I agree with you. I do not understand why a mother would feel jealousy or envy towards her own child. If anything there should be a sense of pride for her child's success, beauty, intelligence, etc. A mother should also lead by example, to direct how to be a decent, loving, respectable, and respectful woman and human being. It appears to me that Tokyo Toni has no self-respect, and suffers from a lot of insecurities which makes you wonder what type of relationship she had with her mother. There is a high level of toxicity in this mother and daughter relationship and it is extensively damaged. I'm not sure if Iyanla alone could successfully cure the ills within their relationship.
She also seems like she has narcissistic personality disorder.

My mom is the one she treated like trash and still does and I told my mom my grandma is a miserable being, she likes the drama with pitting her kids & grand kids against each other, then sit back and watch all the fires. She's had her picks of kids she chooses and she doesn't see anything wrong with it. She talks to my mom any kind of way and treats her like trash. She has always thought less of my mom and I told myself that once I got grown, I'd never allow her to mistreat my mom anymore. And i have not. I dont have anything decenf to say to her or about her because of her actions. She thinks she should still respect her for mistreating you. I've watched her trash her and make her cry. And at that point I was ready to kill. I told my mom there's nothing wrong with having a good heart but never let anyone make you feel less than dirt regardless of it being family or not.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I know what it is to have "mommy issues" So many times they are willing to call you out but never take the time to see what they have done. The trauma they caused you as a child. They will always call out your problems and even go as far as to twist your words & exaggerate or lie when they speak to others about you. Narcissistic behavior is toxic. You have to let go and move on because people like that will let you help them and then leave you high and dry when you need help. You have to break the cycle. Some people have awesome mothers and then some don't. I just want everyone who has a loving mother to not take it for granted. Your mother may not be perfect but if she loved and protected you, count it a blessing.
