    I've never been to Vail resort. I am going tomorrow. I wouldn't call myself a beginner. But not quite an expert. Even though I have been boarding for 15 years. I used to do cool stuff at CB, but I usually cruise down the blues and greens with my family. I hope it isn't too terrible of a time. Thank you for the video.

    While I’m not a big fan of the things vail resorts as a company does, the mountain itself is one of my favorites

      why would anyone be a fan period..company practically destroyed making skiing and snowboarding fun and accessible to the average family smh..these are the same types of people that cry equity for all from their elitist mansions

      its called inflation and greed..in the 90s you could ride any resort in Tahoe for under 90 USD

    • @newagain9964
      @newagain9964 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s still a lot of money to ski for only week. If fact, can pay that now in US and that’s for elite mountains.

    You need to check out the run prima cornice. When it has snow, it is one of the best runs on the mountain by FAR.

    I went to Vail for the first time last weekend - mostly skied the Lionsgate area. I had a good time but, as a novice/beginner skier, there are a few things I noticed. First, if you are novice skier, there really isn't much to ski - come back once you have mastered the blues at Breck/Keystone. I will say that the Eagle's Nest Ridge trail was the most beautiful skiing I've ever experienced and the trail wasn't hard at all - probably lap via Game Creek trail. Warning - the bottom of Game Creek trail merges with a blue - so it is a little bluish for a hundred yards or so like parts of Cashier/Bonanza (Breck). Even so, as a beginner/novice - the only bowl I can do would be Game Creek and the other greens I tried in the Lionsgate pod were pretty hard for me - so it's entirely possible I'm just not ready for Vail. Also, a lot of the frontside is hard to see with the shadows of the late day.
    Ironically, Practice Parkway is an excellent learning area and within easy walking distance from the top of the Eagle Bahn gondola and mountain top amenities. Probably a great mountain to learn (early skills) but hard to progress out of the learning area. Magic carpet slope appears to be about right - my near first-timer wife wasn't put off by it (she was scared of Keystone's carpet learning area as it was too steep for her). Breck's carpets are _too_ flat in my opinion and their learning hill uses a platter lift. Vail is overkill for learning to ski unless you have an Epic pass - but if you do, definitely pick the Lionsgate area.
    However, there are some interesting green trails just beyond the learning area but no way to lap just those parts. You're basically committed until at least Avanti Express. Parts of Cubs way and other trails to the base can get a bit confusing. Last 1/3rd of the mountain I felt was a bit steeper than a green should be - perhaps I took a wrong (blue?) trail down. LOL
    I actually want to go back and try other parts of the mountain - especially the Sourdough pod.

    I always have to park on the street and walk into Vail. I'll be out in Breck in 2 weeks, and I may stop by Vail on my way to Glenwood

    Sorry! Vail ruined the skiing experience in the US by buying up most of the good resorts and driving up the costs. Don’t need to be pampered. Just want great skiing. Likewise, Breckenridge and Keystone were so much better before they were bought by Vail. None of them are affordable anymore. Too crowded. Too expensive. Too snooty.

      bingo..its sad the younger generation has to deal with this now vs back in the day..my home mountains in Poconos PA are now 100 for a day ticket..like what? highway robbery for sled hills..all thanks to Vail resorts corp..its unethical and a huge middle finger to the working man and woman -- only catering to the elites now..sad man

    Do you have any plans of every coming to Europe and trying the ski resorts here in the Alps (Austria, France, Italy)? Because they really are on a completely different level compared to the US in my opinion.
    And it would make sense cuz you say 10 is best in the "World" 🙃 hehe

      also giving vail the same ease of access score as eldora is not fair at all. Eldora runs multiple FREE shuttles every day from down town Boulder where most of the people going there live. (Me) Also the ride these is nothing compared to the i70 ski resorts which can get over 4 hours of traffic on a busy day or a storm. @@JohnathanBuckhouse

      listen I get it..but you are paying for the name and a global icon and the overall experience just to say hey I rode Vail at least once in my life..its a bucket list thing for most people...I'm headed there next week for one day but have a week pass at Abasin..but bucked up and coughed up the loot as they robbed me at gunpoint because I want to say I rode there and had the experience..plus being from the core era of snowboarding in the 90s when Mack Dawg and TB movies ruled the day where most riders were wearing baggy skate jeans and chain wallets I can have a few laughs at the current scene at a place like VR
