Tomy Donald & Douglas were never released in the states, only in the UK-AUS. However, they were finally released in the states in 2008 for Trackmaster.

I got the HIT Toys Donald and it uses the same mold as the Tomy version. I don’t have Douglas, as he is, as you quote, hard to find.

I remember in the Philippines, Donald was as common as can be. and that plarail was the only game in town until fisher price started releasing along side. but I only saw Douglas once in the mall, and he's still pretty hard to find compared to his twin.

That’s cool unfortunately I couldn’t wait that long to get the trackmaster Donald and Douglas so I made custom trackmaster 2 redesign Donald and Douglas and keep them and I made them the main Donald and Douglas from now on❤😊

I ended up buy a new Hit toys Douglas, it in way better condition, no scratches, stickers in mint condition, and only cost me about $30 bucks!
