I remember watching If you Had my Love for the first time and I was like, wait isn’t that chick an actress? She’s singing now!? .... that is so dope! As a teenage girl back then I thought it was so original to do that! I was impressed by the fact that she had the guts to go a complete different direction, that’ was such a bold move to me. Jennifer Lopez needs to become a motivational speaker! She inspires me so much. I definitely feel like I'm going through the Second Act (phase) in my life. After so much loss and sadness, I've finally regained my strength and confidence.

Miserable people will purposely doubt you and try to put you down....just so that they can feel better about themselves. Mariah has been quiet about it for years. No one said anything no media nothing. The goal was to push Jen to the top even if she had to lip sync and steal other people's music.

A lot of people were jealous of her. I think she was targeted for being Latina. People were still racist back then. Hey Jlo! Love you! You are a huge inspiration! My whole life I have been misunderstood by people and have been through a difficult time growing up. I was born with Autism. My entire life I was bullied and teased and overall was rough. This world is so cruel. Things were harder for me than others. I want to spread awarness to the world. I still feel people don't understand Autism let alone know much about it. I always used movies, TV, music and entertainment in general as an escape from the cruelty I was going through in the real world. Your work has gotten me through some of the darkest moments in life my life and inspired me and I cannot thank you enough. I am so glad that this biography was made cause I got to learn so much more about you and what you want through to get to where you are. I love all your music and films. Especially second act I totally get where you were coming from in that film. So many times I dreamed of meeting you and hanging out with you but then wake up to realize it was a dream and I have to go about my day. People keep bringing up the lip syncing on her songs and "bad acting". JLo is doing something right because she's STILL RELEVANT 20 YEARS AFTER BEING IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY WHERE SOME PEOPLE DON'T LAST AFTER 20 MINUTES.
It's great that she was able to do exactly what she wanted - to have a hit record (and many more) all whilst being in movies. BUT in all honesty - her movie projects before her becoming a pop star were a million times better. Selena, U-Turn, Out of Sight - those were AMAZING roles, and she played them with such raw depth. She was the up and coming new actress, her manager was right, and in all of those early movies you could see her talent. She was cast later for hugely successful films but they were mostly "glossy" movies, many romantic comedies, not much great acting, and that's ok (it s still a big acting career) - but she became a bit of a Julia Roberts instead of a Jennifer lawrence. Had she focused on her acting craft, I think she could have been a fine actress. I think there's inevitably something to choose - do it all or focus on one thing. Doing it all you'll never go into one thing fully and deeply, and you re not going to discover the absolute maximum of your ability there. I think she actually discovered her abilities in singing and dancing on stage to a greater degree, and that's cool. She's an amazing performer, and she s gone incredibly far. Truth is you can't have it all - you can have very much, but if you're going to dance on several weddings at the same time you're going to miss out on some special moments in all of them. Not a biggie, but I feel her manager was right. And I loooved her intensity in Out of Sight, I was so excited for this actress to go further. And in truth she did not as an actress. I ve never seen that intensity in her on screen again to this day. But it s ok, her fire burns brightest on the stage and while dancing imo.
Have you seen her show Shades of Blue and Lila and Eve? Absolutely loved both. I think roles like these are better suited for Jlo because she brings her real personality and experiences into it.
