I'm not even a big fan of the series as a whole (just casually enjoyed watching it once many years ago), but I fell into a deep hole of sherlolly fascination over the past week or two while I was sick. and then i got this song and idea stuck in my head... so of course I had to download the entire series and scan through it looking for all the evidence. it's still not perfect, but hopefully you enjoy it. Cause this is probably the only sherlolly video I'll ever make.

The idea here is that Molly gave all she had to Sherlock and suffered for her love of him. Even when Sherlock could not let himself be seen as a human being capable of feelings, Molly saw him anyway, loved him anyway. It nearly undid her, but she survived. She even won his love at the last possible second. Sherlock was the casualty here. He swore to never fall in love, but he already had, whether he knew it or not. Because, of course, Molly Hooper was always going to be Sherlock's final problem--his cruelest and sweetest downfall.
It's giving the clever Scheherazade conquering the cruel king by telling him her stories of Arabian Nights, only to find that he had fallen in love with her. It's giving the proud Mr. Darcy swallowing his pride at the humbling words of Elizabeth Bennett. Dare I say it's the anguished cry of Romeo as he awakes to find his own deadly slumber the very cause of his Juliet's death?

So, there's this line in the song at 1:51 that says "you wear the same jewels that I gave you as you bury me" and I just wanted to explain it...
I took the jewels to be a metaphor for love... Molly Hooper showed Sherlock her love by helping him fake his death and generally always being there to help him. This makes him notice and appreciate her and he comes to respect her feelings. Likewise, her life-saving presence in his mind palace shows just how much she matters to him and how highly he thinks of her. The moment he said "I Love You" and realized it was true, he was "wearing the same jewels" that Molly gave him... Her love for him turned into his love for her... and that moment puts the final nail in her coffin. He kills her with that very same love that she instilled in him. Sherlock comes to reciprocate her love at the very moment he has to save her life by burying her with his words during that phone call... but who really killed whom in that coffin trial?

@@ohifonlyx33 I read something once about how it's very normal to never feel quite satisfied with your work because of the vision that exists in your head. Coupled with the hours upon hours of crafting - whether creating a vid, illustration, or story. However, the viewer will only see it as a masterpiece because we don't see the threads tying it all together - just the tapestry itself.
