there are specific champions scripting is 'less' beneficial, Xerath is the most common one ironically he is one of the easiest to beat, because the scripter gains perfect aim, but this is not considering greater concepts all the time like zoning. I feel like the lore itself xerath is a good champion to 'cheat' with was optimally internally selected as a literal trap for cheaters to both suck at the game, while also getting caught XD. so while basic scripts will make Xerath himself super obvious to be cheating, there needs to be some kind of extra complicated script to instead block the enemy units pathing, because that is actually significantly more useful for killing the enemy. Like Xerath W, if the aim of it is completely encircling a target, then it's actually the shortest distance to escape it in any direction, giving the human responding to the skill shot, more time and options to react, than if you just block their path they will most optimally want to select with zoning. So the best actual uses of skillshots that are AoE like Xerath W are not always just a perfectly centered shot(they actually rarely are!), making defeating Xerath scripters actually more easy, than skilled Xerath players. Scripts also respond awkwardly to burst damage, the same way bots do not respect it the way humans do, and so if the scripter equally does not understand to respect burst damage, it can get the better of them quickly. I legit don't understand why anyone would ever use cheats in a pvp game (not including if it is purely for the purpose of boosting for money). Like how is it fun/enjoyable/anything to cheat. Anything you gain while doing so is fake. It's beyond pathetic.

8:00 The concept of gateway drugs, at least in the way you describe it, has been readily disproven. People don't become heroin addicts by smoking weed, but rather other opioids. The overwhelming majority of heroin addicts in the US started with prescription drugs. The entire opioid crisis was engineered by companies like McKinsey, so it's weird that you would phrase your analogy as you did. I get the point you're trying to make, but your method of choice is actively misrepresenting a crisis that has been, and still is, killing millions of people all over the world.
Today I figured out how mediocre i am, was playing ranked game, I honestly had never been so ruled an entire game, the moment I realized ive been playing league for around 9 years and my peak was diamond 4. 2 years ago. Now im honestly frustrated. Not like usual, but I really think that I cannot reach a high rank, the issue is... I cant accept it. I only think of practice, but still cannot see a future where I can play again in high ranks. This is just me allowing myself to sorta turn it into something public, so i can accept it easily. Im dumb, thats it, good night
Don't worry my guy, unless you're getting paid to play league, it's fine if you don't reach a high rank. I get the struggle of climbing and getting better because I've done it before.
DongHua, wonderful explanation. Gave the like and all. But let me ask you something: Has any of the big cheaters told you about the russian server, or they are keeping quiet about how many matches of that server go ham on cheats up to the limit? Faker literally mechanically outplayed a scripting program and beat him in his own game as Viktor vs Karthus while being spam ganked. Yes that was Prime Faker, but "impossible" is rather amusing to hear from NA shitheads who cannot hold the mouse in 2021.
@@bonesh0ckerz That line of the video is talking about reaction time when it comes to dodging skillshots. The script would input a command to move instantly. As in less than any human could react to anything. Faker is a god but any human player could not input to dodge faster than a script even if they are reacting to the animation. Also in the game that was a diamond player with diamond trading patterns and decision making that got to faker’s elo because of the scripts. Faker beat him because the scripts don’t change the diamond decisions the player made.
Really interesting. htese documentaries are cool.

I think its a sugma problem
I'm not trying to be mean or a scumbag to him, I just wasn't sure he was aware of this since the past couple vids have been like this. And i'm sure he would fix it if he knew about it since it is pretty noticeable.

"Riot was so inexperienced compared to these other companies."
Shows DotA2.
Valve is much more experienced when it comes to game dev, but they don't really care about game profits. Steam is their primary business.
@@tunahankaratay1523 idk, look at skins in csgo and tf2
Valve is worst company in the world, they are stupid and retarded. Their kidnapping of DotA is worst thing that happened to the gaming in recent gaming history.
@@zemljajeravna5336 are you an Epic games fanboy or something?
@@zemljajeravna5336 What do you mean by kidnapping? Blizzard wasn't interested in making of Dota 2 so hey, free market for icefrog i guess. Im getting an inkling that you aren't one of the smart ones out there... Or you are 14.
I've been playing League of Legends since like 2010 or whatever right when it came out. I have literally never had recurring issues with the client. I'm sure it's crashed a few or a handful of times throughout 12 years but no more than anything else.
Same. That's why I'm kinda confused a lot of people hate the "new" client. Or maybe you'll encounter problems if you play more than 8hrs a day or more
In the past I also had no problems with the client but the client now is literally broken. I got dodged because the queue won't load and I was disqualified from my promos. I was unable to ban several times. It showed no accept match on the client and it said that I didn't accept the match. I get 2 to 3 instances of these everyday when I try to play. It's literally dogshit and its really annoying because they are too focused on skins to fix the fucking client. (May the delt god derek from more plates more dates dot com bless you)
Yeah most of these problems are caused by overclicking buttons so client becomes confused or streamers playing 16 hours a day so client becomes unstable. Normal behaviour almost never gets these bugs, the pre game client is especially solid now.
@@cattysplat no
@@cattysplat the client is shit i tell you that as a programmer. I dont know what they use to make this window but there is definitely something wrong with it. Its not even overclicking. You click once on one window and then a second time on another and bam! Bug found! It is so badly written
Love that production value went up, absolutely hate the stock footage compilations tho.. it just feels weird in a league video
Just matched with a Sion with an autoaim nuclear missile ult, feels good
"The client isn't as bad as you think it is" then continues to go on about how easily someone can use the client to grief or troll players
Great video, but the sound isn't mixed really good. You're much more silent than the cheat-programmer sadly

Funny enough, the ones developing scripts and stuff are the least scummy ones, the ones abusing the things they develop to ruin the game for others are the actual scum because they're the losers that spent money to try and feel better about themselves.
Not that I support the developers themselves, but at the end of the day, they are pretty much exposing the weaknesses in the games and are actually helping in the way certain animals or plants help their respective ecosystem, and as long as actual gamebreaking hacks aren't let to destroy the integrity of the game often, as Dong said, it's helpful to them!
It's all about money.. It is also not possible to stop Cheating.
Script makers are literally profitting of people cheating. I'd say they are the bigger scum for sure.
Really great edit and information is so clear to understand.
It always for me interesting for such things, as backdoors and scripting things. Thanks for the video!
all devs should see this video, lots of lessons
Imagine if more game devs would work with the modding community like Riot does with hackers.
Amazing documentary Dong, keep up the good work
Very interesting video, the amount of research and work behind it must have been enormous !
However, as a small improvement, I suggest better sound equalizing as there are a lot of sound difference between each speaker
I play master yi, scripters are useless against me
Amen to that ending. Literally every top coder of any class or job has that one story where they went...hey what if...and hilarity ensued.
THE KING HAS RETURNED!
ok hear me out imagine if both dong huap and gbay made a league documentary.
So a big part of this involves the shit client, why am I not surprised. Other companies are at least smart enough to switch clients as time passes, but dear old riot is hell bent on keeping this clunker junker going.
Man your thorough and no nonsense style translates really well into documentary. Nice iob.
0:20 "in terms of technology league is built off of very old shit" caught me off guard and had me giggling to myself.
0:22 Good old HTML hacking, lol.
Scripting was a massive problem at some point, it was at the times of season 5 or 6 if i recall correctly and more than 50k accounts were banned in a big banwave
it was mostly to apps that gave free skins, ofc money at the first place ;)
Not even scripting can get me out of bronze

I stopped playing league 3 years ago, but I still somehow find myself watching your videos. The quality of your content is irresistible man.
Great stuff DongHuaP but pleaaase make the audio levels better next time.
Fun fact, you can actually downgrade the client and use the original release of league's client to play the game
How
@@plainidiot7596 It's for the same reason that you can open a .con file in a modern day windows computer. .con was the first ever file extension and windows has been built on top of DOS.
Same thing with league. The actual client is 90% the same with the only real difference being how it looks.
@@brohham3078 is it possible to downgrade back to season 5 when dominion map existed :(
@@plainidiot7596 it's technically possible to find the software needed to run Dominion on a server and then join the server but the work required to both get under Riot's radar AND maintain a server AND make all the champions function would be hard...
but if you are up for the challenge you could probably do it
I remember two years ago when a hacker game an interview don't remember to who. He said he had a script developed that can go from bronze to Master before getting banned.
You know it's interesting that you release this video now because just recently I and many other people started receiving multiple random friend requests from very sus pre-level 30 accounts probably trying to fish us or something.

I wasted close to 9 years in league but never in this time period i encountered a scripter.
In one of their posts they did say that on average you encounter 1 per 400 ranked games... which is 200 hours roughly
Great video, only issue is the sound mixing. Other than that these videos are entertaining and informative.
This channel is fantastic, love your content man
To be fair, i have never encountered a cheater in league of legends ever, and thats kind of impressive considering its one off the most popular multiplayer games of all time.
Im 21 now and ive played league since i was 13 and ive only ran into scripers twice, a xerath and an olaf thay micro spaced everything

I legit don't understand why anyone would ever use cheats in a pvp game (not including if it is purely for the purpose of boosting for money). Like how is it fun/enjoyable/anything to cheat. Anything you gain while doing so is fake. It's beyond pathetic.
Finally someone acnowledges the lobby exploit. Queue in Brazil is almost impossible to play in high elo because of this
Hackers are hackers. Ill intent or not, cheating in games is the second worst offence you can commit. Ill give props to Riot for implementing a anticheat software.
they should re do entirely the client's code.
from scratch.he would take the time it take but still should be better
8:00 The concept of gateway drugs, at least in the way you describe it, has been readily disproven. People don't become heroin addicts by smoking weed, but rather other opioids. The overwhelming majority of heroin addicts in the US started with prescription drugs. The entire opioid crisis was engineered by companies like McKinsey, so it's weird that you would phrase your analogy as you did. I get the point you're trying to make, but your method of choice is actively misrepresenting a crisis that has been, and still is, killing millions of people all over the world.
HEY MAN, I THINK THE MUSIC WASNT LOUD ENOUGH AT THE BEGINNING PLEASE TURN IT UP 😀
Today I figured out how mediocre i am, was playing ranked game, I honestly had never been so ruled an entire game, the moment I realized ive been playing league for around 9 years and my peak was diamond 4. 2 years ago.

I just hope that Riot finally grabs their stuff together, and puts all the eloboost and the cheat websites down. Because that's what they should do, and reform entirely the client.
