual. Unwrap, look at all the swag you got--maps, manual, poster, free codes for extra stuff in the game or upcoming games. Drink coffee, read manual....anticipate! I got digital PoE and it's just the typical on-board recording system of game hints. Nice to know the retail version still had some swag.
Awesome Slack! When I first saw this game, the guy ran through it, ignored the skills, didn't figure out upgrades etc. I knew you'd dig the action and humor and get into the mechanics. Super psyched for this walkthrough!
Thumbs up for Breaking Bad! Wang Lo sounds like he's from Hong Kong IMO, though I could be totally wrong. His accent reminds me of Bruce Lee, who grew up there though he was born in San Francisco.
You didn't mention, you can also Dash backwards. Great for kiting. And Sting and Vortex don't have to be charged. But is less damaging. And one thing I noticed about Crouching: when you Jump then Crouch in the air, you stomp on the ground. Haven't been able to try it but maybe it knocks back enemies, or kills small critters?
I hope you retain ownership of enough teeth so that steak is still on the menu. You are the same age as me and I damn well know I ain't surrendering to cold tapioca pudding served from a tarnished spoon.
So, I spend a hour in the Prey demo. Still in the first, _tutorial_ area of the game and it certainly has the System Shock vibe. *The game has quick save/load, manual save/load and autosave* ! You can have three different _runs_ (like in Doom), though I haven't tested if the saves are put into one directory, or are separated by the _run_ . I can't wait to get home from work. I am definitely going to play it more, even half sleeping after the night shift tomorrow :D
Looks like a game right for me. I will try to squeeze it to my tight schedule. How it is with saving in this game, Sir - autosave like Borderlands, or manual saves? Also I don't understand how the back up save work.
I'm not sure exactly how the backup save works either but it definitely saved me from a game-breaking glitch (you can see that about halfway through my State of the Walkthrough address SW2 gameplay vid). I'm presuming with every autosave, it makes another save after rewinding your progress a little bit. That way you can load a save where a potential game-breaking glitch hasn't been activated yet. Something like that, I guess...
I have 320 hrs playing this game on PS4 and still working with lvl 100-150 gems and barely 1K DPS weapons. What am I missing??!!! How do people get a 7K or 10K DPS on weapons??
legend. thank YOI sir! ive just started playin this game and its awesome for covid lockdown time wasting gotta say. an old hidden gem! but like u said theres no good info on it. ur lesson has me ready to get back in the fight man. udabezt
Thanks man! That was really helpful ! What a great game that is ! And to think that I’m able to play with a price of a game pass subscription 😎😎😎you got yourself a new subscriber 🤘🤘🤘
thanks for this, as you say the lack of info in the game and in the big wide world is unbelievable. fantastic game and it's my fave game right now and I am sure it will be one of my all-time faves. but the lack of info is prolly the reason this game has not sold like hot cakes, its selling but on a trickle basis on steam, mind you I think the price of £35.00 a year later is a bit out of order.
they just gave it away on GoG last week. I was lucky enough to grab a copy. it's an amazing game for sure though. I don't really play many FPS games neither, but this is an exception.
Flying Wild Hog is an indie dev. They don't lower the base price of their games (so the original Shadow Warrior from 2013 is also still at full price, $40 in the US, along with SW2). However, it goes on sale often, and as the previous reply said, it was free on GOG for their 10th anniversary celebration. Speaking to "selling like hotcakes," the 2013 reboot sold very well, and Flying Wild Hog said that they crushed the sales of the original with SW2. Can't wait for the inevitable, and hopefully even better (not sure how that's possible) SW3.
Dunno if you'll see my comment, but how do you quick sell on console? I can't seem to sell junk loot like my blues and whites all at once, and selling them individually becomes half the gameplay when you're in late game, also how do you guarantee good gem upgrades? I literally had 3 legendaries "upgrade" back to a level one white. this game and it's poor optimization is starting to piss me off honestly.
*Walter:* Wait for what? What are you waiting for? *Skyler:* The cancer to come back. Skyler got some Core in her! One of the best written shows. Only The Wire outdid it on the writing.
another game purchased partially because there's a slack walkthrough for it !! casual gaming is much more fun with a slack walkthrough in the background. game devs should pay slack to make these walkthroughs and post them !
Dual wield comes in a few different varieties in SW2. Pistols and sub machine guns can be dual-wielded with the 'Ambidexterity' gem that you slot into the weapon, so that gem is something you have to either find through RNG or a vendor. Assault rifle dual-wielding is possible through an amulet that specifically states it lets you dual wield AR's. I don't think any other gun or melee weapon can be dual-wielded. If you're looking to see if you have it, be sure you're trying to slot a pistol or smg, because if you're looking at gems while on a shotgun/rocket launcher/bow, etc, it may hide it because it's incompatible. Also, be aware that there is usually a trade-off with these dual wield gems. I think you get a higher miss rate or less ammo per clip or something like that.
Got the game yesterday it's fun but it's so fucking broken I closed it like 10 times in the span of 5 minute cause it kept glitching don't reccomend buying it above $10
REAL walkthrough starts tomorrow!! Be there or be square! :D
MSV: I am ready, bring it on!
100 freaken hours 28:40 and the exp bar was right in my face and didn't even notice god couldn't at least been made alittle more noticeable?
A gentleman always keeps his Wang Lo.

dude started explaining movement and i was like cmon we know this then he taught me how to sprint lmao

One of my fave games from years gone by. Looking forward to your walkthrough, Major!
Thumbs up for Breaking Bad!
Wang Lo sounds like he's from Hong Kong IMO, though I could be totally wrong. His accent reminds me of Bruce Lee, who grew up there though he was born in San Francisco.
Looks like a fun game Slack :) Thanks for posting this.
Definitely an underrated game. I like the lighter humorous tone compared to doom.
they tell you how to sprint right at the start it pops up right on the screen

Welcome back to SlackVideos Major sir, hope all your dental issues have been taken care of. Cheers
Yeah, mostly sorted out, thanks. One more tooth to pull next week. This time I'm ready though, i.e., I know what to expect... :P
I hope you retain ownership of enough teeth so that steak is still on the menu. You are the same age as me and I damn well know I ain't surrendering to cold tapioca pudding served from a tarnished spoon.

I tested save system today. Saves are separate for each _run_. Arkane did a flawless save system.
Thanks for the vid I was pretty confused with the weapons upgrades menu.

Currently building my gaming rig. Will definitely be picking this up and watching your vids.

I'm a little late to this game, but I believe the purpose of crouch is to hide under bridges while the enemy walks above until you're ready to strike.
Thanks man! That was really helpful ! What a great game that is ! And to think that I’m able to play with a price of a game pass subscription 😎😎😎you got yourself a new subscriber 🤘🤘🤘

Are u gonna do a REAL walkthrough for OUTLAST 2?
how u play this game depends on ur build, there r pure melee build as well which could be viable on highest difficulty.
I'm downloading it on Steam right now. Thanks for the tips mate.

Your favorite tv show is a theoretical physicist?
Heisenberg is a reference from Breaking Bad. The mission in question has you basically find the materials to make a drug.
