G day Gordon and Oscar, The alloy part was introduced to maintain rigidity in the control valve arm, the earlier tractors didnt have it and it must have flexed.
Sorry i have question my Ferguson weels Trurn and my motor forced on the neutral position but when i push on Clutch the weel dont turn and motor dont force . When i released the clutch at neutral the weels turn and motor forced too sorry my english i Côme from Québec tank for your Help 🧐
Hello Gordon & Son. Once again another great video. What is the weight of the hydraulic pump? I'm asking because this might be added to my task list. At 70 plus years old it could be a bear to handle while working alone. Might need to coax a young neighbour fella into the garage to lend a hand. My mind still thinks I'm 20, but the body reminds me that its getting long in tooth. TTFN/CDC
Hi Charles, it’s reasonably heavy and mostly awkward to man-handle. Ideally it’s a two person job, but with a bit of ingenuity and forward thinking one could do it alone and safely. 👍😉
Hi Kevin, I think I understand. It sounds like the gearbox is stuck in one of the gears. Although what I find interesting is that you describe it as the 'engine is forced' which I think you mean it is "labouring" in other words slowing down and sounds like it is 'working'. Normally if it was stuck in a gear the tractor would start to move or the engine would cut out if you have the brakes engaged. So that would mean your clutch is slipping as well. Has the tractor been standing for a long time? I would suggest you try to diagnose the gearbox first, but most probably you need to replace the clutch as well. Sorry I can't be of much more help, with the limited information you've provided. If it's easier send me a more complete description of the problem in French and I will get it translated by a colleague of mine. Best wishes Gordon.
Great job and good to see the young man getting involved
Thanks David 👍😉

Thanks Lance - makes sense. The arm is quite long and is acting on a "delicate" valve T-piece by comparison.
