    Hi, Anniina! I started ashtanga yoga 4 years ago thankful to you. And since you have experience with yoga being pregnant. I want to ask you advice. How pregnant woman has to modify ashtanga yoga during all pregnancy? Thank you 😊🤗☀️💓And inverted possitions are allowed, like headstand?

    • @anniinavivian
      @anniinavivian  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ilona! I just saw your comment :) when pregnant it’s good to continue the ashtanga practice and keep doing for example the Primary Series, or what ever your body has been used to.
      There’s really no right or wrong way, it’s about understanding your own pregnancy and listening to your body :)
      My advice is to shift the focus from the purifying strong practice into a more gentle and nourishing manner. My teachers asked me to step instead of jumping, to omit the deep twists and open your legs to accommodate the growing belly when needed 😊✨🤍
      I should probably make an entire video on that, let me know if you have any more questions! Every trimester was also different for me, sometimes I would just do surya namaskar and lie down to breathe, sometimes I’d do the entire primary and more 😄

      And what about inverted possitions like headstand? Is it allowed to do during first trimester? And after?🤗

    • @anniinavivian
      @anniinavivian  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey :) there's really no one size fits all approach to the asanas, its important to stay in tune with your body and adjust the practice every day. for some women inversions feel great, others like to avoid them. I personally loved inversions and my body felt good in many asanas. There's no right or wrong asanas, but its' good to practice things that are familiar to your body and as long as you're accommodating your growing belly :) a great book recommendation is Yoga Sadhana For Mothers by Sharmila Desai :)
